Last few times we did we lost.. The one year we didn't we won.. lol.

Anyways, Let's hope we can back into the swings next season. I had a lot of shit come up in my personal life in the past two months which kind of limited my effort level on the forums due to sheer exhaustion. Got a promotion and found out I'll be having a kid in the new year... So yeah.. I'm kinda settles with both huge changes, and I'm hoping that means I'll be less wiped when I get home from work, which hopefully translates into being hard as fuck active.. Maybe even break out the DJ.plugs again.

But yeah, it would have been nice to win this season, but there's always next season 8)

    Position – Name – Talent – Potential

    F – Xin Xei Xao – 10.0 – A
Xin Xei Xao is mythical giant Asian likely right out of the Dynasty Warrior game itself.  He is likely the most gifted offensive player out of this draft and possibly for many drafts to come.  He was second in the league with eighty-six goals scored.  What really sets Xao apart though is how physical he has been yet still able to be so effective offensively.  With 387 hits on the season it was good enough for second which also led to the second most penalty minutes.  Look for Xao in the VHL next season trying to win the Rookie of the Year award.

    D – Godavari Yumalatopinto – 10.0 - A
The six foot eight inch 245 pound monster from Delhi has taken the VHL by storm.  At seventy-seven points he recorded more than a point per game despite being a defenseman.  The craziest part is he was fourth in shooting with a 16.11%.  A great offensive d-man prospect who could use a bit more rounding out in his own zone.  Expect Yumalatopinto to make the leap to the VHL starting in Season 36.

    F – Robin Gow – 9.5 – A-
Robin is the son of former VHL defenseman Jim Gow.  Born in the historical Philadelphia Penslyvania he has the blue collar work ethic that Americans love to root for.  Gow is the most talented center out of the draft and a very gifted two-way player.  With the Ottawa Lynx this season he was able to put up the second most points in the league with 145 and lead the league in assists with ninety-seven.  There is no doubt that he is VHL ready and would be great as the cornerstone to build a franchise around.

    F - Damon Tyrael – 9.0 – B
Tyrael has connections to former Dynamo goalie Satan.  That gives him a great in on a VHL path but also makes some wary of the great start he has had in the minors.  This purely offensive prospect has shown flashes of potential but came late onto the scene.  Despite playing in just sixty-eight games he was able to put up 72 points.  Currently he is a borderline second line VHL forward who needs to round out his play overall to prevent being a liability in the pros.

    F – Robert Gow III – 8.5 – B-
Robert also has VHL pedigree background and is cousin to Robin Gow.  They both played on the Ottawa Lynx this season but Robert was outshined by the amazing season of his relative.  Scouts feel he fell through the cracks on a very talent team which is why his stats don’t necessarily translate on the ice.  He did manage to put up twenty-one points on the season a majority thirteen coming as assists.  Like his cousin he is currently known as a playmaker but might need another season in the minors to develop.

    D - Andrey Zadorov – 8.0 – B
Zadorov is an offensive d-man and actually out produced our another of our top prospects Yumalatopinto.  Many feel though that he just doesn’t have quite the same skillset to translate into the pros though.  In seventy-two games Zadorov managed to put up 84 points.  The Russian defenseman has ties to former VHL player Brody Hodgson and many believe their careers may run in parallel.  Zadorov will likely be a solid VHL player one day but since he keeps his head down and just plays many times he gets over looked.

    D - Phil Villeneuve – 7.5 – C+
This man is an offensive force not to be reckoned with.  After bursting onto the scene though he has appeared less interested in a professional hockey career.  Even by just going through the motions he was able to put up 102 points this season eight-five of them being assists.  If he finds his passion once again he is a top line defender otherwise he could be a life long VHLMer.

    D - Triton Jackson – 7.5 – D-
Mr. Jackson was an early favorite to go near the top of the first round.  While he still has the talent to one day become a potential VHL pro he currently has been very lazy.  Reports say that since the VHL has relocated its headquarters he hasn’t even reported back to his minor league team.

    D - David Januzaj – 7.0 – C+
This is another sad case of a VHLM player who burst onto the scene with tremendous talent.  Out of the gates he was seen as a middle to top end first round draft pick.  He likely shares the same fate as other Season 35 Draftee Phil Villeneuve.  They both have history together and it is rumored that as one goes so does the other.

    D - Sami Kravinen – 6.0 – C+
Kravinen is a latecomer to the minors this season appearing in just sixty games.  He did manage to put up thirty-one solid points and has shown the potential to someday make a VHL team.  Expect him to get drafted near the end of the first round as a long term project for some team to work with.  His player agent has a negative history around the league which could potentially hurt his draft stock.

    F - DuJuan Cook – 6.0 – D
Cook is the only other center in this draft that has shown any sort of promise.  The position is very important for any team so he will likely still get taken at the start of the second or late in the first round.  With the Oslo Storm he managed to put up fifty-one points on the season which is nothing to joke about.  He doesn’t currently seem very interested in taking his game to the next level but could be a late pick steal.

