  1. Graphic Review: Starting off, we have an amazing graphic as always made by kirbithan. This graphic is for the AGM of Helsinki, and I love the color scheme fit into the graphic. It looks extremely nice and the text also fits very well with the background. The shading too and effects added are very nice. Personally, I would of added some sort of border maybe, but it's very small and it's pretty hard to pick something out, in my eyes, as this is a really nice graphic. On top of that, it's a female sig, which I feel like is pretty uncommon, so pretty cool to see at the end of the day. Overall, this was an amazing sig and I love the color scheme, background, and text that mesh together very well. Rating: 9.5/10
  2. Moscow Menace Disappoint and George Richmond Ghosts Moscow Menace out Early The Moscow Menace have fallen to the HC Davos Dynamo in a series 4-0, a sweep for Davos. The Menace are coming off of a cup win and unfortunately were not able to replicate their success last season, dropping 8 goals in 4 games. On top of that, they were unable to secure an OTW, dropping 3 OTLs in a row. It was a devastating time for Moscow fans, as most of them were expecting a deep run and not this massive upset by Davos, however, it is now a reality. George Richmond was not able to produce in the playoffs, with some people questioning his regular season performance. Despite dropping 80 points in 72 games played on the second line, Richmond was a minus for the first time in his VHL career, dropping a -5. On top of that, his goalscoring has slowed down, only having 32 goals this season with about 60 more shots on goal. This is concerning for Moscow fans who we're expecting somewhere around a 40 goal season from Richmond, and now he's stuck on a contract for another year. Richmond will most likely be staying on the second line and should he have another bad season, there could be the chance he could be moved to a different team. Heading into the playoffs, Richmond was expected to up his game, however, he was only able to drop 2 points in 4 games, with 1 goal and 1 assist. On top of that, he was also a minus in the playoffs, dropping a -4 in the 4 games played. Fans aren't too keen on Richmond and are expecting a huge bounce back the next season, or they'll be calling for his head. Richmond was asked about his regular season and playoff performance, to which he said, "I mean I didn't play well, don't know what more you want me to say. I feel like I for sure took a step back this season and need to step it up for the next season. My playoffs was abysmal and I can understand why the fans expect more from me. As for the future, I need to come in with a different mindset and be able to finish the chances given to me. I believe if I'm able to up my game, I will be the best second line player in the league and can help with depth scoring." Richmond also changed his game a bit this season, going away more from offensive goalscoring and playmaking to more of a power forward role. Richmond dropping 99 penalties minutes this season, including 7 fights on the year. Richmond stated that he was, "just trying to protect his star players", but he for sure got under the skin of the other players this season. Moving forward, Richmond wishes to be more of a scorer, but he's not against stepping back and taking a lesser role, should it be to help the team. Regardless, eventually Richmond will get his chance and it will be interesting to see what he will be able to do being the face of the team for the future.
  3. Answers 1) I think the biggest upset has to be Davos beating Moscow in 4 games. It's pretty crazy they're able to come up and just smack around Moscow like that, especially after a cup. 2) I would have to go with Apple or something to be able to get free electronics. I'll take a free iPhone! 3) My biggest "what if" is that if Derrick Rose didn't get injured, how good would he have been? As a Bulls fan, I feel like he would've been an absolute stud and it was unfortunate his career basically ended with his injury. Questions 1) Who is the most underrated player in the NHL and why? 2) What is your go to snack if you could pick anything? Why is it your go to? 3) Out of the remaining four VHL teams, who do you think is going to win it all and why?
  4. GG. I'm sure you guys will be back next season and take another step. You've got a fantastic team and you're an amazing GM. Your time is coming without a doubt.
  5. I mean, first ever series win. Didn't really expect it. Vancouver is an exceptional team and I'm glad STHS decided to pick us to move on!
