Yeah, beyond a certain point it does become rather meaningless. As you're just putting it into attributes that arguably makes your player worse at doing what it *should* be doing. But more TPE earlier in a career means that you can get to where you are a difference maker quicker. So I agree that TPE eventually stops matter as much. But that doesn't make early TPE worse. That being said, having the overall stance of "if it's cool, do it" is good because it enables the community to do stuff without fear of having it shut down as a power move by the league. Which I do believe is very healthy for the growth of the league. Not being the highest TPE earner in your class..How could you?! I mean that being said I'm 99.9% certain that barring some absurd Fantasy luck I have about a popsicle's chance in hell of being the max earner in my class. So I'm not really in a position to judge.

It was very brave of you to post this @Berocka @dasboot @bigAL! But really what we learned today is that Berocka is the worlds worst hipster. bigAL hates TPE, dasboot loves TPE and as predicted I did in fact ruin my sleep schedule again. So thanks? Also, this podcast chose to focus on Ginger beer(?) instead of Dorritos. So that's progress, I think? 10/10 would listen to Berocka slowly dying on the inside as all his ideas get stolen again.

YES! We won the first game. So technically for a brief second while the Sim was going Miami was sitting at 4-20 on the season. SUCK IT! We now officially have the moral victory, Wooo! Glad to hear it. I actually caught myself being so excited that a new week rolled over this morning. To get back at making the dumbest GFX possible and continue growing Bo. As someone coming out of a loooooong depression, that excitement is something I haven't felt in a while. So the VHL experience thus far has been just amazing.

Yeah, I can't just not earn. I just misunderstood the cutoff as 199 TPA, not TPE. I though you could basically just sit there and still spam tasks and accrue unspent for a season. I have to max earn. That's just how I am. So that in itself means that I am moving on no matter what, I just wish there was a way not to. Without deliberately stunting your growth.

Yeah, but that's the thing. If they don't they just lose out on potential picks for next year. The fact that I can't stay another year makes being traded probably the best thing I can do for the team long term. Which feels pretty backwards. But that's just kinda how it is. The season is still young enough that we can make a miracle comeback though (as long as you keep soft-tanking in Halifax).

@Daniel Janser Yeah I already talked with the AGM @nurx primarily about the season thus far and that it may eventually come to that at some point etc. while we were talking about if it was possible to stay down 1 more year. It's more a me thing, wanting to have given my all at every level to leave something to be proud of, I guess. Normally being too loyal tends to hold me back, so I guess the VHL is forcing me to not repeat that too much. But one more season in the M would have been fun. Though (assuming Västerås doesn't draft me out of spite) I will probably have an amazing time in the E and meet a bunch of cool people there as well. So I'm not worried about that. But it is a mindset that isn't necessarily being catered to with how it currently works. But again, if it was being catered to there would be too much room for abusing it to min/max.

Okay, so I can give something on the side of @Moon at least. As I think it was yesterday or the day before that I asked (as a 1st gen) without knowing anything about this "Anti-E" bias, if it was possible to just stop applying points at 199 to stay in the M for one more season. My reason for it would have been very simple: Loyalty. Miami gave me a shot at basically unlimited minutes and any and all opportunities my player could ever ask for. But for the vast majority of this season, the fact of the matter is that as a 1st gen I won't be able to give them the kind of performance I want to. If I just max earn a full season then end up in the E the next season it will feel like I didn't "pay my dues" to my first team. Which doesn't really sit right with me personally. But it quickly became apparently that doing so and just hoarding TPE wasn't allowed. Which basically means that any ambitious 1st gen on a non-contending team will just be trade bait at some point in their first season. Uprooting them right as they start making connections in the locker room, which honestly kinda sucks. Based on the points made about TPE scumming/abusing the system if doing what I wanted to do (for more predatory reasons). It's now obvious to me why it isn't allowed, but it still makes it feel like you are basically forced into being a bit of a journeyman right off the bat as a max earner. Not saying I have a solution, just that it irks me. So at least it's one relatively unbiased reason for why someone might want to stay down. Also there's a risk I may end up in Västerås, and that would be brutal for IRL reasons. I swear to god Västerås, if you draft me I'm going to have to get on the train and probably be late (because your train station does absolutely suck) but eventually arrive and leave a harshly worded letter at your HQ. There shall be "dålig stämning" for days I tell you!

Playing against Miami's backup goalie 11 times in a row to start the season "may" have helped with that. So it's probably true that they shouldn't be that high. But they also have massive morale as a result, so who knows? Don't underestimate the forwards in San Diego, they have The Board Game Clue on Skates.
