Answers 1. Any surprises to you so far in the playoffs? Probably the Stars getting through. We are talented but have been really coming together as a team with contributions from everyone. 2. Any thoughts on how any of the non purely most in stat awards are going to turn out? Welch is a shoe-in for Best Defenceman. 3. There has been a decent amount of GM turnover the past few seasons. Do you have any thoughts on if that is positive or negative? Adding the VHLE really added the turn over with many VHLM GMs moving into spots there but 6 new teams had a trickle down effect. Any year where there are more than a couple of openings per league is more likely to be negative. It really depends on if the people taking over are experienced in some way or at least trained well. Questions: Who gets to the finals from the World, Malmo or Moscow or someone else? Who is your regular-season GM of the year for S80? If you could relocate a team, who would you relocate and where would they go?

1) The season is almost over, how would you rate your personal performance this season? Did it meet your expectations? Honestly, way better than I could have thought. I figured my stats last season were due to playing so much in Toronto but I am on pace to surpass last year's stats and potentially make the playoffs. 2) The rules of hockey are changed to be the first team to score 100 goals wins the game. What other rules are you changing to make this feasible? A switch to 3 on 3 is mandatory. I would get rid of icing and offsides and find a way for a 2, 3, and 4 point goal. Probably would have to get rid of goalies too. 3) We develop the technology to have an outdoor ice hockey game ANYWHERE. Where is your dream game played? There was a college basketball game on an aircraft carrier a bunch of years ago. I don't know if it would be dream game but it would blow my mind if a league could do the same. Questions: 1. As the season is winding down, who has become your least favorite team to play against this season? 2. If you did VFHL, how do you think your team is doing? If not (or if don't like the first half of the question), which player's production is surprising you the most? 3. Would you rather have a cat with a dog brain or dog with a cat brain, as a pet?

1. Do you think your team will be making any teals as the trade deadline approaches? I would have to image so. The Stars made one deal once we looked out of contention but nothing since then. As the deadline approaches, I think teams will offer more and we will accept less. 2. Are you surprised at how your team has been performing, or are you doing about as expected? It largely comes down to our crappy shooting percentage. I haven't seen a team score this little while shooting so much. Personally, my point streak is pretty insane. 3. Fantasy creatures came up in discord today, what is your favorite mythical/fantasy creature? Griffins are my favorite. Pretty simply eagle plus lion equals freaking awesome! 1. Who do you think will be next player traded after Pines? Stamen has the contract length and TPA to be the next most sought after asset. 3. Which team will be the biggest buyer as we head to the deadline? Chicago could use 2 more forwards and 2 defensemen so it could be them but that is also a tall talk. I'm thinking that Moscow needs one more good forward and very good defensemen to pretty much be guaranteed the cup so I'm betting on them. 4. We are a little over a quarter through the season, who is your quarter season MVP? Markus Emerson has been sensational for Vancouver. They are stacked but they would not be so far ahead of the league without him. 5. Autumn has come which means it is pie season, what is your favorite type of pie? I am a sucker for pumpkin pie. 6. What is your goal-song? I'll take anything by The Strokes.

1. What are your goals for the season? I'd like for the team to make the playoffs and I want to stay at or near a point a game. 2. Who is going to be our toughest competition? Everyone is really competitive in the NA, except Toronto. Vancouver and Calgary are probably out of our grasp so the other 4 teams are in direct competition for us in making the playoffs/seeding. 3. What were the biggest offseason moves? Malmo maintaining as much talent as they did. I haven't seen a team so ready to repeat in the VHL in a while. 4. Do you workout and train during the offseason? Or do you relax and enjoy the vacation? A little bit of both. Can't let the fitness get too out of hand but its important to enjoy. 5. Chocolate or other sweets? I like gummies and sour candies most. 6. What is your favorite kind of bread? All bread is my favorite type of bread! Bread is delicious!

1. What does your player do during the offseason? During the offseason, it is an all day rotation of golf and hitting the pool. 2. Arvid Johansson is off to the VHLE, how did he contribute to LA's success last season? Pretty incredibly contribution from a rookie but I wouldn't expect anything less from a Marlin alum. 3. How would your player react to being in a veteran role on a new VHLE team, like Johannsson will? It be nice to feel a little more secure in knowing the results will be there but the E will be a bloodbath with such similar talent levels. It'll prepare players for the VHL in short order. 4. We're training a robot to create VHL drama threads and need some thread names to feed it. Please help. I place all of the AGMs in there. Hope the robot has a Celebrity Death Match style event in mind. 5. Which player is your dream teammate? I almost got the chance to reunite with Scotty Kaberle so I'd love the chance to actually play with him. 6. What other languages do you want to know/are interested in? I know a bit of Spanish and Hebrew. I'd love to learn those languages more.