  6. Graphic Review: Starting off, it looks like we have a goalie sig coming from Corco. I like the text choice you ended up going with, and it ends up contrasting with the background. The Lightning is a nice touch added to the graphic as well. As for starters, I would end up changing the color of the lightning and the text to match the color of blue that the goalie has. That way it just looks nice and blends in with the graphic. Next, I would probably add some shadows to make the text stand out a bit more. Regardless, you did a great job and I'm sure you'll get better! Score: 7.5/10
  7. Chicago is great at making the playoffs/overperforming. Just don't ask what we do in the playoffs. (WE HAVE YET TO WIN A SERIES WITH ME AS GM)

  9. Chicago and Richmond Gear Up for Playoffs Chicago Phoenix Tough First Round Opponent The Chicago Phoenix finished third place in the NA conference this season, putting up a 45-23-4 record, the best under the current GM. The Phoenix are pretty similar to last season, however, some much needed depth upgrades helped the team to improve. Led by Spanish Moon Moth, this team has the core four players, each dropping over 90 points for the team. Mancini, Oven, and Schwarzer have helped Moon Moth carry the load and seem to be the main pieces heading into the playoffs if the Phoenix are to go far. Up against them though, they're lined up against a stacked Vancouver team. One of the hottest teams in the VHL, the Vancouver Wolves were able to secure second place in NA on the last day, and the home ice advantage. Vancouver has 5 players above 1000+ TPA and they're all in this season to try to compete for the cup. They're led by Liv Slater, who swapped up and decided it's time to play forward, dropping 94 points this season. This team is more about depth scoring, where as Chicago is more top heavy in scoring. As we can see though, this is a recipe for success as last season, Moscow had crazy depth and ended up winning it all. This series is going to be an absolute battle, with close games and honestly, most likely going to go 7 games at the end. I think either team can win, but most people will give Vancouver the slight edge as they're coming into the playoffs on a 8 game win streak and are the hottest team recently. Chicago though, always seems to have STHS on their side, so they might have a fighting chance to take down the super team. It's going to take a lot of effort, but Chicago could finally win their first series under the current GM and finally end a curse. George Richmond Prepares for the Tough Task Ahead In the other conference, George Richmond is coming off a great season, dropping 80 points for the first time in his career. Playing on the second line, Richmond has cemented himself as one of the best depth pieces in the league and he's sacrificed to make Moscow a great team. Whether that be ice time, or dropping the gloves a whopping 9 times according to Scurvy this season, Richmond has taken on a power forward role with this team and isn't afraid to toss the body around. However, for the first time in his career, Richmond is a minus, dropping a -5 despite having 80 points on the year. He'll have to take care of that in playoffs, otherwise, fans might see him as a liability and a reason why Moscow could potentially fail to secure another championship. However, Richmond has improved every single season and come playoff time, he's shown he can turn it up another notch. Richmond will be preparing specifically for Davos, as he wants to take them down. Regardless, Richmond is dialed in and ready to play Davos in the first round of the playoffs.
  10. Answers 1. My current player is in the VHL, but it will be interesting to see how much the changes impact the leagues. 2. I think it's got to do with what the word actually means, or have an easier meaning. 3. The latest movie I ended up re-watching was A Quiet Place on the plane ride just a couple hours ago! Questions 1. Do you like the new changes being brought in, condensing the E/M? Why or why not? 2. What is your favorite TV Series of all time? Would you recommend it to others? 3. What do you think is the hardest spot to learn? Why?
  11. A potential look at playoff matchups for Chicago The Likely Chicago Phoenix will most likely finish second in the conference, as they currently hold a 5 point gap over the Seattle Bears. Assuming we finished second in the conference, we can most likely look at who we're going to be playing in the first round, which would be one of two teams: The Seattle Bears, or The Vancouver Wolves. Starting off with the Seattle Bears, Chicago holds a 3-0-0 record against them this season, with two more games waiting to be played. However, one thing to note is that two of these games were decided by 1 goal, with the other being a 2 goal affair. This series would be extremely close as last season, Chicago was able to take Seattle to 7 games, unfortunately failing to complete the 3-1 comeback. This would be an amazing series that could go either way. The stats do favor the Phoenix in this series, but as we know in playoffs, anything can happen. Next up the second likely matchup is the Vancouver Wolves. Vancouver sits one point behind Seattle and has a high chance to finish third place and play Chicago. Chicago currently has a 3-2-0 record against Vancouver, with one more game at the end of the season waiting to be played. Chicago would struggle more against Vancouver than Seattle, so the ideal matchup would be Seattle in the first round as well for the storyline. I believe if we went against Vancouver it would easily go 6-7 games, and Vancouver could take the series. Regardless, both these matchups would be extremely close and probably a great series, to which Chicago could finally reach the second round for the first time in a very long time. The Unlikely The one unlikely scenario is that Calgary somehow finds a way to slip into third place to play Chicago. I feel like everything else is pretty impossible, so we'll focus on this one as the last one. Chicago has played Calgary 5 times this season and holds a 4-0-1 record against them. I honestly believe Calgary would be the easiest matchup for Chicago, despite being undefeated against Seattle. I think we could beat Calgary in 5 games, and that we would probably take care of them pretty fast. However, one thing to note is that a wildcard every single season seems to become god and run the table. So it could be Calgary and that would be extremely scary to go against. Regardless, I feel like we'd take care of business there, but again anything can happen in playoffs. Overall Overall, I feel like coming into the playoffs this is probably the best team we're going to have for a while. I feel like the team is set up pretty well and there's not many holes. This might be the final run for this team as we have a ton of players potentially going to FA and we need to make some noise come playoff time. I need to win a series this playoffs and the pressure is for sure on. I believe this team can go far with the right luck and STHS seems to love Chicago for some reason. I'm looking forward to the playoffs and anyone can win!
