  1. That's basically my plan. I'll be my hilarious, awesome self. It could very well become apparent to her that I'm interested, and if so, she can do with that what she wants. And not that I'm making her my world, but it's hard for me not to think about her when I'm lying in bed with nothing else on my mind. Or when I'm actually asleep dreaming about her, as the case was just before I woke up from 1.5 hours of sleep just now.
  2. Strange thing, I actually haven't had the urge to do so the past couple weeks. At all.
  3. This is kind of my thought too. I'd like to know the nature of her other relationship a little better, but I don't really have the means of finding that out, because I don't want to straight up talk to her about that. But if the relationship is shaky, then I want to present myself as another (better) option for her to make her mind up. Like, I want to make my intent clear and let her make her own mind up. My biggest concern is that yeah, it may ruin what could be a friendship, and if I knew that absolutely nothing more could come of this, then I think we could be good friends.
  4. Because where else can I come with my "girl problems" but the VHL. This one isn't quite as pathetic as the last time I made a thread like this, but it's still probably not worthy of a thread. But I don't have many people in my life with whom I talk about things like this, and it helps to calm me down and get the words out there, re-read what I just wrote, and realize that I need to just stop overthinking it. I'll try to be brief in case you actually care to read it. I work overnights at Wal-Mart. On my lunch breaks, I used to sometimes go over to the gas station nearby. This past winter, there was a new girl working there who I became interested in. I saw her there and we had short chats a couple times, and maybe the 4th or 5th time I saw her there, I asked her for her number. This was some time early in January I think. She informed me that she had a boyfriend, and that was that. I saw her there a few more times over the next couple of months, but she kind of fell out of my memory since then. That was, up until a couple weeks ago when I went into work and lo and behold, there she was. Apparently she was starting at Wal-Mart. I talked with her during our lunch break. She mentioned having moved to a city about an hour away where she lived with her boyfriend and his parents, but she came back because she broke up with her boyfriend (but they got back together). Even though they got back together, she said she wasn't going to move back, so she's here now, working overnights at Wal-Mart same as me. I talk with her on our lunch breaks and if we see each other in passing. Neither of us drive, so one day when she didn't have a ride home, at her request we walked together for the common 0.5 miles towards our respective homes. I very much enjoy talking with her, making her laugh. Last winter when I was interested in her, it wasn't a big deal, because I really hadn't spent any significant time with her apart from a few casual conversations. Now I'm getting somewhat of an idea what kind of person she is, at least on the surface, and I am even more interested. Infatuated, I might say. I don't know about obsessed, but when I'm at work (particularly on the days she is off) mindlessly stocking shelves, I can't help but think about her. The same goes for when I'm lying in bed trying to sleep 15 minutes ago. If I'm not doing something that requires an ounce of thought, I'm at risk of thinking about her. About her smile. About the way she looks at me; and that's something that I don't know what to think about. I'm not sure I've ever felt as sure as I do that a girl was interested in me as I do with this one. That's really not saying much, though. And I'm terrible at reading situations like this. Plus there's the whole boyfriend thing. The fact that she has mentioned that she still has a boyfriend is really the only thing that's stopping me from trying to "make a move." I don't know much about their relationship, how long they've been together or exactly how stable it is. She did mention that they broke up and got back together, so there's that. My desired outcome here is to end up in a relationship with this girl. She's super cool and has an awesome sense of humor. I'd like to think that just being friends would be alright, but I don't know. In the wise words of Sam Weir, "I don't need another friend. I already have two. I mean, how many more friends does a guy need?" /rant thanks for being an outlet VHL tl;dr Asked a girl for her number last January, she had a boyfriend. Now she works where I work. She mentioned that she broke up with her boyfriend but they got back together. She's super cool and I'm interested.
  5. I think the information on that S1 Calgary team is not to be found, though. It would have to have been documented on the second site and it doesn't seem to have been.
  6. More S20 Davos related research findings
  7. I just did a bit of research as well and I did find a team that had a better win streak than 22 games: S20 Dynamo won 24 in a row. Quebec has since passed that mark and I couldn't find anything on the win streaks of those early season teams that Victor mentioned, but I figured I would bring up that Davos squad because @Victor couldn't find them. However, it was thanks to Victor that I found it. Worth noting, the win streak came after they "solidified their blue line with the acquisition of Geno Esposito."
