  3. Merry winter and happy christmas everyone!
  4. +10 Harry Hagel (completely forgot about this, hope it's fine even though it's "late" since I've been past 100 for a bit)
  5. Passing mention huh I'll have to split this listen in parts since I only really commit to podcasts when walking to work
  6. Transaction ID: 20856980064872670 Free week 5 Uncapped TPE
  7. 1. As of this writing, we are 12 games into the season and our team is off to a much rougher than expected start! What are some things the team or management can do to right this ship? Pun intended, obviously. Not sure, probably try and get some higher caliber lines going strong to generate some more offense, right now we've been downplaying the minutes of several higher TPE skaters. 2. As a team we're performing below expectations, but looking at your individual stats, how do you feel you're performing personally? So far pretty average I'd say. I would have definitely expected to be scoring more assists this far, but that probably goes hand in hand with the lack of goals we're putting up. Other than that I know 100% that there's more to get out of my player so we just need to get it rolling somehow. Ice time has also felt quite underwhelming compared to last season but that's of course due to a number of factors. 3. For those of you who are new to the VHL, how has your experience been in the first week or two so far? For those of you aren't new to the league, what WERE your first impressions of the league back in the day? I came into the VHL community just before the previous season, so my start here was quite calm actually and it really got me eager to get into the draft etc - since I created my player right in the downtime between seasons. At least we got a junior showcase tournament! 4. Describe the type of player you are, or are striving to become! A true team player that will do his role well. Unselfishly be able to set up plays but also be able to play a physical game and generate morale boosts for his teammates. 5. Today I was (and probably still am) suffering from some kind of stomach flu/bug/food poisoning/maybe I'm dying. What are some things you like to do to make life a little easier on yourself on a sick day? I love to really make myself a little 'nest' on the couch. I'll grab everything I could possibly need, phone, laptop, chargers, all the remotes necessary, any medicines I'm taking etc. and just build a comfortable corner to lay in - and then play a movie. The big thing for me is to not think too long about what I want to watch because then I just end up browsing for ages, so the first pick I feel like "ooh maybe this one" I'll just press play instatly and tell myself it's okay to swap if it's not my cup of tea. 6. Do you watch/follow hockey in real life, and if so, who are your favourite teams and why? If not, then what sports (if any) do you prefer instead? Yes, I follow my local team in Sweden where I live, BIK Karlskoga - they play in the secondary swedish league. I watch all their games with only a few exceptions really. Other than that I mostly follow esports where my big interest lies in CS and watching NiP. But I do watch all sorts of CS games just due to general interest in the pro scene.
  8. Review: This looks 100% sick! Definitely one of the best graphics I've seen in a while. The colors and effects are incredible and so is the logo on the jersey. I don't mind the text, the placement of it makes sense to me since it makes "alex" look great on top of the white background. With that said it would have also worked just fine without the text, but I also see why you'd want it there. The only thing I'd change would be the '3d effect'/white color drop from the surname, it would have been cool to see if it was better with just 'flat text' on that black bar. Really sick overall, easily 10/10 from me.