  12. Answers 1. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the Taco Bell one with the talking dog. It's pretty funny but ultimately, it's stupid. 2. George Richmond. I think as of writing this he has 9 fights somehow LOL. 3. If we're talking underrated, I'll go with puck handling. Questions 1. Football Sunday is back! If you watch the NFL, how did your team do today? If not, which team would you root for if you had to choose? 2. How is your VHL player doing? Do you think they are overperforming or underperforming this season? 3. Which VHL team do you think will surprise come playoff time?
  13. Who Will Win Rookie of the Year? Hello everyone! In this article, I'll be looking at the top five candidates (in my eyes) for rookie of the year in the VHL. This will include any skater eligible for the award, not goalie. Let's get right to it! Favorite: Maverick Goncalves (MOS) - 51GP 27G 26A 53P +44 - 1st in Rookie Scoring Description: Maverick Goncalves is in my eyes, the obvious favorite to win rookie of the year. They've got a great resume 51 games in, with having over a point-per-game as a rookie and an impressive +44 on the season. You could argue that these numbers are inflated due to the fact that they are on a good team, but a rookie putting up (most likely) 30+ goals is impressive. On top of that, they're one of the main contributors on Moscow and could find themselves easily landing this award. Runner-up: Med (PRG) - 49GP 19G 26A 45P -29 - 3rd in Rookie Scoring Description: The reason I have Med in second place, despite being 3rd in scoring is due to the fact he is severely team gapped. Prague is a team that is rebuilding and with that, the +/- numbers are not going to look as impressive compared to the other players. It's a bit brutal, however, they're just under a point-per-game on a team that is struggling in the standings and is looking forward to another high draft pick. However, this could go both ways, where you could argue that Med only has these numbers due to the fact he quite literally only has 3 other forward teammates. Outside looking in: Wally Lose (VAN) - 49GP 22G 25A 47P -20 - 2nd in Rookie Scoring Description: Wally Lose has had a fantastic season with LA, putting up an impressive 47 points and honestly, having a very close stat line to Med. However, the quality of teammates is what is going to make me think he will end up placing third, due to the fact his teammates are better than Prague's, even if by a little. Regardless, Wally Lose has 22 goals in his rookie campaign and will be looking to eye 30 at the end of the season. A 30 goal rookie campaign might help him be in discussions for ROTY at the end of the season. Outside looking in: Lazlo Holmes (PRG) - 49GP 14G 27A 41P -46 - 5th in Rookie Scoring Description: The first defenseman on this list, I have Holmes being just outside like Wally Lose. However, I think that Holmes putting up these point totals on a team that's struggling, while being a defenseman could give him a great case for rookie of the year. Scoring 14 goals as a defenseman is pretty impressive, let alone being able to do it as a rookie. On top of that, if he's able to get to 20 goals this season, you could argue 20 goals as a defenseman is more impressive than 30 as a forward. Regardless, don't rule out Lazlo Holmes for a potential ROTY bid. Outside looking in: Felicia Hardy (DAV) - 51GP 8G 35A 43P -11 - 4th in Rookie Scoring Description: The last player on this list, and the second defense is Felicia Hardy. Hardy has had a great season with Davos, putting up 35 assists and easily on their way to 40 assists on the season with probably over 10 goals. However, racking up assists just isn't as impressive as being a defenseman who pots goals, so I have them below Lazlo Holmes for that specific reason, despite having more points. On top of that, Davos has a more put together team than Prague, hence why they're a bit further down the list. However, if they're able to pop off in the remaining 20 or so games, they could sneak themselves into the conversation without a doubt.
