Answers:

1. I'm surprised my player is leading in game winning goals! I wasn't sure how this season would play out and it is surprising me in a good way so far!

2. I enjoyed my players time in the VHLE. That being said I've only had one player in the whole of the VHL so far, so I'm unsure if having the E gone is for the better. But with the league going back to regular numbers and the E not being able to sustain it's self, it makes sense why the decision was there to remove it.

3. This is a tough one! There are so many places I'd love to go see its hard to narrow it down to a single location. I'd love to see most of Europe and get some beach days in, in Hawaii.

1 - Yes and no. Sitting at 29 goals is pretty cool, but I was hoping for more like 70 points instead of hovering just below a point-per game.

2 - Easily the first hatty of Shev's VHL career.

3 - I'm trying not to be flippant and say "water", but I really do love my water bottle. Beyond that, maybe my bluelight filter glasses. They're incredible.

1. Second through fourth place in Europe looks like it's going to come down to the wire. With us playing both Riga and Davos two more times, I think if we can get at least one win against both of them, we'll take second place. The rest of our schedule is pretty easy, though there's always potential to drop one of those games.

2. I don't read much, so it's been a while, but I think the last book read in full was Diary by Chuck Palahniuk. I started reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro a few months back, but never got around to finishing it.

3. I'm partial to the music from Mega Man X. All the NES and SNES Mega Man soundtracks are great. Super Mario RPG also has some great tracks.

1. Slater enjoys using sticks made by KGW (VHL hockey stick brand made by the user @Triller). KGW has sleek designs and caters to players needs on the ice while adding a little personal touch to the look of the stick. 

2. Slater definitely does! A proud battle scar for sure especially if it was a crazy good game. 

3. I think unconsciously it does. But it helps that the team has a wolf which is bad ass and the black, white and grey colors of the team are classic. The wolves has an awesome logo.

1) I don't know what our current mascot is but I'm sure we could get some kind of cool raven/hawk thing that represents Nighthawks well

2) There's a couple of people I would tell because its a kind of life-changing event and I know 100% they would be able to keep it a secret, but honestly I wouldn't want it becoming super common knowledge because I think it would make a lot of people start treating you differently.

3) The Circle is the only one that really holds my interest watching so I'd go with that.

1) Bacon, Belgium waffles, breakfast sausage and some fresh maple syrup from the Quebec wilderness. 
2) I like the Fall but I enjoy aspects of all 4 seasons, so I enjoy where I live as I get to experience them all.

3) The last event I went to was when I was playing in men’s league hockey. I went to watch the finals even with my buddy even though our team wasn’t playing because we had another friend on 1 of the teams in the championship. As for the result, our friend’s team won so we were pretty happy for him.

Answers: 

1. Usually around the first week of December it goes up. We've got a toddler now so the bottom half of the tree will only have soft ornaments they can reach incase things get thrown. 

2. Our team hasn't played yet in the playoffs but we finished 2nd in the North American conference and we will eventually get to a playoff game once the wild card round is done.

3. Christmas is my favourite holiday to celebrate. I really enjoy gifting things to others, the holiday treats, lights and family time. Holiday Christmas markets like the one by the convention center in Vancouver is one of my favourite things to do. Now that we have kids I'm looking forward to making the holiday season a really fun time and the area we moved to has outdoor ice skating on the lake and horse sledding. Can't wait to share that with our kids.

1. For me, it’s stöllen. My dad’s side of the family are German and every year, I know it’s getting close to Christmas when my mom starts baking stöllen. It’s a bread and if there’s one thing I love, it’s bread.

Answers:

1. My player is retiring after this season but they are looking into possibly coaching a junior team once they retire or trying out a position as a sports broadcaster. 

2. I really enjoy a Filipino dish called Kadyos (it is a stew) made from Pidgeon peas, unripe jack fruit and pork. But I found out recently that most of my Filipino relatives are not actually a huge fan of it so I'm thinking it might be that. 

3. Top first gen award would be interesting to have. It would encourage new members to stick around!

1. Do you think there could be a way to fix the meta in the league and balance it with more different builds available?

Like with all sim leagues, there comes a point where people find a thing that "works" and everyone else runs with it. That isn't as bad as some people might think, but when people know what works, it makes people who don't know what works look a little worse in comparison. If someone wants to break the meta, though, there's a lot of ways to do it! Just build something unorthodox!

 

2. What do you think of the goalie situation in the VHLM this season?

I'm not sure about the goalie situation in the VHLM, but if you're talking about the amount of goalies, it's interesting to see a lot of people becoming goalies, I guess! 

 

3. If you could create a new team, in which city would it be and what name would you give it? Also which league? 

Ooh, I have team ideas already for the SBA, but I can go further and go international! Most of these are just silly thoughts I had to be fair, but they still count for something!
VHLM: Eastern; Ohio/Cleveland Aviators - Iirc, of course this could be wrong, the people who made the plane were based in or born in Ohio
VHL: Texas Honeybees - There's no explanation for this. I just liked the sound of it! 
VHL EU: England Thoroughbred - Horse. That's it, I just like horse! Also the thoroughbred probably originates from England or something like that!

1) Malmo! Only Malmo. lol but if I had to pick 3, just based on people I've enjoyed playing with in the past or think I would enjoy playing with, I'd say the other two would be Riga and Calgary. I could say Moscow but I'm not going to because I feel like I can't because of the Malmo ties. Riga was the team that drafted my first gen, so I don't mind talking nicely about a divisional rival as long as it's Riga

 

2) Meat lovers basically. Adding green olives is good too.

 

3) Pokemon games, Zelda games, NHL/Madden especially NHL04. Still play a lot of Pokemon and Zelda, but EA kinda sucks and I don't play the sports games very much now

1) Have you ever entered Free Agency in the VHL and if so, what was that experience like? If not, why not?

I think so once or twice. I think my current GM didn't extend me until off-season so I got a couple of offers but ended up re-signing with the same team. 
 

2) If you're already drafted in the VHL: if you were to recreate today, what VHLM team would you play for? If not drafted by a VHL team yet, what VHL team would you most like to be drafted by?

Maybe one of the Canadian teams I haven't played for before. Perhaps the Mississauga Hounds
 

3) What's a "weird" food combination that you think is actually good?
I like putting sriracha on random things like perogies because I'm weird and like a bit of spice.
