  5. Q: How do you think has been the biggest winner and loser of the UFA period in the VHL this off-season? Why? I don't think there was anything overly huge happen. I didn't follow too closely. However, the defending champions did sign Board Game Clue on Skates, which likely is the biggest signing. I think overall teams don't rely on FA to build their teams, but I think the signings made all made sense. Q: All looked quiet in the wolves’ den this off season until a series of trades blew up the defensive core with Jimmy MacElroy @Xflexzbeing traded to Toronto for S89 Tor 2nd round pick (18th overall)? What was your first thoughts when you saw this trade? It;s unfortunately to lose a good member, but we were able to clear room for Brian Payne. I think it's an upgrade for the team, but it's always bittersweet when you have to ship a player off. Q: Hours later, an even bigger trade involving three team, seen Jens Lekman @Bobcat traded to LA Stars, Warsaw collecting a bunch of picks but more importantly Vancouver landing 2nd All-star team defender, Valiq - Top Offensive Defensemen, Wylde - Top Defensive Defensemen, & Labatte - Top Defensemen nominated Brian Payne @Scurvy from Warsaw!! What did you think of this trade and do you think two top defensemen in Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito & Payne @Scurvy work in Vancouver? Why or why not? Payne is a huge acquisition. I think that Bouchard has been needing this type of defense partner, and it's a huge get. I'm excited to see what the two will do. Payne has depreciated and levelled out his play since his dominant days of always being in award talks - but I still think he's going to be very effective for the Wolves. Q: After the two trades, it looked like Vancouver would run with two defenders heading into the season, do you think this would have worked for the team this season? Yes, I think this will be a great set up. We've seen it work in the past, and I'm pretty sure a few teams did it as recent as last season. I totally believe in loading up on two high TPE defensemen, and then running a deep forward core. I love the team make-up. Q: Trade continued to flow as Vancouver managers decide running two defenders too risky and completed a series of two more trade that seen the S89 Tor 2nd traded for S90 Cgy 2nd; which was quickly flipped with S90 Van 4th to DC for Reinhard von Kongming @Kylrad Completing or we are assuming completing the restructure of the wolves` defensive core. What do you think of the new defensive core and is it enough to help Vancouver win the Victory Cup and Continental Cup this coming season? Like I said in the previous Q, I think we are set up nicely. We are relying heavily on Payne and Bouchard, but I think they can handle the workload. Q: Awards and I am not going to do this justice since two Vancouver Wolves from S88 were nominated for awards with Eagles @Greg_Di being nominated for the Boulet - Top Two-Way Forward and Pierre Emile Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito being nominated for the Labatte - Top Defensemen. Which of these two players do you feel was more deserving of winning the award that they were nominated for? Why? I think they were both up against hard competition. They both had great years so it's nothing to be ashamed of not winning. They both made the Wolves proud even for just the nominations!
  6. Q: S88 of season seen the return of the Commissioner`s Cup; Do you like the idea of the Cup and did you follow the tournament willingly? Give me your general thoughts I think the idea is cool, I will always support more initiatives to create activity. I personally don't follow, but it's good for the league. Q: World Junior & World Cup are also taking place this off season; Are you paying attention to either tournament? Why or why not? I'm not sure if my player will make it to WC team. I think he's just a little too under-developed. I'll follow if I make it on the Nordic Team. Q: UFA starts Friday June 9th; Which confused me as I always thought it started on a Monday so do you like the new change to have UFA heading into a weekend? Why or why not? I don't think it really matters. Weekends are probably better for activity sake, but I really don't think it matters much. Q: Are you even paying attention to the UFA this season? Which players are you watching and why? Not really. I think we are set in Vancouver so that's all that matters to me. Q: Do you think we will see a clear-cut winner after the UFA period this season with some high-end talent all looking for new places to play? Which team and why? I'm sure we will see a winner. UFA is always a gamble, and I could see a few FA's playing as a package deal/ Q: Season goals or Career goals; what are you more focused on this season and what are your personal season or career goals? What do you need to accomplish them? Career goals are just to win a cup. I haven't had a cup in a few players, so I'd really like one. I thin our team can do it this year!
  7. Another Sunday, and another week of PT's almost missed due to a golf round. Getting a lot of golf in so far this year which is great - but quite expensive lmao. Summer is tough to stay motivated in the VHL, and I'm feeling it for sure. I think once we get through the off-season I'll be more active and enjoying following league related stuff again. There's a bunch of events for this off-season, but nothing that really calls to me or my player. We have the Commissioners Cup, World Juniors, Draft, Free Agency... I guess I am looking forward to Training Camp. Pretty cool for Vancouver to do an end of the year Franchise Award Ceremony. A lot of effort put into it for sure. Off to the PGA Canadian Open this weekend to watch some golf. Probably should do my point tasks for next week early in the week, but we all know I'll be doing this all again next sunday, hungover.
