  1. Stockholm, Sweden. It was almost set in stone that Saskatoon Wild goaltender Rhett DeGrath would be returning to play out his first year of VHL eligibility in the minors. The Saskatoon Management were prepared to accept him back, and actually completed a draft in mind that they already had a goalie in place. DeGrath was excited to attempt history going for a third straight Founder's Cup Championship, as he earned one as a walk-on halfway through S50. However, Saskatoon and DeGrath broke ties, as VHL Commissioners stepped in and forced a promotion to the big leagues. DeGrath dominated the VHLM last season, and nearly swept the competition earning himself the Top Goaltender Award at the end of the season. With a 1.41 GAA and 19 Shutouts, he seemed unbeatable at times. While his numbers looked good, he felt he still had some room for improvement, and figured he could use another year of development. While his GAA numbers were remarkable, many had stated that it was due to a very heavily stacked defensive unit that the Wild had in S51. DeGrath faced nearly 1500 shots less than the league leader in Ottawa. He was ready to test himself with a heavier workload in S52, and it looks like he will - just not in the VHLM. The VHL released a statement that according to their fair play and competitive arrangement that have with the VHLM, they have the right to refuse a player to go to the minors, without hitting waivers. Considering DeGrath was selected 2nd Overall by the Stockholm Vikings and signed a contract nearly a day after the GM stated he was their goalie for the future - he wasn't going through waivers untouched. So with the VHL refusing to let Rhett stay down, he has found himself with a new challenge. He's currently on a team who already has a starting goalie, and a 1st line defensive pairing... After that they have one forward. The Vikings are led by one of the most reputable GM's in league history with Chris Miller, so there is no doubt that steps will be taken to guard the young goaltending netminder from unforgiving embarrassment. The Vikings stand to benefit from a season of losses, but with this recent development, and the way the Eurpean Conference is weighted, it could be interesting to see if DeGrath can make a difference and bring an unlikely group into the VHL Playoffs.
  2. No just for the season.. It would actually make for a realistic approach to Veteran FA signings getting the A or C, as their attributes could bump from 80>95 rather than a rookie who is a captain because they are a "good member" who is getting bumped from a 60>75..
  3. $20 for S52 Confirmation number: 86T17377N31312417. Unassisted: Doubles Doubles Free 5 TPE Rhett DeGrath: Doubles Doubles Free 5 TPE
  4. Just a thought.. We should have Captains get boosted Leadership stats, not in TPE just the actual Attribute... ie: Captain: +15 Leadership Attributes Assistant Captain: +5 Leadership Attributes eh, just an idea to make it actually mean something in the sim.
  5. That's above average tbh

  12. Accept. I'd like to thank all the teams that reached out to me. This was a hard decision because there were a number of different options that were really enticing. I'd also like to set the record straight in that there was no tampering done by Banackock. A lot of messages, but none were before the FA Discussion opened.. I'd like to thank all the GM's and players who took the time to reach out and say some really nice things. I'm hoping this is my last FA experience for a long time, because it does suck when you have so many people you consider friends on the site - it's kinda like no matter what you will be letting some of them down when you choose a team. With that being said New York is the team that suits my needs, as well as offers a lot of exciting potential. They have a great group of members, and a great mix of players in age. There are at least three members on there that I've been dying to play with on more than just a rental basis, which is a big factor in this. On top of that I've always admired Devise as a GM, and have wanted to play for him since my first player in the league. He took over the line strategies in QC when he came over via trade, and literally turned my player into a middle of the pack scorer, to the league leader in goals and points. Not only is his strats on point, but I'll be reuniting with Lincoln whom in which I played with in that season. I was looking for a long term solution to my needs, and I wasn't looking to get on the best team for next season, or a team that would have the easiest path to the Finals. I'm choosing NYA because I believe in the direction they are in, and I think this is the best fit for me not only for this season, but for the remainder of my career. Again, thanks to all the guys who reached out. I definitely hope there are no hard feelings, cause I know there are some really good members on other teams that were hoping I'd sign with them.

  15. Calgary, Alberta. Last off-season the Calgary Wranglers were able to land not one, but four of the big fish free agents on the market. Tyson Kohler, Black Velvet, Aleksi Koponen, and Unassisted all jumped at the opportunity to play with one another, in search of a Continental Cup. While they dominated the regular season, they were rather lackluster in the playoffs, and many said the shoot-first mentality of the four, hindered their chemistry. While it was announced earlier today Kohler and Kopenen have signed on for another year, it seems as though that might be where the signings end. Austin Gow had made it clear that he wants to compete in S52 for a cup, but gave the locker room an understanding that it would be moving forward with the hopes of re-signing one of the four S51 Free Agents. They were able to land two, and arguably the two they really wanted. S52 will mark the second year in a row Unassisted hits the market. He has been the second line center to Aleksi Kopenen since his sophmore season with the Quebec City Meute. There have been rumours out saying that he's wanted an extended role, as on any other team he would be a top flight first line center. It seems as though Unassisted will hit the market with the sole purpose of finally becoming a first line center and premier scorer. Unassisted was the leading scorer and point earner in S50, but dropped off heavily in S51. He is looking to take on a leadership role and be the face of a franchise. "I'm not looking to be a depth forward, or a secondary scoring option. I'm looking to find a home, and lead a team to a championship. I'm not interested in being a rental player, I'm looking to find a good suitor with a GM I'm comfortable with, and with a franchise which looks to have a solid future who will build their team with the vision of me as their number one center."
