  1. Happy birthday!
  2. I prefer to call it physical presents. I gift them to the other team!
  3. Unfortunately no, lol. I work for a private contractor tree company in Connecticut. Though that is a bit odd, we usually call trees against lines and such our problem not the customers. Sounds like your power company and town don't get along!
  4. I'm an Electrical Clearance Arborist.
  5. Fradin McGryer S91 - Riga 11 Goals (+2 from S90) 27 Assists (+0 from S90) 174 SOG (+58 from S90) 144 PIM (+52 from S90) 164 Hits (+22 from S90) 88 Blocked Shots (-86 from S90) 1 Playoff Series (+1 from S90) Riga Defenseman Fradin McGryer has finished his second season with the VHL. As the stats show, he's raised in nearly every category. Though Riga was hardly in the rough position as the rebuilding Calgary team from the season prior. The Boston native was traded over prior to the beginning of season 91, Calgary hopeful to shed one of it's more hard nosed players in hopes to speed up their rebuild. The scale of that success is too early to be measured, for both the Defenseman's career and the rebuild of Calgary. Fradin is no stranger to being traded about the league. He's never played more than a season for any team. He joined San Diego as an undrafted Free agent in season 88. Only to jump up to Vasteras the following season, traded a handful of games after to the no longer existent team of Geneva. After the dissolving of the Rush, McGryer was called up to Calgary. Where he learned under one of the VHL's grittier leaders, Phil Strasmore. A player that Fradin had throughout his second season, praised and expressed to be as much an idol as a mentor. That physical knowledge and experience was brought across the sea to Riga, where his hard hitting flourished. The Reign finished a point shy of leading the European Conference. The Assistant Captain, McGryer, went down swinging in typical fashion in the playoffs with a decisive bout against Wann Kerr of London. Though whatever is to be made of his past seasons, the present of the off season holds uncertainty for his future. "I understand it's no secret to anyone that my contract has ended this off season. I can honestly say i've no idea where i'm going for the future. That doesn't mean I won't stay here in Riga, but if they decide to allow me to go on my way, I will promise that you will see me on the ice at the very least playing for someone. Grit is not as beloved in this league by scouts as it once was. But no one can win a cup without it, and I will gladly go apply my talents.. if you could call them that, where they're wanted." With no official date for free agency yet on the calendars, it will be an interesting watch to see who will make offers for this high tempered third year defenseman. Rumors may swirl and speculation can run wild, though it's highly likely to be entirely snuffed out by a simple contract offer from Riga. Whom neither party has yet expressed displeasure in the other. Though, the same could've been said about any of McGryer's teams. The safer bet for your money could likely be to follow the trend of him leaving yet another team before playing two seasons for them. Who lands this Enforcer next? 515 words for 12/24/23
  6. 1. Better than expected for a team who lost so much of their core. At the heart, Captain Philly and Cow just seem to be ignoring the idea of the 'tank' and are thriving. 2. Much the same of how our games are actually going now, most if not all are close and I really couldn't ask for more. Although some more W's would be nice. 3. Rankings aside, Calgary should definitely be bringing the Janser name back to the squad! Rooting for Callum! 4. I've no opinion on the TDL, I think the draft is where we'll make the most change. 5. I've got a pup named Bear. A rescue dog I got a year ago. 6. Fall for sure. The afternoons are still relatively warm, and the whole day warrants sweater wearing.
  7. 1. Puckstopper M.D. has been fantastic given what we've set the goal for this season. He's taking the opportunity to remain hot and show he won't take a step back this season. 2. Rip's been great so far this season! Having a solid player on the lineup will never hurt as long as the rest of us live up to our potential and match his play. 3. I've personally no problem with 2FA, though I won't speak for everyone on this matter. 4. As being the man himself, I love a good roast. Meat, Potatoes, Green veggies. I like balanced and hearty meals and would share that love with the team. 5. Black coffee, Four eggs scrambled with bacon between two slices of toast. Hot sauce all over. 6. I played right defense for two years in high school. I was never much for skating, left it to the professionals as I returned to my focus of wrestling.