  9. Review: Looks awesome! I love the overall style of the colors and 'filtering', how everything blends together pretty much. The only thing I can really think of is that the text is a bit hard to read with how it blends into the image, but it might be hard to change that up without messing with the overall image either. It already does have some shadow of course but giving it a bit of a more clear outline might have been cool. Or it could have worked the other way around and just make the text look weird Overall really nice, I like it! 8/10
  10. 1. S81 of the VHLM should begin on Wednesday! As a player, what are your goals for the upcoming season? I'm gonna try to stay on the same path I've been on since coming into Halifax really, but for this season I expect to develop into a more complete and well rounded player that can really be up there competing with the best defensemen in the league. 2. All told, we made SEVEN selections in the S81 Dispersal Draft on Saturday. What are your thoughts on acquisitions the team made? If you were one of the draftees, how did it feel to be drafted to Halifax? I think it looks good across the board, many players coming in and looks like we'll make a strong top defensive pairing and hopefully become a contender for this season. 3. Answering Press Conference questions is a form of training! What will you dedicate the points you earned from this task to? That's true! I'm currently debating with myself whether to bump up some points in scoring or not, but we'll see! 4. Our team has had the privilege of attracting a solid amount of brand new members to the team. If you're a more veteran member, what's a piece of advice you can offer to your new teammates? If you're new to the league, what's something that could be done that might make your entry into the league a smoother or more enjoyable experience? While I'm not completely new, I'm still very much not a veteran either seeing as this will only be my 2nd season in Halifax. The best short and concise tip I'll give is; don't forget that 2 extra TPE from practice facility! 5. As a real person, what are some of your favourite hobbies? Gaming in general, but particularly esports and competitive titles like CSGO. I used to work with Overwatch teams in the Contenders league (the minor league under Overwatch League basically) and I still have some contact with many professional players in various games, so following matches/teams in various corners of the esports world is something I do a lot 6. The VHL is home to a bunch of pretty cool custom logos. Which are your favourites? (You don't have to answer "Halifax" ) 100% agreed, there's so many really well made logos and they're all super sick. There's of course a few that since the beginning caught my eye a bit more, can't really say why but I've always really liked HC Davos, Toronto Legion and Malmö Nighthawks!
  11. Review: Nice one! I can't say it appeals too much to me on a personal level, not a big fan of red on red really, but I like what you're going for! I think it's really neat that you've placed the layer of the goalie in front of the upper text, but behind the lower one, it adds nicely to the depth of the image together with the shadow behind the goalie. I probably would have preferred to have shadow cast from the text as well though, and have it be the same angle as the shadow from the goalie. I think that might have given it a bit more of a 'neat' feeling, because imo the red glow together with the red background, red player outfit and red outline is just a bit much
  12. Review: Definitely not bad if you're saying you suck at graphics and stuff Great choice of image and the placement of the added text/img isn't bad either, I only wish the logo wasn't so zoomed/blurred or whatever you could call it, I guess more HD is what I'm referring to at least. Other than that my only piece of constructive criticism would be to att some form of outline to the text since the white letters kind of get lost in the black & white background a bit too much for my personal liking. Keep it up! 5/10
  13. 1. With only 5 games left in the season and playoffs closing in are you excited? What are you looking forward to the most? Since this will be the first conclusion of a season since I came around to the community I'm honestly just excited to watch it play out or unfold. Excited to see the seasonal transition I suppose. 2. We currently sit 5th overall, 2 points back of Houston and 3 points ahead of Philadelphia. Do you think we can pass Houston? Will Philly pass us? I think we'll end up sitting where we are, with Houston above and Philly below us. 5. How is our locker room? Is there anything you would like to see added or removed from it? I'm really not one of the chatty ones, but I do really love it in the locker room. Chill place and always a fun chat with people on the rare occasions I pop in, mostly I lurk and read a bit here and there tbh. 6. How am I doing as an AGM? Is there anything I could do better or something you would like to see me start doing? I think you've been doing a good job, especially with these press conferences I think. I'd definitely welcome more "favourite food"-questions and stuff like that though, simply because it's fun to see your teammates answers to serious topics, like which pizza topping is the best 7. If you could star in any movie, past, present, or future, which one would it be? Ooh, very tough one... Maybe The Matrix so I'd have been the modern day Keanu Reeves hahah 8. Chocolate or vanilla? Which is your favourite and what's your favourite chocolate or vanilla dessert? Old fashioned vanilla ice cream is the best!