SEASON THIRTY-SIX MOCK DRAFT     It’s hard to believe that any sim league would make to thirty six seasons, but here we are, on the verge of the Season Thirty-Six Entry Draft.   While the Reign and Americans had two of the worst seasons in recent history, the Seattle Bears, the fourth worst team in the league won the lottery and the chance to pick first overall.    1.       Seattle Bears – RW - Xin Xie Xiao (191 TPE)   After trading Brendan McQueen to the Reign for Defenseman Edwin Encarnacion, GM Greg Harbinson will look to build his forward core.  Xiao put up 128 points, good enough for fifth in the league in scoring, along with 387 hits.  His two way play should be enough to sway Seattle into taking first overall.    2.       Riga Reign – D - Godavari Yumalatopinto (201 TPE)   Mike has expressed interest in building up his defensive core over the next two drafts.  What better way would it be than to start with one of the best defensive prospects in recent history than with Godvari Yumalatopinto.  While he didn’t set the world on fire with his production in the VHLM, it’s the high ceiling of his potential that makes him a very attractive prospect, and the likely second overall pick.   3.       New York Americans – C - Robin Gow (170 TPE)   The third overall pick could turn out to be the best player in the entire draft if he plays as well as he has in the VHLM.  Robin Gow recorded the second highest number of points in the entire VHLM with 145, as well as the second best face-off percentage with a 55% face-off percentage.  The Americans will more than be happy to draft the centerman with the third overall pick.    4.       Vasteras Iron Eagles – RW – Damon Tyrael (136 TPE)   This is where things begin to get interesting.  There are two right wingers who are both hovering around the same amount of practice hours.  I believe the first picked of the two will be Damon Tyrael.  Tyrael has slightly more TPE, but more importantly has been a better performer in the VHLM.  Tyrael put up 72 points in 68 games.  It will be interesting to see if he goes fourth or fifth.   5.       Riga Reign – RW – Robert Gow III (121 TPE)   Robert Gow  III could go fourth, but in my opinion RGIII will slip to the fifth spot due to his low production in the VHLM.  Putting up just 21 points, Gow had a very quiet season with Ottawa.  He also only recorded 32 hits and 2 blocked shots, dismissing any claims of being a two-way forward.  Gow will need to put a better effort on the ice once he reaches the VHL level.  However, his activity should be able to convince Riga to draft him with their second pick in the first round.     6.       Toronto Legion – D – Andrey Zadorov (95 TPE)   The Toronto Legion will look to build their defensive corps with their first round draft pick.  They will more than likely pick Andrey Zadorov with sixth overall.  Zadorov played well for the Blades, putting up 84 points (top ten for defensemen) and 130 blocked shots.  Zadorov could be selected earlier, but I think the Legion are able to take him at six and be very happy campers.    7.       Riga Reign – D – Phil Villeneuve (79 TPE)   The Reign select again, this time taking Phil Villeneuve, a defenseman.  While he has been relatively quiet with practice, Villeneuve has played very well, putting up 102 points and 109 blocked shots.  His point totals put him fourth in the league in defensive scoring.  Villeneuve could turn out to be a gigantic steal if he makes his way to the practice rink more than once in a blue moon.    8.       Riga Reign – C - DuJuan Cook (51 TPE)   While the Reign could go with another defenseman in the first round, they more than likely go forward with their fourth pick in the round.  After Gow there isn’t a whole lot of promising forward prospects.  Cook put up just 51 points in Oslo, along with a 51 percent face-off percentage.  Cook will more than likely be in the minors or be a career depth player for the Reign.   9.       New York Americans – D – Sami Kravinen (53 TPE)   Kravinen could end up being the steal of the draft should he continue attending practice regularly.  He put up just 31 points in 60 games, but also put up 129 hits.  His defensive game does need work, with just 28 blocked shots as a defenseman, although that could come with time.  Kravinen is one of the only active players remaining, and the Americans should select him with one of their last picks in the first round.   10.   New York Americans – D – David Januzaj (72 TPE)   David Januzaj is another recreate, and like Phil Villeneuve, he has failed to show up to practice. He put up just 29 points, along with a measly 66 blocked shots.  While he has been inactive, Januzaj will likely be a first round draft pick due to his pedigree.  Should Januzaj become active, the Americans will have picked another gem.     In my opinion, the first six players are a cut above the rest.  Any of the top three could go first overall, which should make for a very interesting draft.

I read every one since I've been back which is all of them on this site. Always read them on the old site and always will read them. Probably one of the single greatest additions to the league. Can't wait to read the draftees rankings article since I am one.

Bratislava looks forward to Season 36

After mortgaging their way to a Championship win in Season 33, Bratislava looks like they may be at it again. They have three firsts in the first round of S36, and still a first in the S37 draft. GM Wong has been known to flip his picks to ensure they are all in the same year. With players like Mario Corvia and Lauris Prikulis developing into VHLM superstars, it seems as if the Watchmen are close to filling a team of talented players.

The upcoming draft is filled with top young defenders and one all-star goalie. There's little doubt the Watchmen are targeting Martin Brookside, as well as another defenceman to add to Prikulis. However, they've always been known for their offence-first style of play. There has been talks of Bratislava moving an S37 pick to acquire a top end scoring threat for next season.

Although most of this is speculation, it is exciting to see some of the new players being created, and how they may fit in with the Watchmen.