  14. Answers 1. I would give with #72 due to the fact Tage Thompson is my favorite player and my player is a center. 2. It depends who said player is honestly. If it's like Crosby, McDavid, or some crazy player, I'd just give them the number for free. 3. My player is going to become a coach I think. It would be pretty cool to see him continue his coaching career. Questions 1. If the VHL were to add another franchise, what would you name it and why? 2. What is your favorite sport (besides hockey) to watch/play? Is there a specific reason? 3. Who do you think is going to win the cup in the VHL and why?
  15. As long as I get my GOAT Josh Allen idc im getting the chip
  16. Idk anything about football, literally anything. But it would be hilarious, so I'm down.
  17. My Last Second Media Spot Chicago Phoenix Alright, I'll keep it a buck. I completely forgot to do my media spot this week and now I'm speed running 500 words. The Chicago Phoenix are currently tied for first place in NA, with a record of 24-10-3. I think coming into the season most people had us placed anywhere from 3rd-5th, as although we've slightly improved the team, we haven't made any huge steps. We did end up addressing our depth and our top end talent is quite good, but most our players are banking to be able to sit at a certain TPA amount their entire career, which in turn makes them higher salary currently. I have no problem with this though, as they're still doing pretty solid and leading us to tied for first, so no problem here. Ryan currently is having an absolute GOTY type season, where he has a 21-9-3 record, with a .924 sv% and a 2.52 GAA. He's doing fantastic for us and I hope we can help him get 40+ wins this season to possibly help him make a case for GOTY. He's had some mediocre seasons before that, so I believe it's deserved. Meanwhile, a lot of our players are having great seasons, especially Mancini, Moon moth, Schwarzer, and Oven. They seem to be our main four scorers moving forward and I'm hoping our team can do some damage come playoff time (I've never won a playoff series). Moscow Menace (My Player) Don't even get me started about George Richmond. Now disclaimer before I go off on my player, I'm on the 2nd line and with more of the lower TPA players, so my scoring is going to be down for sure. However, I have 1k+ TPE and I'm just over a point-per-game with 44 points in 37 games played. That's actually pretty solid to be honest, but it's more the fact that I'm a -5 on the season. I know a lot of people do not care about +/-, but I would at least like to be a + player in my career, every season if possible. I'm currently a +31 in my career and under a point-per-game, so I guess it's not going that bad. However, I'd like to at least get 50 goals once in my career, and I'm not too far off my final build (around like 180 TPE). Hopefully my player can step it up, but regardless, it's not that deep because I ended up winning the cup riding the bench not doing a whole lot . I do want to at least win an award once with this player, I don't really care what the award is. I guess I have won an award, but it was more of a team award, so now I'm hoping to get an individual award. My main goal would to be to go back to back and keep winning with this player, which I feel like Moscow has a good chance to do this season. We've broken the curse so why not just keep winning? That would be fantastic for everyone involved on Moscow, but I'm sure the league would hate it!
  18. Answers 1. Ryan Artyomov having a good year. I swear his sv% always goes down somehow since S92, but this season he's going god mode. 2. I am worried. Sabres I say didn't really get better, and all the teams in the Atlantic are scary at this point. 3. @Kylrad Easily. He always ints me. Maybe he won't in real life... Questions 1. Have you seen any movies lately? If so, which one(s)? If not, is there one you want to see? 2. Which team in the VHL has surprised you the most and why? 3. Which division is the most stacked in the NHL and why?