  8. My only goal during the regular season in the VHLM is to do well enough to receive the maximum 20 TPE from the achievement tracker. At the beginning of the season, I was doing great and this seemed like it'd be a breeze. Then there was a bit of a slump and I wasn't happy, but lately I've been seeing Maxwell playing better. Having my scoring attribute at 90 probably isn't the best thing for my overall game. I actually didn't realize when I put all those points there that there was a cap on applied TPE in the VHLM, though I think the only think I may have done differently was put 15 more points in defense to get that to 70 and have scoring at 85. But that's whatever. Anyway, having my scoring at 90, you'd think that my goals might be one of the stats that I'd end up using for the achievement tracker, but right now it's actually not part of my optimal set. Those are the options for forwards. Obviously I'll use my points, but beyond that there are really three stats of mine that I'm keeping an eye on: goals, hits, and +/- rating. Current stats || 72-game extrapolation = Projected achievement tracker bonus 61P || 105P = 11 TPE 32G || 55G = 6 TPE 54H || 93H = 6 TPE +22 || +38 = 6 TPE So at this moment I'd be looking at 17 TPE from the achievement tracker, but also I don't know how rounding works (eg 105P would be 10.5 and 55G would be 5.5; I don't know if that is 16 TPE or if both amounts are rounded up, which would make it 17). Regardless, I'm hoping to see better stats to improve that amount. Granted, it would only be three less TPE but whatever. I'd just rather get that maximum especially if my teammate and S50 rival Theo Axelsson is gonna get it. Time to check my word count. Yeah, this is definitely long enough.
  9. Brampton duo holding steady as top two draftees The Season 48 trade deadline marked the beginning of the Season 50 draft class, and around that time, there were several notable forwards to declare for the historic draft. While the class as a whole now includes more defensemen than anything else, the forwards are still the kings (and queen). Atop the rankings of draftees are Diana Maxwell, Theo Axelsson, Essian Ravenwing, and Asher Donovan. In particular, it is Maxwell and Axelsson who have come out ahead of the others, with Ravenwing and Donovan (who was at a slight disadvantage to begin with) falling a bit behind the top tier. Maxwell and Axelsson are currently teammates, having both been selected by the Brampton Blades in the first round of the Season 49 VHLM draft, with the former going 3rd and the latter falling all the way down to 8th. If the teams drafting at the top in S50 are looking for the best player available, Maxwell and Axelsson will be going one and two, in some order. Pretend one of these dudes is a girl, okay? Brampton currently holds the third best record in the VHLM with 57 points, two behind conference foe Yukon and one behind Bern, Europe's best. Maxwell and Axelsson, both right wings, have not played consistent minutes together, but at times they have been paired up with Sven Wolf centering them in a "don't hold back" line. It's hard to way whether the team has found more success with them working together, or spreading out the talent in order to always have a superstar on the ice, but both Maxwell and Axelsson have put up good numbers throughout the first 40 games. Axelsson is currently second in goals (33), points (66), and hits (157), making him a definite frontrunner for top two-way forward. Maxwell started off the season putting up gaudy numbers, but slumped for a while and has fallen to 4th in goals (30) and 5th in points (58). Between the two of them, it's easy to see that Axelsson is putting up better numbers, but there is a lot more to a prospect than the numbers they put up in the minors, considering the volatility of the VHLM. Still, Axelsson may be the better of the two prospects. He's a more rounded player than Maxwell is, who isn't doing much if she isn't scoring goals. Axelsson has also gained a slight edge on Maxwell in terms of training, but it's not such a significant edge that makes him an obvious choice for first overall. In a similar vein, this duo isn't even guaranteed to go one and two, as a team might simply prefer what they see in the long run out of Donovan, Ravenwing, or even someone else. Still, it's hard to look at these two players, Maxwell and Axelsson, and say that they aren't the two most developed players in the draft. I mean, they're so good that they've been restricted from improving since basically the beginning of the season.
  10. Predict the score for 3 TPE 205 Bratislava Watchmen vs Yukon Rush
  11. Pick the winners for 1 TPE 202 Bern Royals vs Ottawa Lynx 203 Moscow Red Wolves vs Brampton Blades 204 Oslo Storm vs Saskatoon Wild
  12. Winners in bold: 158 Bern Royals vs Brampton Blades 159 Moscow Red Wolves vs Oslo Storm 160 Bratislava Watchmen vs Saskatoon Wild no TPE for anyone!
  13. Ottawa won the game by a score of 3-2 The following people predicted such an outcome, and thus have earned themselves 3 uncapped TPE: no one
  14. Finally another multi goal game Also good to beat these dudes
  15. Idc that we won my shot percentage is tilting me
  16. If Seattle does miss the playoffs as I fully expect they will, Stockholm currently holds two lottery picks as well as two firsts in the S51 draft. Help is on the way, possibly including myself.
  17. I don't even think it'll be close between Riga and Helsinki at the end of the season. With Faux gone, the Reign have six forwards better than any of the four that the Titans have.
