Earlier today, Ivan Retoslav was spotted at the San Diego arena's practice area and we got the chance to ask him some questions, Let's get right into the answers that he gave us! Q: What were your expectations heading into the draft? A: "I honestly expected to go late 3rd round or early 4th, I never thought I would be drafted in the middle of the 2nd round. I also expected a team like LVA or Ottawa to pick me." Q: How do you feel about the locker room atmosphere and the GMs? A: "The team this season has a lot of good players, and they are all very active in the LR. We have a good atmosphere in there. The GMs have done an amazing job so far, they have been very helpful in guiding me and they have been supporting 100% of the time." Q: How excited are you for the season to start? A: " I am very excited for the season to stat, who wouldn't be? I am hoping to put up a decent amount of points and really contribute to the team!" Q: Do you think you will stay in the M for two seasons or move up to the E next season? A: "Honestly, I think I'm going to move up to the E next season. If I don't, who knows how much TPE ill miss out on?" Reporter: Well, I guess that's all the time we have, and we don't want to distract you from your training. Good luck on the season Ivan!

With the VHLM Draft now behind us, Ivan Retoslav is now officially a member of the San Diego Marlins. Everyone on Team Clue in the JST and in the Las Vegas Aces locker room told Retoslav that he wasn't giving himself any credit when he estimated that he was going to be in the 4th-5th round. It appears that they were all correct in their assumption as he was drafted by San Diego 17th overall. Retoslav, who is yet to have major success in his young career is now on a team that looks to be building for a championship run in Season 83. After coming 2nd in the JST and being knocked out of the WJC without a medal, the young Russian is excited to have a major role with San Diego if they do go for the championship next season. Retoslav commented that he was quote, "very excited" to play for the Marlins, and he hopes that he will put up some points. We have definitely seen what he can do, as in the playoffs of the JST he alone put up 5 points in 12 games. Meanwhile in the WJC he put up 2 points in 4 games. Retoslav's point totals seem to be consistently around 0.5 points per game, so we can estimate that he will rack up around 36 points in his first season in the VHLM.
