Pearce walks out on United

Since the original rumors of Cole Pearce requesting a trade from London have come out, the relationship between the London management and Pearce has further deteriorated. With a total of 58 games played this season Cole Pearce expected to play the maximum number of games of 64 before the 8 required backup games would be needed. Instead Pearce was told by management that the franchise’s top goaltender would not play anymore of the season. This news frustrated Pearce as he has played 64 games in both his previous season before with the team. The reason for the benching was told to Pearce by the general manager of the United as wanting to let Ed Nu, the team’s backup, get some more playing time. Pearce later commented on this saying that he believes that this is just some petty payback by the team’s GM because Pearce has decided that he will be walking to free agency this offseason rather than picking up his player option with the team. The future of Pearce’s career is uncertain as many teams are in no need of a starting goaltender currently with the current oversaturation of the goalie market, but Pearce feels he would rather take that risk than be with the London franchise any further.

GM's and their wicked ways.

But gotta look on the bright side, one of the benefits of playing in the weak EU division is that you have more energy for training camp and next season. Realistically speaking, I am not sure teams outside of Moscow have what it takes to finish even 5th in NA.

Rumors have it London and Goaltender Cole Pearce and London are close to an extension which will make Pearce a member of the United for the rest of his career.

When you play in the toughest division in the league, it's not common to receive messages like this because we are all so busy competing. In the EU, things are understandably different. Less competition, more time for phones n stuff. And you save a fortune in training camps when you do not have to have one in the EU.
