KRZY got a reaction from Spartan in Gearing up for the playoffs
Todd Cooke is gearing up for the playoffs after an incredible regular season. Where he led the league in points and tied for the league lead in assists. LA finished the season on a roll winning 5 in a row ! Cooke is looking to carry his great play into the post season and help the Stars win a Continental Cup . LA and Cooke are on a roll and if they keep it up I don’t see a team that can top them right now !

Playoffs are an exciting time for everyone and this team is putting it all together at the right time . They’re just hoping that the franchise player and help lead them to the promised land when it’s all said and done !

LA lines up against an equally talented Dragons team in the first round this series has everything from superstars , evenly matched teams , basically everything you look for in a playoff series . I for one can’t wait to get going ! It’s gonna be fun folks !

Holy moly what a season we had this season , so many breakout players and surprises. There’s quite a bit I could ramble about right now . Here’s a few things I’ll pick .

KRZY wins first ever VHFL Pool !
Finally after being mediocre for so many seasons before this one , I finally won a VHFL pool . It did although come right down to the wire ! @Arce held anywhere from a 10 to 30 point lead on me pretty much all season . When @Spartan  released the payout thread I was absolutely shocked to see myself three points above RC in first place . RC made me sweat all season and it was a fun battle trying to catch him . Now all I’ve gotta do is figure out Super Coach and I’ll be set 😂😂

MVP race closer then we’ve ever seen before.
Early this season I wrote a media spot touching on the many candidates for the season 90 MVP trophy . And sonar thing I can tell you since then is I wouldn’t wanna be the people picking that winner , it’s so close I could honestly see it potentially being shared between 2 players maybe .

    Oslo falls from grace .
Now this one kinda shocked me at first if I’m being honest because at first glance this teams roster really isn’t that bad, in fact they had some really good players at the E level playing for them . Then I scrolled down and saw they had an inactive goalie just above the threshold for the TPE cutoff . And it all made since that was the teams Achilles heel this season . One thing I know from my time in the E with Oslo is the team is full of resilience and good people , They always find a way to be competitive. @Gaming Ringleader is too good of a GM I suspect he’ll find a way to return this team to the playoffs and Renaissance cup sooner rather then later!

Season 91 and 92 drafts look stacked !
Looking ahead to the future now both season 91 and 92 look stacked with recreates and exceptional players in both classes so far . I’m especially looking forward to seeing the careers of the 91 class play out in the next couple seasons . If they’re anything like the 81 class we’re in for quotes the treat. Here’s to hoping !

    Playoff Prediction.
Im gonna end this with a fun one I think ! Here’s my prediction for the final two teams that will face off in the finals , Closing out the season HOT ! I think the LA Stars will find a way to will themselves to the finals and finally silence their recent playoff demons ! Coming out of the EU I really honestly think it could be either Prague or Davos but I’m giving the slight edge to Davos to return to the finals . Lachlan @kirbithan has been too good this season and I think he will carry that into the playoffs.

Well there you have it folks there’s my end of season ramblings .  Let me know if you agree or disagree I’d love to hear your opinions ! Good luck to all heading into the playoffs this season !

KRZY got a reaction from Scurvy in MVP race closer then ever
As the regular season winds down the MVP race is closer then ever . There are 2 clear cut candidates for the league MVP those players are Todd cooke of the LA Stars and Jason @Jason kranz of the DC Dragons. Other candidates that could garner votes are goaltender Lachlan Summers @kirbithan , Art Vandelay @Gustav  Perennial Candidate and former league MVP Ronan Lavelle @Arce , Defensive standout Ryuji Sakamoto @der meister . Let’s take a look at why each of these players is deserving of taking home the MVP trophy.

    Todd Cooke
Cooke has single-handedly willed the LA Stars into the playoff picture , instantly clicking with newcomers Napoleon Dynamite @thadthrasher and Svatopluk Puk @Otaznik . Cooke has lead the league in most statistical categories at one point or another this season . He lead the league in points for a better part of the season recently getting passed in the last sim by Jason. Cooke has absolutely shattered his career highs on his way to an MVP Calibre season cracking  the 100 point mark. Cooke has without a doubt been the Stars MVP all season and in my opinion should be a favourite in the voting

    Jason
Coming from the same draft draft class as Cooke and coming over to DC in an off season trade Jason has found instant chemistry with Sakamoto and VLG @vincentlg2007. Jason has been the top goal scorer pretty much all season long and recently over took Cooke in the points lead . Jason is a real threat to Cooke in the MVP race as he is just as deserving of the title . And nobody should be surprised if he won the award. Jason is an impact player and a lethal goal scorer whose importance to his team can’t be overlooked.

    Lachlan Summers
Summers has put Davos on his back this season leading the league in Wins , Shutouts , and save % . Summers is also Third in GAA . Summers solid season in net has no doubt been instrumental in Davos looking to repeat as Cup Champs this season . In my open if Jason or Cooke don’t win MVP Summers will.