  14. 2. Our GM has made a flurry of signings in the past week signing 8 players since October 10th. What do you think of these signings? Are you excited to see what these players can do for out team? I think they've all been great additions so far, and I'm definitely looking forward to see how we perform with a lot less bots on the ice (in the literal sense) 3. What do you think of the ice time you are getting? Too little? Just right? If it were to change how would that affect your player? I've been happy with getting quite a lot of ice time from the very beginning, I don't really know if it would have a negative impact to get more however, but overall I've been happy with it. 4. We currently sit 3rd in our conference and 6th overall. Do you see us making the playoffs? If not, how can we improve our chances? I definitely think we've got a bit more to give and can hopefully step up the game a bit further with the new players that have come into the team. I'll say yes, to the playoffs and beyond! 5. We are 6-3 in our last 10 games, what has your player contributed the most to in your opinion? Even from the start with a rather low TPE I think my player has been able to steadily contribute on the offense with a consistent flow of points coming from assists. So I'd probably say the biggest contribution from my player would be setting up the offense and allow our incredible forwards to put the puck in the net. But lately there's also been an increase in Harry's own scoring so that's also nice of course. 6. Our powerplay currently sits at 26.29% (5th) and our penalty kill at 73.95% (5th). Is this good enough or should we try and improve on these numbers? I wouldn't say it's too bad, all things considered, but definitely something we could push a tad further. Hopefully it's something that will come with player additions and we'll be able to push our overall effectiveness a little bit more. 7. Where is your go-to vacation destination and why? While I do really enjoy travelling, I don't really have a place that I've traveled back to multiple times, at least not outside of Sweden. But one of my favorite vacations of all time was actually a mix of a vacation and study trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. When I was a kid my family often went to an island in Sweden called "Öland" which was always super lovely, so that's a desination that I'll always hold dear I guess. Other than that I really love the idea of making my home so comfortable during vacation that I don't even feel the need to go anywhere, so I suppose I'm also a staycation kind of person
  15. 1. How do you feel about your players performance so far? I'm pretty happy with it to be honest, I have been pretty busy the last week or two (and looks like I will be for a few upcoming weeks as well) so I haven't been where I really wanted to be in terms of TPE gain - but to me it's a marathon and not a sprint so I'll take it I guess! 2. It's theme week!! How do you like the theme? What's the your plans for it? I think it's a really cool theme that let's people do something different with their 'regular' PT ideas and I started thinking about some sort of graphic myself, but haven't had the time to give it much more thought, so we'll see if I get to sit down and come up with something or if I'll have to let it slide this week. 3. What is the most important part of being a good teammate? Looking after each other is probably one of my top things in that regard. Smply to help each other be their best self, both on and off the ice. 4. How do you come back after a bad game? Take some sort of break to cool off a bit, then load up with more chicken nuggets probably. 5. Do you have a favorite pregame meal? if so what is it? Dare I say chicken nuggets? 6. What's your favorite song right now? Love race by MGK & Kellin Quinn. I loved that song when it came out and hearing it in NHL 22 now made me put it back in my spotify "rotation" so right now it's probably one of my most played songs.
  16. 1. The Halifax 21st have officially adopted Chicken Nugget Dreamland as the team song. What song would be your player's song and why? Anything from Blink 182's TOYPAJ album. Probably Anthem pt. 2 cause it's a totally underestimated banger! 2. With only two returning players this season, why is Bryn Yrwy your favourite? HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES 3. We have two Swedish players on the team. What is your favourite Swedish thing and why? Ikea? ABBA? Vat? This awesome lil' thing called "allemansrätten" or "the right of public access" to make a rough translation, worth looking up if you don't know about it! 4. Saskatoon Wild has a new interim GM, BarzalGoat. Do you want him to succeed in his job or should we beat him? Beat them, for sure. 5. Do you have any pets? If yes, how do they support you when you play games? If no, do you want one? Yes! I have a norwegian forest cat called Neville, he definitely cheers for us but in a very laid back 'sleeping-on-my-mousepad' kind of way. 6. What is the most important requirement when hiring for our new AGM if Dan doesn't come back? Any special requests? That the new AGM coming in embodies the atmosphere we've had in the team!
