  1. Titans Review Thus Far The Helsinki Titans franchise have had a couple of hard years in the VHL after going into full rebuild mode rebuilding from scratch. When the Titans knew they were going to be acquiring the promising prospect Aleksi Koponen via the GM Rule at some point gave them the signal to start the rebuild. They acquired some already established talent in Pablo Escabar and Wolfgang Strauss for last season who had an amazing seasons on a lonely Titans team that was awful and kept their young prospects down in the VHLM. Those prospects being Aleksi Koponen, Marcel Faux and Theo Matsikas. But the General Manager had a plan. He had stock piled picks and at the end of the lottery he had the two first picks in a great draft. The Titans rebuild was in full effect and that is what General Manager William Shaw wanted and that’s what he got. The rebuild is now pretty much over and it did not last that long with all the talent they have acquired. The Helsinki Titans started from the bottom and now they are here. The Titans currently sit with a record of 19-4 which leaves them first in the strong European Conference and on top of the entire VHL. The young Titans squad is full of recent draft picks and veterans the General Manager has acquired like Thomas O’Malley, Brady Stropko and Christoph Klose which he acquired via trade this off-season. These veterans are carrying the Titans offensively right now as Thomas O’Malley leads the team in points with 34 and Stropko close behind with 33 points. These veterans allow the young players like Aleksi Koponen and Marcel Faux to play on the second line as they develop. The Titans have good depth up front which includes Thomas Duddy who plays on the third line who established himself last season as a good VHL player. The Titans depth upfront makes them stronger as they have a young defense and a rookie goaltender. Leading the way on defense for the Titans is Pablo Escabar who was simply fantastic last season on the blue line for the Titans and first overall pick Phil Hamilton. Although the Titans defense do not have sexy offensive output thus far they are doing just fine defensively. Although most would probably expect high numbers from a first overall pick but Hamilton is doing fine with his 11 points in 34 games. He has a plus/minus rating of 18 and is still adjusting to the VHL game. Escabar is the leading offensive defenseman for the Titans with 16 points. The Titans defense core also added Theo Matsikas who is also a rookie and forward turned defenseman Souryuu Kaminogi. The Titans needed defensemen and Kaminogi was one of the ones who was able to play defense so he is now playing on the blue line. This rookie defense unit has done a good job thus far protecting rookie goaltender Greg Clegane. Time will tell if maybe the lack of VHL experience of the Titans blue line will come back to bite them. Goaltending is seen is one of the most important positions in hockey and the Titans certainly have a good one for the future and now. Greg Clegane was the second overall pick in this past draft and is certainly living up to that as of right now. The rookie has a .922 save percentage and a 2.12 goals against average which is currently the best in the league. His 18-4 record is also fairly impressive for a rookie goaltender. The mixture of youth and veterans on the Helsinki Titans this year gives them an opportunity to go for a run this season and the next few seasons. The Titans are set up for a long time as they begin to climb back up to the top of the VHL for seasons to come. Once these top prospects get into their prime the Titans could be hard to beat.

  3. Content: 3/3 - Your articles are always a good read and interesting. I love your charts and statistics. Probably some of the best media spots to grade cause its so interesting. Europe is definitely a lot better this season although there's some competition in North America but not really. Europe is going to beat up on each other all season much last North America last season. Ottawa's basically been rebuilding for like 3 seasons so that doesn't help NA's really. There is always sucha a difference season to season in VHLM between whose tanking and whose going for it. The Blades once you turn into a bigger beast than you already are will probably be fine later on in the season. Grammar: 2/2 - Couple typos by the the Royals= by the Royals loss gainst the Lynx = loss against the Lynx Appearance: 1/1 - Very lovely. Overall: 6/6
  4. Overview: 2/2 - I wasn't so sure about the title, but then it made sense once you said it in the profile, haha. I tried to claim you on waivers but it didn't last, hehe. Good luck with your player this season and beyond! Pros & Cons: 3/3 - Good stuff here. Grammar: 2/2 - cocksucker is very inappropriate Presentation: 1/1 - Looks good. Overall: 8/8
  5. Overview: 2/2 - Good rookie profile, just over the word count which is good. Good luck with your player, hope to see you stick around for awhile ! Pros & Cons: 3/3 - Yup. Grammar: 2/2 - I didn't catch anything. Presentation: 1/1 - Sweggy Overall: 8/8
  6. Overview: 2/2 - Great rookie profile. It looks like your going to be a stud player in the VHL and already are in the VHLM. I wish I would've had a high pick in the VHLM to pick you but Brampton is lucky. You're probably going to be the best player in the VHLM next season if you go back and will be a real good VHL pick. Pros & Cons: 3/3 - Well done. Grammar: 2/2 - Lovely. Presentation: 1/1 - Very pretty. Overall: 8/8
