  8. Game 201 Saskatoon 6-7 San Diego (F/OT) (12-23-6) (28-11-2) Game 201 of the 93rd VHLM season was a nail biter, ending in a 6-7 loss for the Wild after extra time. Jean- Pierre Devote was an offensive threat this game, putting up 5 points (2-3–5) in this offensive minded game. Several other 4 point nights appeared from the offensive minded Marlins team in Game 201. In my opinion, this shows how unpredictable a game could be in the VHLM. Both Saskatoon and San Diego fans were definitely at the edge of their seats. Game 202 Miami 6-4 Ottawa (F) (23-12-6) (15-20-6) Another high scoring affair in the VHLM as Miami hold on to a constant lead over the Lynx to come out victorious in front of their fans. With Miami leading in the shots department 36-30, they had no stoppage when it came to offense that game. Three point nights from M. Highmore (2-1–3) and P. Ennis (0-3–3) made for a good Miami game. Congrats on the win Miami ! Game 203 Las Vegas 0-2 Halifax (F) (24-13-4) (15-23-3) Las Vegas takes a loss to Halifax, scoring no goals while Halifax pots in two on 16 shots. A quiet game for this league but fun all the less. Several on-point nights from Halifax in this defensive masterclass. Goalie K. Cavill (Halifax) gets the shutout for game 203! Congrats Halifax! Game 204 Houston 4-6 Philadelphia (F) (23-15-3) (31-7-3) A well-fought game by both teams with Philly edging out the win. Offense prevails again as T. Swift (PHI) and T. Artov (HOU) both achieve the hat trick in game 204. With shots being 35-42, neither goalie could catch a break tonight. Congrats two the two Hat Trick Heroes for scoring as they do and Philadelphia on a well deserved win! Game 205 Mississauga 3-4 Mexico City (F) (11-30-0) (23-15-3) Another close game with Mexico City taking the cake in regulation. Quality over quantity cam into play with Mississauga having more SOG than Mexico City. Nevertheless a nail biter. Congrats to Mexico City and to C. Hellebuyck on the first win of (hopefully) many more to come. This has been Fast Recap with HockeyFan4Life, Thank You
  9. Q: Good afternoon Connor, my name is John ,and we have some questions regarding your entrance into the VHL system and other questions that fans have for you. Are you ready to start? A: Yes I’m ready, lay some questions on me dude. Q: I heard that you haven’t played a game yet due to you joining so late in the season, how does someone cope in the hours before a big game like you are getting ready to do in the next couple weeks? A: Well John, I’m not too nervous at the moment but new things are scary. Flipping burgers on a grill for the first time at a new job can be nerving, skateboarding for the first time on a big half pipe can make anybody nervous, nervousness is just a feeling that you have to overcome, that’s how most people make it into the league. Tackling emotions. Q: I can get on board with that for sure. Next, you grew up in the metropolitan area of Richmond, in Mexico City I’m sure many things are different, how do you adapt to that. A: The heat of this town for sure was my first challenge by far John, but everything else just pieces together like a puzzle the fans here are incredible from the games I’ve watched from the hotel I’ve been in though and I fell so ready to give them and other fans around the world something to cheer for, just like the rest of the team. Q: Incredible answer Connor. Now onto the next topic, where do you see yourself after the VHL career is up. A: Coaching, being a GM, anything to do with hockey really, or a pianist for parties or special occasions. Q: Pianist. Really! Interesting, I guess that’s why you became a goalie. Good hands. A: Yes John- it sounds weird but it’s funny as well in my opinion. Q: That’s all the time we have today folks, thank you for joining Sitting Down with John Jones. Anything else Connor? A: No, except for let’s go Kings!
  10. 1. “Goal song choice- umm, maybe something that you’d find in a Tony Hawk game but us goalies rarely get goals soooo…” 2. “First hockey memory was probably when I was sitting on the couch watching a championship game with my grandma and I got to see the trophy lift. Since then that’s been my drive to lift a trophy of my own.” 3. “33, matching numbers feels good to me and a lot of goalies have worn it so it’s an honor to have it.” 4. ”The Goalie I have now, why change it up when it works?” 5. ”Book is the Mike Eruizone one about the Miracle on Ice and movie is probably Goon to be honest. I’d consider myself a hockey enthusiast.” 6. ”Solving a Rubix Cube, impressing people seems cool and what better way than cubing.”
