  1. George Richmond Biography George Richmond grew up in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. As a child, Richmond always loved hockey as his father would take him to the local hockey rink to watch the Chicago Steel play and he loved every second of it. After joining the local hockey team, Richmond quickly became a local sensation at a young age. However, despite being a good hockey player and having the locals know about him, he never ended up playing for a very prestigious team. Eventually, he ended up going into high school where he would play for his high school team. They weren’t the best, but it was very clear that he was the best player on the team, where he would put up impressive numbers freshman year, putting up a point-per-game. The season would end with the team failing to qualify for the playoffs, as he would enter sophomore year of high school. One game, when they were playing their rivals, Richmond ended up scoring a highlight reel goal, dangling through three players and firing it top shelf to win the game in overtime. Unknown to Richmond, a scout was there and just so happened to watch him play where after the game, he would get invited to a USHL prospect camp at the age of 16, where players would range from 16-18 years old at the camp. He would then run into Walter Fitzroy Jr, who was an eligible draft pick for the S90 VHL draft, as he would skate with him during the camp. Walter was an unbelievable talent, as he could skate around everyone with ease and look like a living highlight reel on the ice, nobody could keep up with him! After practice, Richmond ended up talking to Fitzroy for a couple of minutes and wished him the best of luck in the draft. A couple days later, he ended up watching the VHL draft where he saw right before his eyes, Walter Fitzroy Jr going second overall to the Toronto Legion. He then knew that he could have what it took to go to the big leagues, wanting to one day, play with or against Walter Fitzroy Jr. A day later, George Richmond got a call from the director of the USHL prospect camp letting him know that while he was impressive at his age, he would not be invited to the next stage of the camp. Richmond was heartbroken and knew that he was just as good as the other players, but unfortunately, he didn’t make the cut. He would then go through sophomore, junior, and senior year where he would dominate high school, setting records for the school and helping to lead them to the state championship, where they would play at the United Center, the stadium where the Chicago Blackhawks would play! He was honored to be able to play in such an arena, so excited that he couldn’t fall asleep the night before. Game day had finally come for the young superstar as he made his way into the arena, getting ready to play his rivals for the last time of his career. At the arena, there were multiple college scouts looking at the young man seeing how he would perform on a big stage. Richmond’s team would end up going down early as his rivals would take a 2-0 lead early, however that’s when he had his chance. On the powerplay, Richmond wound up a one timer where he would have an empty net, a free goal! However, he ended up shanking it to the left of the net where his coach was furious and benched him the rest of the game. Richmond’s team would end up losing 5-4, where his goal could’ve been the difference maker. He then knew that he wouldn’t have many offers for college, so he decided to take on another path, to the VHL. Richmond was an impressive shooter and although having rough finals, it doesn’t take away from the fact that he had an impressive high school career. Looking to the future, Richmond will be waiting to bring his powerful shot to the VHL and attempt to win some hardware. Although the league is tough, many people believe he has what it takes to become the next superstar and be the face of a franchise for many years to come. However, he won’t be able to go straight to the VHL, as he’ll have to start in the minors and make his way up to the big leagues. He has multiple offers from teams in the minors as he’ll bring many options to the table for the team he ends up joining. Not only is Richmond an impressive shooter, he has the hockey vision to be able to always find his teammates, no matter where on the ice. The biggest question many people have is how he’ll adapt to the league, as the VHLM, VHLE, and the VHL are all different. Another question many people have is if he’ll be able to bulk up, which some people believe he won’t. Regardless, Richmond has an important decision to make and he’s ready to dominate the league. 860+ Words
  2. George Richmond Prospect Scouting Report Name: George Richmond Position: Center Height: 6’6” Weight: 220 lbs Hometown: Chicago, Illinois George Richmond was born in Chicago, Illinois and is making his way to the VHL. Richmond before joining the league was known for his height and lengthy frame, which drew interest from other scouts and general managers around the league. Although not fully developed, Richmond has many pros and cons to his game that he’ll be looking to bring to the table come draft day. PROS: Skating: Richmond was always a good skater growing up and with his long legs is able to easily blow by the opposition. A stride comparable to Jack Eichel, Richmond focuses on power from his lengths in long strides instead of quick short strides. This helps him utilize his height and explosive speed to deceive opponents and get around them with ease. Explosive Shot: On top of that, Richmond has an explosive shot, being able to fire one timers around one hundred miles per hour. This comes from his upper body strength and being able to release the puck with speed that very few can pull off in the VHL. Although at the moment it’s not the most accurate, if it hits the net, it can beat even the best goaltenders in the league. Hockey Vision: The last highlight of his game is his hockey vision. Richmond has been praised by multiple scouts and general managers for being able to “find the correct play” on the ice. He’s able to make a quick decision depending on the situation he’s in and find himself in a favorable situation, which the high end players in the game are able to do. CONS: Strength: Although very strong on the puck, Richmond is still growing into his body and needs to gain more muscle. He has a strong shot, but sometimes gets bodied in one-on-one scenarios with a defenseman and it’s a downside for his game. However, he’s started to hit the gym and bulk up, looking to make this a positive for the future. Defensive Zone Coverage: Another negative in Richmond’s game is his defensive zone coverage. A full blown offensive goal scorer that can find the open ice in the offensive zone, however lacks defensive instinct. This is something that’ll most likely plague him in the early days, but is very fixable with a defensive coach in the future. Will always make the “best” play, not necessarily the “correct” play: Richmond has been known to sometimes look off teammates as he believes that he has a better shot than most of the league. This doesn’t mean that he won’t pass to his teammates, however, if he believes he has a better chance to score, he will take the shot instead of passing, even if his teammate is wide open. This is something that is heavily criticized by scouts, however it’s something he’s been working on. 480+ Words

