Three games have been played since our last article. Calgary is still leading the league, albeit by the skin of their teeth due to some unexpected (and some would say: undeserved losses). Without further ado, lets dive into our summaries.

2-5

This match against the Predators was much tighter than the final score would suggest. Warsaw was on the board first and scored the only goal in the starting period. They scored an other goal, this time on a powerplay to make the game 2-0. Vladovechsenkchushkin cut Warsaw's lead in half. But Lamb single handedly defeated Calgary by scoring the second, third and fourth personal goal in this game (he was accountable for the opening marker already). The last of which was, to add insult to injury, on a Wranglers powerplay. Calgary got the consolation price of at least winning the last period with Daniel's marker on a powerplay. Warsaw dumps the puck to change lines. Dan picks up the free disc and passes it to AirRig. The defender skates unopposed into the neutral as well as the offensive zone, where he gets knocked off the puck by Buff(y). However, Captain Helvetic for the rescue. Janser loses no time to take aim and just one times the biscuit, past friend and foe, into the net. Lamb (4g/0a), Kisslinger (0g/2a) and Wumbo (44 saves) were named three stars of the night. Dahl (.889) had one his weaker nights against a stellar Wumbo (.957). However, considering that Calgary was only able to score one goal on even strength and even allowed a goal against while acting with a man advantage, it would be unfair to pin the loss solely to Dahl. The Wranglers' powerplay was lackluster with only one goal out of six attempts and being scored against as well. The boxplay was decent (5/6).

Marcel left the ice with a 0g, 0a, +0, 1 hit and 3sb record.

Daniel had 1g, 0a, -1, 2 PIM (Holding Stick, lead to a goal against), 4 hits, 1sb and 68.52FO%.

4-5 (SO)

In a game, where Calgary outshot Warsaw 68-45, the Wranglers skated away with two points in a 5-4 shootout win. Portuguese Wonderkind Gonçalves scored late in the first frame, sending his team with a lead to the locker room. Vladovechsenkchushkin increased the lead by one early in the second period, before the Predators scored the second short handed goal in as many contests. Wolanin reinstated the two goal lead with his marker. But the Polish site was able to pull one back again, leaving the game close for the final twenty minutes. Warsaw came out of the locker room on fire and scored two goals in short succession one of them on the man advantage. Suddenly they were leading for the first time in this match. Vladovechsenkchushkin with his second of the night sent his colours into OT. The sudden death did not bring a decision and so the star players were asked to fetch the embers out of the ashes. Daniel was the only one who converted his penalty shot and snatched the extra point for the Wranglers. The post match awards went to Gonçalves (1g/2a), Ablair (0g/3a) and Vladovechsenkchushkin (2g/0a). Despite Wumbo standing on their head (.941) and beating Dahl (.911) in the save rate department, to give their team a fighting chance, they won the battle for better goal keeper but lost the war for the W.  Calgary's power play was worse than inexistant as they not only did not score on five opportunities, they also allowed to be scored against, combined with a mediocre performance on the penalty kill (3/4), the special team made this match more exciting than it needed to be.

Marcel had 0g, 1a, +2, 4 PIM (Slashing and Hooking, no goal scored against), 1 hit and 1sb to his name.

Daniel was noted with 0g, 1a, -1, 2 PIM (High Sticking, did not lead to a goal against), 2 hits and 45.00% win rate at the dot.

3-2 (SO)

Calgary seems to develop a bad habit to outshoot their opponents (this time 42-26), only to take the adversaries into over time or even shoot out. On the bright side, this warrants that the Wranglers fans get their money's worth out of the season tickets with the amount of additional hockey played. This time the risk did not pay out for the Albertan site and they lost 3-2 to the Dragons. It took DC all of 36 seconds to go in front. Daniel tied the game mid-way through the period. The Captain wins the face-off against Vidot after a Dahl save. He passes the disc to Wolanin, who starts the afterburner and enters the neutral zone. Dan caught up and is at the blue line when he receives Landon's pass. He skates to the hash mark and sends the goblin to AirRig on the blue line. GoodBrandSun to Wolanin and the winger finds Dan on the far post where the Swiss forward only has to tap the puck in. Alas, the Dragons reinstated the one goal lead prior to the intermission. No goals were scored in the second period. In the third frame Wolanin scored the only goal (his fortieth of the season). No further goals were scored, neither in regulation nor in overtime. In the shootout Ori and Vidot succeeded for the Dragons, and only Dan could beat Utonium. Janser (1g/1a), Ori (1g/0a) and Utonium (40 saves) were awarded the three stars of the game. Dahl (.923), despite having a decent game, was outshone by radiating Utonium (.952). Calgary's power play was not able to convert the one chance they got, while the penalty kill shut the door on all of the five opposing opportunities.

Marcel had 0g, 0a, -1, 2 PIM (Elbowing, no change on the score board), 1 hit and 4sb to his name.

Daniel left the ice with 1g, 1a, +1, 1 hit, 1sb and 67.39FO%.

The brothers' stats for this season so far are as follows:

Marcel: 61gp, 3g, 41a, 44pts, +14, 84 PIM, 100 hits, 107 sb, 2ppg