  8. Q: Seattle Bear or London United? London United, spoiler alert. Q: Peanut butter or Jelly? Why? Peanut Butter. It hard carries PB and J sandwiches. I legit eat a scoop of PB every night. Q: With the team awards being given out did any surprise you? Which one and why? I don't think there were any surprises. Really well done though. Vancouver pretty lucky to have an AGM willing to put in the work that @Gaikoku-hito puts in. Q: Is there any team award that you like to win next season or continue to win if you won it this season? I'd like to have a comeback season and help the Wolves win. I think qualifying for unsung hero would be cool. Q: Draft around the corner and Vancouver holds the S89 RIG 2nd so is there any player that Vancouver should be considering to draft with this pick or should they trade the pick? Definitely should look at taking @twists he should be around by then. Q: Riddle: What is seen in the middle of March and April that can’t be seen at the beginning or end of either month? R?
  9. Well, it's official; I've fallen off. The first time in at least three players where I've missed a week of TPE Earning. Last wekk was a long weekend, and I completely lost track of my days. I'm driving to golf on Monday, and I'm thinking to myself, I fell like I've forgotten something. Surely enough, instead of doing all my weeklies on Sunday as I usually do, I was watching the Petes game on TV and then went on Apex to grind some ranked. I'm sure the 12 TPE won't kill my player in the end, but as a person who likes to max out, it'll probably bug me for a while. Looking forward to the start of a fresh new off-season and hopefully a stronger season for my player next season. I'm not overly concerned with his play, however, I would have liked to help the Wolves a little more. I was basically a non-factor in the playoffs, and I really hope to change that. Been very busy at work with the summertime starting up. We did a huge Bottle Drive last weekend and raised over $1300, for the Canadian Cancer Society. As a company we have raised over $10M lifetime, and I'mn sure we will have a huge company-wide number to show from last weekend's bottle drive. I have some more summer plans coming up which are exciting, but hoping to stay engaged with the league while the craziness of summer begins.
  10. Q: Close series against the Bears but once again we have come out on the losing end; What do you think needs to change to help the team get past the Bears and go deeper into the play-offs? A: I think just the younger players need to develop a little more, and we should be much more competitive. Q: Seattle versus Calgary in the next round, who are you picking or does it even matter? A: I've kind of lost interest in it, but I'm rooting for an NA winner. Q: Prague Phantoms were eliminated in the first round after being a very strong regular season team; since we had the same happen to us last season. What would you say to the Prague players in condolence? A: You can't really control what happens in the sim. It doesn't take away from a good season - keep grinding. Q: I always find it weird when the NHL matches up with the VHL is some way; Do you find it weird or more interesting and are you still watching the NHL play-offs? A: It is weird, but also kinda cool. I'm loosely following, but not watching any of the games. I've been watching the Petes play as they are on TSN now with the Memorial Cup. Q: Off-season are tough and boring so what are you planning to try to break boredom? A: Just keep grinding TPE. It's hard to log on as much in the summer, but I know grinding all summer will lead to a fun winter with Analfist. Q: Riddle: Why is it so boring to eat at a restaurant on the moon? A: No fast food there
  11. The Wolves have put themselves in the worst position. We went 0-2 in the first sim of the WIldcard round. After being pretty solid all year against LA, we get Vendelayed. I still believe we can bounce back, but it will take a lot. We will need our top guys to start putting the puck in the net, and the rest of us need to dig down and protect our net. I think it's possible for us to come back, but we've definitely made it hard on ourselves. In the same breath, the Leafs season is over. After getting out of the first round, they fell 0-3 to Florida and put themselves in a really difficult situation. They won game four but fell in game five. There have been excuses made, and a lot of controversy in that game five - but at the end of the day I don't think we can realistically expect the Leafs to beat Florida 4 straight (especially in playoffs when the game is different). I'm still happy as a Leaf fan, and hope they bring back Dubas. My guess is they find a new coach and likely have to make a hard roster decision. Outside the league, things have gotten busier with the start of summer. Already been out golfing a couple times, and have had a few get togethers with friends I haven't seen over the winter. Summer also brings on busy work schedule, so trying to maintain that. I am reconsidering how much I really want to be involved with the league, as it just feels kinda like the same thing over and over again. I'll continue to update Analfist, and I enjoy following sims and being a part of the Vancouver LR.. But it's highly unlikely that i'll consider league jobs at any point in the near future.
  12. 1. It was pretyty close between Maple and Eagles. I think Maple takes the edge with the 5 GWG. He wasn't quite as physical, but he was better offesnively and was clutch when we needed him. 2. I think our core team was solid and really came together - however, I don't think it was a coincidence that it was after veteran Kyle Peace joined the team. He went for 26 points in the 40 GP with us, and had 5 GWG and an insane shot percentage. Can't stress how huge this trade was mid-season, I think this player is the unsung hero. 3. Analfist was better in his two way play - he was +17 while McFluery was -14. However McFluery was more productive and was not playing top line minutes. I would give this to Oreo. 4. Good question.. Probably just giuve it to a prospect on the roster.. I think a roster member can still be considered a prospect. 5. As stated in Q2, I think Peace will need to be replaced as he was an integral part of our comeback and run into the playoff picture. 6. Just to keep grinding TPE. That's all I can control.
  13. I’m gettin sick of winning this shit..
