GM 26 Game Recap

After going 1-2-0 yesterday, Davos was looking for a glimmer of hope in there first game of the day against Moscow, Moscow also being the team that defeated them one time yesterday. The game ended with a Davos win, a surprise for sure, but a welcome one. Brian Schmigel having a great game recording 1 goal and 1 assist to aid the Dynamo in there dethroning of the menace.  Other than that it is a great first step for dynamo to get on track to having a good season with a mediocre team. A little glimmer of hope in this young season.

Game 18 Recap

From the early part of this game it was very close with Calgary taking a 2-1 lead into the second period with goals from Reinhart and Jokinen. In the second Perry would stretch the lead to 3-1 setting up a 2 goal lead going into the third. In the third period Riga would come out quickly scoring just 2 and a half minutes into the third period. Sadly for Riga, Calgary would answer right back with a goal of their own and end up winning the game 4-3. The player of the game in this one was defiantly Tom Eagles who set up 3 of the Calgary goals and ended the game with 3 assists.

Game Recap

Game 18:

Reign.png Riga Reign vs. Calgary Wranglers Calgary_Emoti.png

Two of the best teams in their respective conferences facing off here in game 18 which features the Riga Reign and the Calgary Wranglers. The teams feel eachother out fro 14 minutes before someone strikes first, that someone is Reylynn Reinhart who nets the first goal in this highly rated contest. The next goal just 2 minutes later from Jolly Greene of the Riga Reign evens us out at 1 a piece. The wranglers don't even wait until the next period starts to net nother one as on the powerplay Erlantz Jokinen puts one in to give the lead to the Wranglers going into the second period of play. It was a very slow 2nd period as only 3 minutes in Nathan Perry and the Wranglers score on the PP. Nothing else happens in the second period as the Wranglers go into the third with a 3 to 1 lead. The Reign strike back quick as on the powerplay Battre Sandstrom buries 1 to put them back into the game. The Wranglers look for insurance and find it as Frank Funk jr nets one to give the Wranglers a two goal lead with 15 minutes left in the final stanza. The Reign start to comeback with a goal coming from Anze Miklavz but the push is not strong enough as they fall in game 18. Due to his outstanding performance in this game Erlantz Jokinen who scored a goal and a assist earns the first star of the game which helped lead the Wranglers to the win. Even though he was on the losing side you can't turn down Battre Sandstrom who had a had a goal and two assists in the game to earn the second star. It was a hard fought battle between two of the best teams in the league and the Wranglers just came out on top in this one.

Game 16 Recap:

Toronto Legion had a dominant game from the ghetto. In fact the Legion won the game in the first period.

Toronto Legion defeated the D.C. Dragons 7 to 3 in Game 16 of the VHL. Toronto outshot the Dragons in every single period. While D.C. tried to get back into the game in the second period, the Legion did not give them a chance as they sealed the deal in the third.

4 goals in the first by Toronto was enough to say Good Night, especially when they came in quick succession; 2 quick goals at 4:14 and 5:50 and then another two quick ones to end the period at 18:16 and 19:59. What a backburner with 1 second left in the first period to be down 4 - 0 for the Dragons.

D.C. made it a game by scoring 2 in the second to make it 4 - 2, but Toronto's Kyle Peace @Peace came back with their own to close the second period 5 -2.

Kyle Peace had a heck of a game and won Toronto the game himself. 3 Goals, 2 Assists, 5 Points, +5, 10 shots, 4 Hits, and a block shot.  Definitely the player of the game!

Game 17 Recap:

A blast of the past from Malmo Nighthawks superstar goaltender King, Artem Tretiak @Molholt as Artem backstops Malmo to a 3 - 1 Victory over the Prague Phantoms in Game 17 of the VHL.

The Nighthawks strikes hard in the first period with 3 goals to take a surprising lead in the game against the Phantoms. Why was it a surprise? Because the Phantoms outshot the Nighthawks 18 to 7 in the first period, but were down 3 - 0.

In fact the game became a nonstop peppering of shots with no production for either teams until late in the third period by Darth Kaprizov @Darth Kaprizov who scored for the Phantoms to give Prague life, making the game 3 -1. Artem Tretiak stood on their head for the Win; stopping 50 of 51 shots faced! A 98% save%. Final shot count was 51 to 36 for the Phantoms over the Nighthawks. Malmo takes it 3-1.
