5-2

Birmingham took an early lead in this match, scoring two unanswered goals in the first period. Burns and III found the back of the net for the Brits. After the first tea, Godlander's power play marker was framed by two AC goals. It was a one goal game again going into the third. Then late in the last period during a power play, Minion picked up a dumped puck to Janser, Janser to Maellard. The defence man carries the puck in to the Angus' zone, relays the disc to Powers, Powers to Janser who onetimes it bar down. The fifth an final goal was scored by Kisslinger. The three stars were Janser (1g/1a), III (1g/2a) and Laperriere (1g/1a). Minion (.924) held the edge over Swayman (.902) in the duel between the pipes. Birmingham's power play was good (2/6) and the penalty killing spotless (3/3).

5-1

The second featured match just so happens to be against the rebels from across the pond again. Kisslinger scored the opener and only goal in the first period after 7:44. The second frame was dominated by the Bromies with 28-1 shots. During said period, Cheese intercepted a pass, moved into the danger zone, and passed the biscuit to Kisslinger. Kisslinger one taps it to Johnston, who cannot control the puck. Dan picks it up and fires away, the shot is blocked but the Swiss forward is nothing if not persistent, has a second try and catches Swayman in the five hole. Mere five minutes later, Johnston digs out a missed shot from Kisslinger, passes the disc to Powers. The back gives it back to Johnston who relays to Janser in the slot. The fervent Zug supporter takes the shot backhand and lures the keeper into the wrong corner. In the third period, Atlantic City spoils Minion's potential shutout and score on even strength. Unfortunately for the Jersey outfit, Buffy decided at that point in time to take to minor penalties within the span of two minutes, both of which were converted by the Brits. First, the Tiddlywinks displayed a text book power play, with pass over pass over pass, until the shot lane was open for Janser who blasted big slapper from the mid-distance, screened by his team mates. Swayman's view was blocked and the shot was just about 8 inches above the ice, high enough to get above the shinpads, but low enough for the glove to be too slow. Hattrick for the Swiss hockey export. Cheese with his power play goal sealed the fate for the Casino enthusiasts. The three stars in this match were Janser (3g/0a), Kisslinger (1g/2a) and Powers (0g/3a). Minion (.944) again won the goalkeeper competition against Swayman (.917). Power play (2/6) and box play (4/4) remained consistent with the other featured match.

Daniel's stats so far:

8gp, 6g, 5a, 11pts, +4, 4 PIM, 8 hits, 2sb, 1gwg, 2ppg, 63.31FO% and two first stars.