1. Did you follow the lottery tournament at all? I didn't but I just looked back at the box scores and yikes! We had a couple of good games but mostly we get wrecked. 2. The VHLE just had their first ever set of sims... thoughts? It was pretty cool to see such parity. Pretty much every game was competitive. 3. What do you expect from Toronto in the upcoming entry draft? First, lots of players. I think Peace will get a good core of regens to carry this team in a couple of years. 4. If you remain on Toronto -- who have cap space for bonuses -- what would you use bonus money on? I'd love to stay and get some cash for dep fighters. 5. What do you anticipate for yourself next season? Literally no idea. This is my first time as an FA. 6. Who do you think goes first overall in the upcoming VHLE draft? I'm not sure, it'll be tricky to get someone who you know will earn and not be in the M but get over-earn to get out of the E.

Just going back to an old and random PC for this week. 1. What is your favorite TV/Movie universe? I'm not so into the DC/MCU content. For TV, I'll go with the Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul universe. For movies, let's do Mighty Ducks. 2. Who is your favorite superhero? I liked reading the Defenders and Shield series as a kid with Daredevil and Luke Cage. Anything set there had a really good vibe to it. 3. What about your favorite villain? Kingpen for the same reasons as above. 4. What do you like to do to occupy your free time? This time of year its fantasy football 10000% of the time and a little golf. 5. Do you prefer grilled or toasted sandwiches? (Maybe neither?) Almost always grilled sandwiches are the way to go 6. Do you have a favorite fast food restaurant? Hard to go against McDonald's.

1. How do you think of your players performance this season? I think Vick had a really solid year as far as personal achievement goes. I hope that they are at least on par with is expected with that much playing time. 2. Toronto didn't make the playoffs, but we're going to get a guaranteed top six pick. Who are you hoping we draft in the entry draft? Toronto has a lot of picks most likely 3 in the top 10 which is great. I just hope Toronto gets 3 strong players to build that core. 3. Who do you think was our most valuable player this season? Either Han or Clap. They stood in the way of a lot of shots. 4. Will you be cheering on any friends in the VHL this post-season? Most teams have at least a friend on them so I can't pick one specifically. 5. What are your expectations for Toronto next season? I think it'll most likely be another rough year from a team success perspective but year 2 will most likely have a semi-deep run. Years 3 and 4 will be when the success starts shining. 6. What sim engine would you use if VHL announced a popularity contest for any specific sim engine to replace STHS? FHM or ESHM. It would be so much fun to be able to watch our players and have more attributes/builds.

All good and thanks for the PC this week! 1. What is your go-to side dish for any home prepared meal? That's a good question...I am a sucker for brussels sprouts with bacon on the side of any meal. 2. What is your go-to fast food order? Either Taco Bell with a crunchwrap supreme and some fiesta potatoes item at the least, or a spicy chicken sandwich from any place. 3. What do you think about this seasons theme week? I like it, the only critique is that it is a little generic. 4. What do you think about Toronto's collection of draft picks? It looks like a great way to start the rebuild. I hope that management is able to stay the course with the crop they are going to get from the firesale. 5. Are you looking forward to the VHLE starting soon? I think! I think that it will be successful at filling the talent gap when getting called up and expanding the universe. I almost wonder if an uncapped year in the VHLM, upping the cap limit in the VHLM, and added a couple of teams would have done the trick without the extra effort. All in all, I hope it does well. 6. Do you think we can play spoiler for a hopeful playoff team? That is all I am looking forward to!

Didn't see a press conference for this week so I'll go to the last one I didn't answer. 1. Alberta and BC are going through 'historic' heat waves; 40c days and 20-25c nights. Does it get this hot where you live? That was some horrific heat in the northwest in July. That paired with what happened in Texas last winter, I am pretty afraid that we aren't prepared the other side of the extremes. This last week was pretty insane in DC as far as heat goes and it definitely seems a hotter than when I was kid. Somewhat luckily, this region gets a bit of both extremes and we are prepared for it. 2. Do you have air conditioning? Just bought a house in April actually and I don't have central air, just a handful of window units, but thankfully there are ceiling fans everywhere. It gets hot in here and I hope to put in something in a couple of years. 3. Do you celebrate national holidays like Canada's Day / Independence Day? I usually do but it is also my anniversary, July 4th, so it's great to have the whole country launching fireworks for us. 4. Did you do anything this year... or are you planning on doing something this year? I am trying not to travel too much with the delta variant going around. I have some work trips planned in late September and I think they will be cancelled. 5. Hotdogs over a camp fire or a barbeque? Charcoal BBQ is the best for hotdogs. 6. What goes best with hot dogs? Chips and pop? I think it is all about mood when it comes to hot dogs. Just a couple of chili cheese dogs and a beer is usually my go to.