  17. 1. 2nd in the division! What do you attribute our success to? I think our forwards have been doing a great job on the offense, it's definitely easier to win games when you've got these guys putting pucks in the net! 2. Even though our goalie is a bot, how do you bond on your time off the ice? I try to bond as much as possible with the bots on the team, and I think they deserve some credit as well so they don't go all Matrix machine style on us. Most recently me and the goalie shared a (virtual?) post game drink, I ordered a cold beer and he had a nice tall glass of motor oil to keep all the moving parts running smooth. 3. What is the best sauce to dip a McNugget? Regular chicken nugget if different? Dunno if this is a thing elsewhere but McDonalds in Sweden recently (last year or so) added a truffle dip which does wonder to a nugget if you ask me. 4. What is your favorite pizza topping, and what is your favorite 2-topping pizza combo? Definitely kebab, and if I have to choose two it's kebab + sauce. 5. Do you have any interesting dietary restrictions (ie not eating fish, meat, cheese, etc) which you think are peculiar or noteworthy? If not, what's the most interesting thing you've ever eaten? I'm allergic to nuts, that's about it. As far as interesting goes I can't come to think of much besides octopus which I don't think is THAT wild, but yeah I had a really nice grilled piece of octopus marinated with a bunch of chilis and other stuff. 6. How many hot dogs could you eat in 10 mins, yes buns included, your choice of condiment. Hmm. I could probably down 4 under 5 minutes, but after that each one would take longer/be harder to swallow I think. So I'll say I could probably eat 6-7 in 10min.
  18. Despite being completely new to this community and basically not knowing anyone, this put a genuine smile on my face while reading. Glad to have arrived in your locker room!
  19. Very nice and cool colors, also funny idea to make the color theme 'ice cold' when the name is Fire I like how the first name aligns on top of the last name neatly between those two 'edge points' so to speak. I kinda wish the full "FIRE" text (including the shadow) was visible though and didn't 'cut' the edges of the F and the E. Not sure that would improve the overall look though, but something that caught my eye. Nice one! 7/10
  20. Hella nice graphic! I love how the background kinda 'flows' behind the player and that the colors match really well, but at the same time not too much so that it would 'blur out' the edge of the background and the player's jersey. My one tiny bit of critique would be the fact that the middle (the L and the A) bit of "GODLANDER" meshes with the jersey number in a weird way, probably due to it being white and the 'shadow' of the text is white as well. At the same time it might have been weird to have another color for the shadow specifically for the "LA" bit. Big 9/10 from me!
  21. Following the theme from the last wallpaper style graphic I made, I of course had to make one for my new home in Halifax! Tried a bunch of different stuff with this that I wasn't happy with, so for now I'll just settle with this and get going with ideas for a new one instead. Not super satisfied with this one but still kept a decently clean look so perhaps someone will like it more than myself https://i.imgur.com/d8xnbVO.jpg
  22. 1. Some old faces some new, what's your favorite way to pass the time in Halifax (so far) if you're new, or from a veteran's perspective if you've been here before? Haven't really gotten that much of a feel for it yet to be completely honest, but I've had a great time chatting with my new team in the locker room so far. 2. With Jacob and Bryn returning we have some veteran presence, how have they been in the team's locker room? Like I touched on a tiny bit above, I've had a great time chatting with the team so far, so I can only say they've been very nice to me as one of the new faces and very welcoming. 3. With Jorgen, Maple, and Harry we have some new faces, how have we been welcoming them or how have they felt welcomed so far? It's honestly felt very easy to come into the locker room after being greeted with such kindness and just an overall great atmosphere. Just reaching out to chat with the new guys has felt very nice for me as I'm of course one of them. 4. What is your goal for this season as a player? Gain experience and learn the ins and outs of the league further. 5. What is your goal for the team this year? Of course you'll always want to win but this being my first season I really want to put more emphasis on learning and 'getting into it' so I'll value development over long winstreaks this season for sure. 6. Do you have any pre-game superstitious which you practice, or, are you planning on finding one? Not yet, I'll have to figure something out though.
  23. Quite simple but neat wallpaper I made with the Brigade logo using Affinity Designer https://i.imgur.com/e52Y78I.jpg
