After a win against the Miami Marauders Ivan Retoslav was announced as the second star, after his skate around he ended up throwing his stick into the stands. This move ended up sparking a fight in the stands for the stick, 3 people were injured during the scuffle which ended when security took the stick and brought it back to the locker room. Controversy arose when after leaving the locker room, Retoslav pushed through reporters and ignored questions about the incident. He went directly to his car and drove away. This is not normal for the young Russian who is normally very friendly and outgoing to reporters. Some people believe that this change is partially caused by how San Diego's season is going. When we reached out to the Marlins' GM, Frank, he did not have anything to say and completely denied any fault of Retoslav. Is this denial because Retoslav is their star player or is it because they believe that he did nothing wrong, no one will know. San Diego fans hope that this incident doesn't harm Retoslav's reputation and ant to let him know that they don't blame him for the incident. Earlier today Retoslav tweeted, "I apologize for the incident that occured when I threw my stick into the stands. I acknowledge that it was a mistake and I accept full responsibility for the injuries. I will be covering the medical cost for those who were injured, once again I am sorry." - @I.Retoslav on twitter. Whether this will send him into another slump remains to be seen, but hockey fans around the world hope it does not. Come back next week when we cover the current protests about how many leaves a tree must have to be considered a tree.