  8. Following tonight's game against the Toronto Legion, Rookie Alternate Captain Fradin McGryer of the Calgary Wranglers gave his thoughts on what it was like playing against his childhood icon, Ronan Lavelle. "Well. Awestruck is the biggest feeling I think I had at first. I mean, coming from Mass there's a big Irish presence there. And just growing up, watching him play and sort of modeling how I handle certain situations around him. It's obviously different, defender to winger. But a lot of that physical, hard nosed play is universal around the ice. I followed him since the start of his run in Geneva, and the guy just lit the lamp every year. I mean, who didn't love watching him? We played physical and obviously his team came out on top. I don't think him being on the other team affected my play any more than usual, despite my stints in the box. It was cool, the way he sort of joked about dropping gloves. A big respect thing, I obviously wasn't going to do it without a big enough reason. We exchanged a few hits, a joke or two between shifts. But it was very rewarding to work as hard as I did to get here, meet a hero of mine, and find he's just as good of a man as I hoped. And the way he continues to love the game? I still want to be just like that..." 240 words for 8/27
  9. In his first ten games at the VHL level, Rookie Alternate Captain Fradin McGryer has shouldered his way into the roster. Starting on the second pairing, the rookie defender has amounted seven points. Now this won't be a record pace or get him past rookie of the year frontrunner Jeff Lewis of Moscow who sits four points ahead of him. But given the rebuild Calgary is currently starting, playing this year strong despite the odds against his club could send a positive message to the rest of his locker room, management, and free agents of the following offseason. This rookie doesn't plan to keep his head down through a clear cut rebuild nor will he sit in the dark and let his first season go to waste. McGryer has amassed twenty-five hits, eighteen blocked shots, and ten penalty minutes. His PIMs, have all come over his last four games. Possibly pointing to his hot headed history in the lower leagues returning and becoming a highlight once more. This is a talented defensive defender, but Calgary certainly knew of his temper before the draft and likely planned on it putting butts in seats. With him wearing a letter behind Captain Phil Strasmore, whom is also no angel on the ice, Calgary's mission is seeming to come to light on relying on hard hits and lengthy penalty box sittings to keep fans interested. Frontrunning Calgary's point leaders, McGryer shares the top spot with fellow rookie Steve Lattimer, and Captain Phil Strasmore. The Boston native shared some insight into playing with Calgary's new Captain following his game with Toronto today. "...He's like the cool uncle, you know? He's all jokes, smiles, and loves to take you to random restaurants no one's heard of. But on the ice he gets that competitive side, where you have to treat him entirely differently so you don't mess up the fishing trip. I might be reaching too far into personal experience there, but that's just the best I can put it. Every night we step on that ice and there's no talks of 'tanking' or the like. We step on ready for battle and none of us want to let Philly down." Between Lattimer, Dilson, and McGryer it is becoming highly apparent just how good the development team is in Calgary. Their most recent success as an honorable mention, Vincent Leroche-Gagnier. The Wranglers had shipped off the bulk of their core following the retirement of Daniel Janser. With a plethora of picks in these next two drafts, this gives players like McGryer time to flourish and be ready to compliment the high level, young talent that Calgary is no doubt planning to infuse into their roster as fast as they can. Goaltender Merome Dilson has been playing well above expectations with this stripped Wranglers core, boasting a .935 with two shutouts already (One more than last season), Calgary did very well to keep him signed through Season 92. And with Captain Strasmore out there clearly keeping his team focused, this should be one of the quicker rebuilds in not only the franchise's, but the league's history. 519 words for 8/27

  12. You did really well with the implementation of the VHL Logo! Getting both the black and white versions on the center and the collar makes it look really authentic. The background blends in very well with the sunflare on the logo and lettering. I wasn't completely sold on the purple at first but after looking at it a little longer I think it blends in very well to make it more interesting than the black and white. Your choice in player model is excellent and the pose of said player works very well. This is professional grade work and it is clear you really put time and effort into these just like your signatures before. 10/10 from me.
  13. The Geneva Rush, soon to be rebranded and folded into the Vasteras Iron Eagles, fell in five games to the cup winning Cologne Express. The games were high shooting, hard hitting, and saw plenty of electric saves from the goaltending. And arguably one of the most notable players during that series from the Rush, Fradin McGryer, has now been revealed to have been playing through a fractured fibula. The defender recounts on exactly when he took such an injury. "...During game two, I was battling Keon Jeannot in front of the net. And I remember hearing the clap of a slapshot up by the blue line and next thing I know pain shot up my leg. It was swollen the size of a baseball down there but. Doubled up on socks and tape, played through for the boys..." McGryer had 4 points in 5 games. 26 hits and 20 blocked shots to lead the playoffs. He will be out four to six weeks in recovery at the facilities in Calgary, where he will be playing next season and his rookie VHL season at that. 184 words 8/6/2023
