Since @Domg5 has now been stolen from me by those pesky VHLM Commissioners (damn you, me) he can't also continue to be my AGM. You guys generally know my MO with this, as it was how it worked with Dom, although Seabass before him didn't quite fit the mold - new guy, show him the ropes, give him press conference to do (bit of busy work, but also gets him some TPE for asking) and let him get the inner workings of how Prague runs so he can move on to bigger and better things if he so chooses when the time comes. So this shouldn't really be much of a surprise given the timing of the vacancy and the timing of the draft being yesterday: @benaky will be the guy for this. Welcome aboard

Yukon GM @Juice brought it to @VHLM Commissioner attention that things were beginning to get busier in his life, and between various real life responsibilities, it was better to have someone new who could give the team 100% attention rather than him trying to linger on with the team and perhaps having divided attention as a result. In the same conversation, it was brought to our attention that the same is true of @fromtheinside, and so the whole Yukon staff would be vacating. As a result, we've chosen from one of our final selections from the Ottawa job (which was coincidentally less than a week ago so all this is still fresh) and the Yukon GM job will be going to a guy that is currently an AGM for a team in the bigs (shockingly not @Esso2264). This is a guy who's been a quick climber over his time here, and has been in the last few picks for about 2-3 prior VHLM GM spots.

This had to be a quick process, with the draft coming up on such short notice. As a result, the hiring is someone I know from experience can handle the GMing world quite well. There were a lot of good apps out there for this one, and several of you have helped inform our process for when the larger batch of openings come up as a result of the E beginning next offseason, but for now, the guy we have chosen:

One important thing to remember, for those of you who have applied: once the E starts (next season I believe) there will be another batch of openings, if you don't get this one.

Yeeeeessss! 4th time's a charm. Tried to draft @BladeMaiden, that didn't work bc I was a pick away (so traded down and got Flyers instead, which has worked out well nonetheless). Tried to trade for the rights when she went to fa the first time, beaten out on that end by the Great Warsawing, which ended up backfiring on them anyway and she went to Helsinki (which honestly, I wasn't that surprised with, Blade's always had a good relationship with Jubo). Tried to trade for the rights the second time as well. Offered a bit low specifically because Jubo didn't want to Warsaw anyone (which is certainly respectable). Then I woke up the next day to discover she'd been traded, for more than I'd offered but less than I'd have been willing, but no further communication prior to the deal. Missed opportunity, but only by a season as it turns out. This time, even though it took trading with a guy who typically has particularly high values on his players in Bana (clearly it's worked for him, the track record speaks for itself) it was something I was pretty much dead set on. I don't even think he was intending to trade her when the negotiations started, but here we are. Bit expensive sure, but got it done.

Seattle and @Banackock: If we get to the finals with you (and it's a big if at this stage, a 2-2 series is in no way leaning toward one team or the other) - truce on all the "fun" please? It's just really not my thing to actively speak negatively of other people, even if I'm against them. I know it's part of hockey culture really, but I'm much more a fan of hockey itself than hockey culture.
