  1. Hey all, I've been hinting at this in the discord for the past 5 mins or so, and here it is. Rules: In the below spoiler, I will provide the names of 5 VHL users which you must find in the puzzle and take a screenshot of each of them separately, then put all five screenshots in a post of your own in this thread and the fastest post wins an article written by me about their player in the coming weeks. Here are the 5 names: Here is the puzzle: Good luck!
  2. well, we are 7 years apart
  3. yea I remember asking my parents for like 5-10 bucks for the drive and they were like 'fuck no it's a scam' like, I find parents don't understand that not every website's sole purpose is to make money. Even when I told my dad there weren't any ads on the site, he still wouldn't do it. I don't get it
  4. Hello random VHLer, it is I, the ledge dairy man, here to bring you a startlingly long list of possible recreate names. Struggling to think of a creative name for your new player? Well I’m not, and there’s no way I’m going to go through all of these names in my tenure here, so I’ve gifted them to the public for use. FYI, none of these are from stupid random name generators, all from my reliable cranium. If you’re going to use one, which I confidently expect you won’t, please post a reply in this thread so I can cross it off the list. Enjoy! Gildon Kempton Ali Roswell Ethan Corlman Nicholas Polstein Alexis Moenlie (pronounced ‘Uh-lex-EE Mo-uh-LEE) Harley Rose Tucker Bolton Ronan Kellerman Joel Luciano Nico Eletent (pronounced Nico -elluh-TAW) Tuscan Clyde Caylan Forrester Ryder Douglas Paris Leclerc Elliott Strale Cassius Mordan Kingston Raner Marlon Grondre (pronounced “Mar-LAW Gr-AW”) Spencer Monroe Quinn Melchmann Eric Alamastaire Caleb Marleau Rylon Iwanyi Austin Reece Rhett Wulfstone Milo Pellier (pronounced Milo Pell-ee-YAY) Joey Rolston Clayton Leto Daxon Marcel Janssan Mortimer Cody Kane Freddy Rockua Massimo Cortier Gifford Shock That concludes my list of possible recreate names. Although it would make my day if I saw any of them used, I repeat that I am quite certain no one will use any of them. Good day to you!
  5. Sorry to hear this mate, I feel lucky my school isn't collecting my laptop. Obviously being a kid I can't send you anything, but I could maybe write articles for you if a. I have extra free time, and b. it is allowed by the commishes. Either way, best of luck with the situation and enjoy your summer.

Don't exaggerate so much here, come on. Players don't protect themselves as much anymore because the NHL has changed. The Matt Cookes and, yes, Marty McSorleys, of the league are becoming rarer and rarer, and there are less potentially career-ending hits being dished out, so yes, players tend to protect themselves less. But you're totally missing my point' they shouldn't need to. If Evans was this fancy little superstar who relied on goons to protect him his entire career, there's no way he would have survived the NCAA, AHL, and now NHL playing the way he does, as a bottom-six grinder kind of guy. I think it's fair to say he's had some experience protecting himself in the past, right? So if it's his judgment, which is 'hey, I've got the puck behind an empty net and I'm gonna wrap it around as quickly as possible to win us the game', versus the judgment of the frustrated Scheifele, which is probably 'Evans is going to score right here unless I miraculously dive and stop it, but why the hell would I do that, I'm mad about my teams' and my own performance tonight so I'm going to take out my anger on him'. How the hell is Evans supposed to expect Scheifele flying in and knocking him unconscious? What's he supposed to do? Look up, see Scheifele raging down the ice, and just sit behind the net and wait for him to stop the game winning goal? Or should I risk getting hit and score that mf? It's like arguing with a million George Parros's

Yeah that’s a bad game to say it’s Evans’ fault. You can’t and shouldn’t expect Schiefle to fly in like that. I bet he was aware of his surroundings, did the quick calculation that Schiefle was too far away to stop him, incorrectly assumed that a player who knows they’re powerless to stop the play would ease up, and incorrectly assumed that the player coming down was a violent angry monster bent on taking his head off. Schiefle knew he couldn’t stop him. Everyone on the ice expected him to slow down or otherwise stop the charging when he knew he was toast. But he didn’t. He made a very, very bad decision once he knew he lost. That’s not a hockey play. The rule book is there so players can assume that the guy barrelling at them from centre ice won’t fly full tilt into their head. The rule book says Evans is allowed to go into that position by saying what Schiefle did is illegal. It’s illegal to get cross checked in the throat, so I don’t have my shoulders at my ears covering my neck with my body every time I’m in a net front battle, because I am allowed to assume the other guy won’t cross check me in the throat. Same thing.