    Art Vandelay
Vandelay has quietly put together a solid MVP. worthy season as well , while the stars are no longer in first place . I don’t think they would be where they are without Vandelay and his lights out season he’s been having . Definitely a dark horse MVP season if you ask me !

    Ryuji Sakamoto
Sakamoto came outta nowhere this season he’s alaways been a solid defenceman but this year he’s really carried the Dragons blue line . Creating a lot of offence from the back end no doubt and instrumental part of team mate Jason’s strong season aswell , Sakamoto has been leading the league in assists for a long time this season and has great defensive numbers aswell . He’s done exactly what the Dragons knew he could for them when he was acquired .

    Ronan Lavelle
The grizzled vet is never far away from league MVP conversations. Playing his final season in Toronto this season he’s been a big part of their turnaround and ascension to the top of the NA conference . Lavelle has been having a farewell season where he once again could find himself winning and MVP trophy when it’s all said and done .

there you have it there’s a few players I feel all have had deserving seasons this year . While like I said I believe it’s a two horse race at the end of the day . Any one of the other players mentioned could take it home and wouldn’t be surprised one bit.

KRZY got a reaction from Scurvy in Cooke Shatters Career highs
With 9 games left in the season Cooke has set new career highs in nearly every single stat recorded . He’s put up 102 points so far 11 higher then his previous high of 91. 40 goals and 62 assists . Both new highs aswell . Cooke has also put up career highs in Hits and shots . And looks like he could be well on his way To setting new highs in game winning goals and power play goals . Needing 3 respectively in both category .

Cooke has been lights out and brought his A game every single game this season .

” All the individual success is nice to see and have , but ultimately I want to win a championship and see my team have success that’s what really matters to me at the end of the day .”
Cooke recently have this quote in a post game interview.

As the season winds down it’ll be fun to see where Cooke finishes and also to see if LA can finally silence their playoff demons.

KRZY got a reaction from kirbithan in MVP race closer then ever

Cooke without a doubt wouldn’t be having the season he is without how good LA is playing as a whole .

And I’m quite proud of how far I’ve come as a first gen player from as you said claiming welfare pretty much all summer last year , to max earning the last 5 seasons and getting whatever I can whenever I can for TPE .

I just thought this was a fun idea for a theme week spot 😂

Ya Now this is just purely a theme week piece. I couldn’t really think of anything in terms of people being FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY that really stood out to me as I’m still just a first gen and haven’t been around here that long to accurately give  my opinion on the topic . Now some of you may disagree and argue that I could’ve found something but I honestly couldn’t.

So I decided to go this route !

Todd Cooke was and exciting prospect in the season 84 draft class . Now I know 84 was full of promising recreates and even better first gen players then Cooke at the time . But Cooke was and always had been a determined hard working individual whose been driven to be the best . Strictly based on earning and activity I don’t think anyone would’ve or could’ve predicted how good Cooke would turn out to be .

currently ranked 6th in TPE and 1st in TPA in the Season 84 draft class . Cooke has solidified his position as one of the top players not only from Season 84 but in the league .

This is where I will now got to my point of this media spot Cooke was drafted 27th overall the only players ahead of him that I believe deserve to still be ahead of him In a redraft are Art Vandelay @Gustav  Napoleon Dynamite @thadthrasher Pierre Emile Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito AK92 Wit Da Hoodie @hedgehog337 and Molly the Cat @JCarson each of these players have solidified there positions ahead of Cooke . But that moves Cooke from 27 to 6 . Cooke was FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY in the draft and wasn’t picked where he should’ve been or deserved to be picked . Every single other player picked ahead of Cooke has either went IA or proved to not be as valuable. To their Franchise.

Another instance where you could argue Cooke was FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY was losing out on the S88 Dustin Funk trophy for most improved player in the VHL . S88 was a coming out party for Cooke to establish himself in the VHL and he did that and more . Absolutely shattering previous career highs , and without a doubt being a deserving candidate for the Funk trophy . In many peoples Opinions Cooke deserved to take it home even .

Many professional hockey minds also think Cooke has been FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY and overlooked when it comes to the Scott Boulet trophy in past seasons , Cooke is a very good two way forward and continues to get better , A lot of insiders are wondering when he will break through and no longer be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY from the recognition he deserves oh so much.

Now like I said I don’t totally feel this way at all and I tried to write as an insiders point of view in the media . Do I feel like Cooke has long been overlooked and maybe even slightly FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY in some aspects . Yes 100% , but at the same time I know he has to earn everything and work for it . And he’s finally getting some of that . Hopefully it continues because that man has worked hard to get where he is today !

( like I said the whole point of this spot was theme week and I severely over exaggerated how I actually feel to capture the theme ! )

thanks for giving this a read everyone ! Hope you all enjoyed it !
