In this article we'll examine the top 3 trade targets for contending teams.. #1 Aksel Thomassen (S39 3 Seasons Remaining) Why he'll be traded... Quebec's window for competing is beginning to fade and with Thomassen having 3 seasons left now may be the best time to trade the center to maximize Quebec's return and speed up the rebuild. Why he won't be traded... Quebec's season ended abruptly to a bear wearing make up standing in high heels so management believe's there is still life in this core and that with some additions they could make one last run. Prediction - Stays in Quebec. #2 Jake Wylde (S38 2 Seasons Remaining) Why he'll be traded... High profile defense are a hot commodity in the VHL atm. Jake Wylde will only lose value going into his final season as if he does get traded he'll be only a rental. So the time may be now to maximize the return. Why he won't be traded... Having only spent 1 season in Quebec this may be another story of moving a player too soon as they did with Matt Bentley. They might want to hang onto Wylde and make another push. Prediction - Stays in Quebec. #3 Jerrick Poole (S40 4 Seasons Remaining) Why he'll be traded... As with Wylde, Poole is a stud defenseman and therefore should command a lot of interest on the open market. Why he won't be traded... If the market isn't great Toronto may hold onto their most valuable asset for the trade deadline or next off season. Prediction - Traded at the S44 Deadline.