  19. 500 Words About Random Things in the VHL George Richmond Sucks? You heard it here folks. George Richmond sucks. I don't know why he actually is not doing well, maybe it's because I can't build with players, or due to the depth on this team being pretty solid, but I feel like every player I've had (only two) are pretty mid. I have won the cup with both players, so that's a pretty big plus, but besides that I don't think I've really done much. Richmond has 24 points in 23 games played and is barely above a point-per-game, and a -4. By the way, we're 15-6-2 with a +25 GD, so that means Richmond is just terrible. I don't know if it's the build, my teammates, myself, don't really know, but I wish I could be doing better and actively helping my team. If we end up losing this season, I'm going to probably be the first finger to point at as I have around 1000 TPE and not really doing much. I hope I can turn it around and actually pick it up, being a valuable asset to Moscow. I would like to win an award eventually, don't really care what award it is. The Two-Way forward award would be really nice though, so maybe that one would be my favorite to win. Chicago Phoenix Off to a Good Start On another note, Chicago has been off to a good start, but NA is stacked. We need to continue to pick up wins, otherwise we're going to drop out of the playoffs fast. I don't really see any teams selling this season, hell, even LA is putting up a case to be a wildcard team. We lost to Prague, somehow, so we've got to wake up or we're going to drop in the standings. I probably could optimize my lineup better, but I don't think it's going to make much of a difference at the end of the day. NA is stacked and even one loss can hurt you, so we've got to step it up for sure moving forward. Random Ramblings First off, how does Shubham Anand have 44 points in 22 games played and why can't Richmond do that? Maybe my build compared to his is just not it, but those numbers are crazy. I wish one day we could see someone drop like 150+ points in this era, but it seems very unlikely. I don't know who it's going to be, but I hope someone can do it. 200 points or more would be absolute insanity, but honestly at this point in the VHL, probably impossible. We've already got two 20 goal scorers this season in Shubham Anand and Catia Goncalves, maybe they can drop 60? I mean probably not, but would be sick if they end up doing so. They aren't shooting that crazy high, around 12%, so I feel like maybe it's possible? Then again, I don't know the VHL average shooting %, usually I see anywhere between 8-10%, but I don't actually know the full average. Regardless, I hope some sort of record is broken this season cause it's always fun when those are broken. Thanks for reading this absolute chaos article. I don't even know what I was going for, but I really didn't have anything crazy to write this week.
  20. Yeah, I'm ready to completely ruin a franchise. First Chicago, next Halifax. @Grape

Do you have a favorite team?
  22. Graphic Review: Starting off, this is peak graphic design right here. Mixing the Looney Tunes with the VHL, the Vancouver Wolves especially is fantastic. I love everything that is added into this graphic, with the texture fitting in very nicely. On top of that, the details at "Starting: ..." is really nice. I guess for one suggestion, if you would want to go all in would to be to edit the "Released by: Warner Brothers" and change that to something else. However, that's such a small detail that I doubt people even will see it. Regardless, this was a fantastic graphic and I really liked it! Rating: 9.5/10
  23. Chicago Phoenix and George Richmond Great Starts to the Season Chicago Phoenix on Fire Early The Chicago Phoenix have started off the season 5-2-1, a very solid start to the season and find themselves second in NA currently. On paper, this will be Chicago's best roster they've put together and they need to do some serious damage in the playoffs, otherwise, the team's future could be in question. With lots of players not having contracts after this season, it's do or die for the Phoenix where they will either rise to the occasion, or burn into ashes. "The pressure is for sure on, we need to show up this season," said GM Cole H. They know that no matter what, they have to at least win a series with the ultimate goal being the cup at the end of the season. Led by star defenseman YaBoi Oven, the team looks destined to make some noise in the playoffs and finally win a series under Cole H. Last season, they came back down 3-1 against Seattle, only to lose Game 7. A lot of players from that team are returning though, as Chicago didn't make many big moves in the off-season. With the departure of UghSike, they were able to bring in better depth in Laakkonen, who has been fantastic so far for the team, dropping 10 points in 8 games played. We'll see what they're going to bring come playoff time, but playoffs shouldn't be a guarantee as NA is stacked. George Richmond Goalscoring Machine George Richmond is heading into his third season where he should be able to finally make some noise. In the past two seasons, Richmond has failed to break the point-per-game mark, however, his playoff performance last year helped him ink a two year extension with the Moscow Menace. Richmond put up 25 points in 21 games played with a +10 on route to the cup last season, so the extension was warranted as the young center seems to finally be honing his game. Just 9 games into the season, Richmond already has 7 goals, with 12 points and a +1. On top of that, he's already had a 4 goal game and seems destined to break his career high in goals with 35. However, one thing seems to plague Richmond his entire career, where he starts off extremely hot in the first half, then becomes a ghost in the second half of the regular season. Many analysts have attributed it to conditioning, as Richmond is playing over 25 minutes a night as a forward, which can tire out players extremely fast. In the off-season, Richmond trained on his cardio and conditioning, hoping to be able to stop the slump in the second half of the season. Regardless, Richmond will have to play a bigger role this season if Moscow wants to repeat. With the departure of Axle Gunner, the team is going to need someone to step up and be their main man, which Richmond is primed to do. If he's able to help lead Moscow to yet another deep playoff run, he could be a very big piece for Moscow for a long time to come.