  7. Content: 3/3 - Um.. Interesting media spot? Haha. Not sure what to really say other than interesting Good luck with this season though . Grammar: 2/2 - playing ice hockey in the junior teams of his = playing ice hockey on the junior team of his (Kinda reads funny) commissioner = Commissioner (They special deserve that caps) Appearance: /1 - Looks fine. Overall: 6/6
  8. Content: 3/3 - Quebec is definitely going to have a rough season or to. Although it looks like the team is not doing too badly at the moment, but that might change. Kesler made some pretty decent moves aswell, and looks to be going in a good direction. Weinstein is playing pretty well considering and i'm not surprised since you were a beast in the VHLM playoffs. Grammar: 2/2 - manged = managed was more then happy = was more than happy Appearance: 1/1 - Looks good. Overall: 6/6
  9. Wild Things The S45 VHLM dispersal draft did not seem like it was going to be kind to the Saskatoon Wild who did not have a first round pick and had to pick at the end of each round. According to draft rankings it did not seem that the Wild would have much hope in selecting some impact players this season as most of the top prospects were ranked in the top 12 or so players. Once their pick came at 16 the Wild had a couple low-end prospects they could choose from that could provide some known depth for the team now and in the future. But there was one prospect sitting there that was a bit unknown and seemed to have a higher potential than everyone else but possibly a lower ceilings. After some deep discussions the Wild decided that it was worth the risk. The Saskatoon Wild decided to select center Jonathan Killeen. Then at the end of the third round, the same scenario came up and the Wild went the same route and selected Niels Svovgaard. Both these prospects have shown thus far they have what it takes to become a great VHLM player and potential VHL player. The rest of the Wild’s draft were boom or bust picks that seem to have gone more towards the bust side but things can change. The Wild got two great players to help their franchise that have extremely high potential and that’s all that matters is to hit on higher round picks. The Wild have had a surprise start to the season at least in the eyes of management. Although it should not be too surprising when they have two of the top defenseman in the entire league still on their roster in Erik Hedman and MC Hammer. These two defenseman have been driving the team thus far from the back end. MC Hammer is leading the league in points with 17 and Hedman is following close behind with 11 points. With these two holding down the Wild’s blue line they should be in decent shape to make the playoffs this season but that’s not a given. It’s unknown whether Saskatoon management will try to chase in one or both of these players for assets later on in the season but for now these two will keep lighting it up for the Wild. Up front the Wild have some good depth with veteran forward Markus Muller in the fold, who was picked up in unrestricted free agency to provide some help for the young forwards. He is leading the team in points for forwards with 11 while helping recent draft picks Jonathan Killeen and Niels Skovgaard. Skovgaard has also been impressive thus far into his rookie season scoring 5 goals and recording 5 assists for 10 points in 7 games. Playing first line minutes with Muller has been helping Skovgaard learn the game and has taken pressure off the young rookie. Jonathan Killeen is the team’s first line center and has been pretty impressive off the scoresheet. His almost 64 face-off percentage is fairly impressive for a first year player. As of late though he’s been getting on the scoresheet with two assists in the last 2 games. Once he starts finding his offensive grove, Killeen will be an impact player for the Wild. R-Truth has also helped providing some veteran leader ship playing as the second line center. Truth has 7 points and a 60 face-off percentage thus far. SSK-G has been a surprise so far for the Wild playing every game and having a 4-1 record and a .918 save percentage with 1.60 goals against average. Although this pace is not sustainable it’s nice to see at the beginning of the season from such an unknown goaltender.
  10. Content: 3/3 - Calgary will be fine as long as they have Wingate since hes a god. Mr.Eagles has done a pretty good job thus far and picked up a key player in UFA. So Calgary should be okay for awhile. I'm sure Mr.Eagles will find a way to keep Calgary competitive for awhile before blowing it up . Grammar: 2/2 - while this could be a potential top 4 player, that potential will be realized later on = while he could be a potential top 4 player, that potential will be realized later on (The way you wrote it read kind of funny to me) Appearance: 1/1 - Yes Overall: 6/6
  11. Content: 3/3 - I haven't really followed the North American Conference for awhile but hopefully the Bears get back to being competitive soon with these three players including yourself being a major reason why. Grammar: 2/2 - Didn't catch anything at all. Appearance: 1/1 - Yup Overall: 6/6
  12. Content: 3/3 - Yeah the European conference looks interesting. Anyone could finish at the top and anyone could finish near the bottom depending on luck of the sim. Even looking at your prediction seeing Riga at the bottom is rough because I think they're pretty good. Shows how good Europe is. Grammar: 2/2 - Great work! Appearance: 1/1 - Looks good! Overall: 6/6
