Usually it's just that it's "too much" and basically aimed at looking "cool" whereas professional graphic designers usually aim for "clean" and "professional" as more of their fighting words. But then that is usually because they aren't making forums sigs. If either of those posted graphics were forums sigs it would have been fine. But if they are marketing material for multi-billion dollar corporations, then that is really not okay. It's like you rocking up to a corporate meeting in your rave gear. There's nothing wrong with your rave gear, at a rave. It's just that in a corporate meeting it would make you look like you're 12 and lost. That's about the closest comparison I can make. Edit: Like if I showed her my forum sig she would facepalm. And rightfully so, because it's meant to be over the top like forum sigs should be. That's been what they've looked like stylistically since before some people on these forums were born. Because back then making something that looked that flashy was so hard in like Photoshop 5. That it was a flex just to be able to produce the effects. Eventually it became part of the forum culture, so here we are.

I mean yeah, it's just a pain. I never buy anything on the bone so I don't even necessarily think of it as chicken. As I never consume it myself.

@Beaviss I very, very nearly put "Stabbing in the Dark" with Ice Nine Kills as Bo's favourite song in his trivia portion of the scouting report. I was going to say that it reminded him of how he feels every time he tries to shoot the puck. But decided to go with "We got the Moves" with Eskimoo Callboy for the egregious amount of German-ness on display in the music video. Your 2021 Playback Soundcloud is what I listened to most this year. Both of the top two entries I didn't actually listen to that much. It was more that they were for artists who I felt got buried by the algorithm/who I follow on YT. So I ran their listens up until the algorithm "un-f*cked" them (at least LIZOT). Downside being that Soundcloud now thinks I'm German and keeps spamming me with really bad German rap...No good deed goes unpunished, I guess? Honestly the main reason practically everything is relatively high pace EDM is 1) That and really shitty rap is just about the only things you can find on Soundcloud and 2) I use music as a coffee replacement. I'm one of those people whose pulse auto-matches the BPM of whatever I listen to. So I always have highish BPM music in the background when I work/play to stay alert. But every once in a while I have to listen to some alt rock or metal. The absolutely epic 2013 Wacken performance by Nightwish has been seen/listened to more times than I can count this year. Other favourites include "Still Counting" with Volbeat, "I'm not a Vampire (Revamped)" with Falling in Reverse, "The Gathering" with Delain ft. Marco Hietala, "Digital World" with Amaranthe and last but not least the aforementioned "Stabbing in the Dark" with Ice Nine Kills. If I'm feeling nostalgic I'll go back to some "Hospital" or "The Bird and the Worm" by The Used. I really do listen to basically everything, probably with jazz and soul being the most under represented by far. And more recently with VHL podcasts being over represented.

I mean it really is pretty hard to go wrong with chicken. Though most nuggets are about as far from actual chicken that something named chicken can be. Since there's usually not really any "meat" in them per se. Unless you get the really good ones made from fillet. But those are pretty rare, at least in Sweden. I'm personally going to throw in my "chicken of the year" award for slow cooked chicken curries/stews of all varities.

Yeah, I understood that was the reasoning, that's why I said somewhat arbitrary, instead of arbitrary:P Like I get why you did it, and without knowing about the median thing you had no reason not to. But in practice it results in "voter apathy" and "perfection" giving the same output in the survey. That false positive will, ironically, make it so your survey should give a statistically more favorable outcome for the mods. Which I'm guessing wasn't your intent. It's really funny when you do know about something like that and you look at a survey and see that the only big outlier was the only question where it was applicable. Sometimes things like these feel so "theoretical" that they don't apply, unless working with massive sample sizes. But picking the median, instead of having to think about what you really believe is so deeply human that we can't stop ourselves, unless we feel very strongly about the question at hand. It's part of what makes survey and study results such a mess. It's incredibly easy to accidentally get false positives. And thus as a result, also incredibly easy to create false positives where they suit your needs. But since this basically goes against what I perceive to be your personal stance. It's very obvious it was unintentional. But it's a good thing to keep in mind if you ever need to trick people and look out for in the work of others. Or you might get bamboozled! This response pretty much highlights the biggest issue with the Hogan ban. For 4 months he didn't get the feedback that he couldn't keep doing that. Which leads to the insecurity in other people second guessing if what they have been doing is/isn't fine. The ban itself wasn't the issue, but the 4 month lag was a pretty massive issue. Because it introduces doubt, and when you ask about said doubt you get no answer. Which leads to more insecurity and doubt, and Yoda would probably find some way to conclude that that leads to the dark side. But yeah this whole thing was a good read. I'm way too new to have any specific views on anything aside from the quote above. But overall this has felt like one of the most open and welcoming communities I've joined. Though I only really keep to the forum and team discord, not the league discord. So no idea what's going on there. Though based on this survey it seems quite a lot of the questionable stuff happens in there. From a sociology standpoint I really like that you used a grading scale where the average is 5.5. A number that you literally cannot pick. Because as it turns out, if you are given a 1-5 scale. Everyone and their mom picks 3, because it's the middle choice*. That being said I think the clarification on the 1-9 with 5 being average for moderation volume was needlessly unclear on if 1 was too harsh or too lenient. Which is probably the cause of that 1, that was supposed to be a 9. You really could have interpreted it either way, based on the given information. *Note that on the Volume question you (somewhat arbitrarily) picked 1-9 as the scale, instead of 1-10. Compare your results on that graph with the others and you will see this in effect. 5 is the middle number there, and 5 is over-represented. Human beings are so predictable...

The angle is brutal. In the original picture the Hurricanes logo looks off too. Because it's one of those angles that makes it looks like it isn't centered, even though it clearly was. The size of the Marauders logo is actually the exact same height the Canes logo was (also centered on the same spot). But yeah it looks a bit off, but as mentioned so did the actual logo. So might just be what happens when a jersey is in that position?

The one exception being the ones that are lined with so much damn chocolate on the inside that it's really a chocolate cone with some waffle attached.

Really enjoyed the read @Arce. It gave a quick and dirty insight into the VHL. I'm just focusing on the M right now, as that's where I'm playing. So if you keep these reports up over the season, I'll for sure keep reading them. First missed typo "Cetner" To be fair their defense does need to be untied. But second typo still. Which still puts you at fewer typos past proof-reading than all but 1 novel that I read this summer. So if it's above pro level it's good enough, really. The one thing I would note, but this might just be a me thing. Is that around the last 2 team reports the format started feeling slightly too formulaic to the point that I started to speedread it instead of hanging at every word, like I did in the first 3 or so team reports. That being said, it's spreadsheet hockey. It is going to get formulaic at some point, so what can you do? The fact that I even need to bring up something that minor is, if anything, a sign of how high the overall level was. Also technically not a review, just liked the article enough to want to give feedback. Besides I usually give my review scores in the form of math problems, so you likely don't want one.

@Peace A really good read. Especially as a new player. It really managed to put a lot of things I've been wondering about into perspective. About what the expected TPE/development of players looks like, and how a GM at the VHL level looks at said prospects. It's always hard to know where you slot in as a new player with lots of ambition. But reading this has me pumped to push for a high pick in my draft class. Formatting, grammar and overall content was the best I've read so far in media spotlights, and it's honestly not even close. So big kudos for that. Also obligatory this isn't a review, but it's a review so I'll stick a (sqrt(361)/2)/sqrt(4(5^2)) as the score, just to be annoying.