  10. My S90 NA Conference Power Rankings If you're looking for super smart analysis and breaking down teams and why they're ranked, this isn't going to be the article for you. This was looking for literally five minutes at teams in NA and just throwing down my thoughts of who'll be where at the end of the standings. Lets get into it! 1) Toronto Legion It seems like Toronto this season is stacked. They've added Sogaard, Lavelle, and Yasilievich to their team who should be able to carry this team to a first place finish. They should be towards the top of the standings and if they don't go to at least the conference finals, it's a pretty bad season in my books. 2) Vancouver Wolves Second I've got Vancouver who were the finalists from NA last season coming in second. Honestly, I could see this team finishing first as they've got Maple, Bouchard, and Payne leading the charge for the team. They also have one of the best blue line this season and fantastic prospects upcoming for them. I could see them going all the way. 3) Seattle Bears The third best team in my eyes is the Seattle Bears. On paper, this team could for sure crack first and there is not much of a difference between the top three. With players like Bobandy, Goncalves, Bogatyrev, and also Wallob, they are stacked and will be one of the best teams in the league. Another favorite from NA as these three teams should be the teams to duke it out during the season. 4) Los Angeles Stars Alright, this is where NA falls off a cliff. The Stars are mid. They're not going to be super bad, but they won't be amazing either. They've got Cooke and Dynamite, then with Murray on D and Vandelay in net. However, they lack more firepower than the top three, but they're for sure better than the bottom four teams in my mind. They should win the wildcard and get eliminated in the actual first round of the playoffs. 5) D.C. Dragons This is where the teams start to get bad. I think D.C. is the best of the worst, because they actually have a couple players that aren't half bad. They've got Jason and Sakamoto who are not franchise players, but superstars in their own right. They just really lack depth. They've got a couple players that can hang with the best, but without depth they'll struggle against the best teams. They'll probably fall to LA in the wildcard round. 6) Calgary Wranglers Alright, now we're entering trash tier. Calgary has Strasmore and a bunch of sub 600 TPE players. Their starting goalie is average. They're going to be bad and try to secure a high pick in the draft. That's about it. 7) Chicago Phoenix Yeah, this team is screwed. They don't even have a superstar really, just Sundin and Johansson. They're going to be the bottom of the barrel and they'll need a miracle to even scrape 5th in the conference. However, that was all apart of their plan, so not all is bad. 8- New York Americans (idk cant put 8 ) because it turns into some cool dude face) Yeah, I don't really know what's going on here. An accidental rebuild? A forced rebuild? Hey, regardless they'll be getting a top pick so that's going to help them in the long term! Best off-season: Toronto Legion Worst off-season: New York Americans Sorry New York for the hate, nothing against you guys. Also why do half the teams in NA have like a shade of red as their main color? I am not against it, just thought it was interesting.
  11. That's actually crazy. I'll retire a number in a couple seasons or so when I've got everything situated.
  12. S90 Chicago Phoenix Captains We are happy to welcome in the new leadership group this season that'll help usher in the new age for Chicago! We will rise from the ashes and prove once again that the Phoenix are a force to be reckoned with in season to come! ALTERNATE CAPTAIN #1 - Ivan Retoslav - @eagle_3450 Joined through free agency, Retoslav has proved time and time again they have the consistency to be a solid player in the league. Consistency will be key for the roster this season and hopefully Ivan can bring stabilization to the team. ALTERNATE CAPTAIN #2 - Calix Pearce - @Laine Calix Pearce comes out of retirement (basically) to play one last season with the Phoenix who are looking for veteran mentors to help light up the path for the young players. Pearce will be a solid addition to the leadership group and we're happy to have them! CAPTAIN - Scotty Sundin - @fromtheinside A player that's been with Chicago since day one and the face of the franchise will wear the "C" this season under new management. Looking to help usher in the new age, Sundin will be relied heavily upon up until retirement! Honorable Mention - Bo Johansson - @Shindigs Although not officially wearing a letter this season and IA, we want to honor Shindigs and everything he did for Chicago before going inactive. We thank you for your contributions to Chicago!
  13. We have to play extra backup games, I already was given the punishment.
  14. A B+ in my first off-season, can't really complain with that!
  15. 1. I think one thing I'm actively trying to get better at is talking to new people irl. I'm pretty introverted (surprisingly) and just trying to get some new friends. 2. I would say I'm not the worst at art, but I don't really enjoy it. I'm best at small pictures or something super detailed. 3. My favorite thing to do has to be watching hockey. I'm a diehard Sabres fan and I don't need any encouragement to watch them! Questions: 1. What's your favorite aspect of the VHL and why? 2. What is your favorite food and why do you enjoy it so much? 3. What is one thing you wish that you could change about your player (if you have one) and why?
  16. 1. You already know we're cupping. The team is stacked and it's time to win the league. 2. Cup or bust. I think we've got the team to do it! 3. I think there's a lot of players who can win awards, but I'm going to go with Sogaard. Dude is a beast and I can't wait to play with him. 4. Scoring. I re-rolled my build and I should be an absolute menace on the ice. 5. Sabres beating the Rangers in OT 2007 in the playoffs. 6. Hungary. I know Doom created a player from there and we need more!
  17. Feels nice, won’t be my last either!
