This was a very quick hour! I'm new to the league so it's extra interesting for me to get some perspective from the bygone era. I really enjoyed your mock draft too, for the insight into the condition of each league and because you had nice things to say about me. I've never met a VHLer in person, but that would be pretty cool. Hockey in general isn't supremely popular in Ohio, so I'm tickled just to meet an NHL fan, much less a VHL player. I'm just now picturing Napoleon with helmet hair for the first time and it's making me giggle. His face looks like it might be the reaction on the bench when the other team gets a goal, I love it.

I love all of this pre-draft hype, it’s really getting me pumped for Tuesday night! I didn’t know Tate was on such an impressive streak with his players but I kinda would like to see it continue. I don’t know him very well but from listening to his podcasts I get the impression that he’s a kind person who is passionate about the league, so that’s cool. Thanks for shouting out my little blue line boy, I’m very excited to see where I end up playing!

Top quality user going high in the first round? Makes sense to me! Hearing my kiddo vocalize is one of the greatest joys of my life, I know just what you mean! He's recently moved from saying "bye bye" to just saying "bye-yuh" and it warms my heart pretty thoroughly. It's fun to hear stories of other peoples' degenerate youths, as I had somewhat of one myself. I don't drink much tea either, for the same reason. Your podcasts are always a great time to listen to, thanks for keeping me entertained on a Friday afternoon at work!

Leave it to an old hockey player to waste $12 million trying to extend his career! Hopefully that works out for the best though and you end up getting some sort of benefit out of it. I plan to take the “don’t edit 3 TPE podcasts” advice too - editing takes way longer than it’s worth for the shorties.

Banking TPE should be more fun somehow. Maybe some type of award for reaching banked TPE thresholds? Banked TPE accrues interest? There's a solution out there for sure. I've never heard of Super Coach before this, very interesting! Looks like the trial went quite well, too. An interesting result is that players would be able to draft themselves without negatively impacting their fantasy team (as long as their player serves a useful purpose on the team, I guess).

I want to hear more about the process of frying rocks and how a person turns that into a career. You may consider this my formal application for the position. I have no experience or knowledge.

Addressing all of these points because it took me like four days to realize there were new replies to this thread: 1) In my defense, it was 25 minutes of raw audio that I cut down for your listening pleasure. That's why it sounds like I'm not a total idiot (I hope) 2) Steal it. Secret admirer is just bog standard stuff for every locker room starting today, it's official. 3) First impressions seem to be that people appreciate variety in the press conference questions, so I'm going to take that spice advice (adspice, obviously) and try to branch out into more interesting topics for future PCs. 4) Yes. Which adult in the room do we have to convince to greenlight this project? 5) Aww, shucks. T'weren't nothin'. 6) Yes, still active over there. It's not that it's bad over there, necessarily, they just need to modernize. 7) I have so little to offer in terms of league knowledge that I have to use the backing audio and stuff to establish authority, it's classic misdirection.

It’s spring time, what is your favorite type of flower? What is your favorite snack to eat while watching hockey? On a scale of 1 to 10, how good are you at ice skating? Hockey players often have missing or broken teeth - have you ever gotten one knocked out? If a special job opened on the site just for you, what would it be? What is your favorite fruit? If your player had to do an intermission interview, how sweaty and out of breath would they be? Are you working hard every shift, or are you a natural, effortless athlete?

He was making waves for a hot second, but then ended up on the IR list with an upper body injury and is still out of the lineup. Looking forward to him getting some more ice time in the future, though!

It seems like you're absolutely right about Oslo, starting from the bottom means that any progress is a success though! Whether my enthusiasm will translate into success as an AGM remains to be seen. I think you're spot on, I should probably just bookmark the handy guides that exist to forward on to new players if/when they ask. It's not that the material isn't there, and the GM/AGMs are literally there to help along the players who may not take to the process as quickly. Sorry about your eardrums, I'll try to be more conscious of that in the future. I don't think I did the post-processing magic on this episode that I did on the previous one. I saw some coverage about DeSmith disc golfing, seems like a cool dude. I'm not even upset about the CBJ hate, I'm just thankful that someone has any opinion of us whatsoever to validate our existence.
