Yeah it's a tough one but we really had no business winning with that horrible display. Ireland played well but we didn't even hit the net when we had glorious chances. What a goal though, went far stick over the leg.

Southampton attacker Sadio Mane has completed a medical at Liverpool after the clubs agreed a fee.

Mane was pictured leaving hospital after undergoing routine tests, and will now agree personal terms.

The fee is thought to be £34m potentially rising to £36m, which is higher than that quoted last week. Southampton will be chuffed with the fee, but disappointed with the exit. They paid £10m for Mane when signing him from Red Bull Salzburg two years ago.

Mane scored 15 goals for Southampton last season, 11 of which were in the Premier League.

Mane will become the latest player to move from Southampton to Liverpool, following Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert and Nathaniel Clyne.

Thoughts? Is there anyone else we should look at(realistically) adding? What about a CB?

I think it's a decent signing for you. I'm not really sure why there were a lot of Man Utd fans who didn't like that we were interested in him back in January, but I've liked what I've seen out of him. Interesting that Southampton are selling players while they don't currently have a manager, cause I'm pretty sure Koeman told United Mane wasn't for sale. Think £34M is a bit too high, but it'll be interesting to see with Brexit whether domestic transfers will have their valuation rise even more, since it'll be more difficult to bring in players from abroad.

Defender Ragnar Klavan’s medical at Liverpool is under way ahead of his £4.2million move from Augsburg.

The vastly-experienced Estonia international has been brought in as cover at centre-back as Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez both currently have injuries and Tiago Ilori, who could have been a fall-back option, is heading to the Olympics with Portugal.

Klavan has over 100 caps for his country and has had four seasons in the Bundesliga and manager Jurgen Klopp sees him as the ideal man to offer back-up and leadership in much the same way as Kolo Toure did before his departure this summer.

Press Association Sport understands a deal for Klavan is likely to be concluded on Wednesday.

Klopp’s new first-choice centre-back for the coming season Joel Matip escaped serious injury to his ankle in Sunday’s friendly win at Wigan.

The Cameroon international, a free transfer signing from Schalke, sustained bruising to the joint and while he is unlikely to play in Wednesday’s friendly at Huddersfield he will be on the flight to the United States the following morning as the club’s tour of America begins.

Matip is going to be beastly.

Ings has scored in both his last 2 games... that's great to see, since no doubt Sturridge will be injured for 90% of the season. I wonder if there a Origi/Ings/Coutihno diamond strat to try
