Ahma 1,387 Posted September 10, 2015 Share Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) Why HC Davos Dynamo will win the Continental Cup? And everything else. We’re too good. But why? This is why: First, we have many good players. We have an amazing first line, which will do most of the scoring. Devin Sundberg, 1st line center and Freedom McJustice (left winger, plays right wing) are both capable of scoring and passing the puck. Of course our best forward, James Faraday, can outscore both of them too, but he is more of a playmaker type. He also takes care of the physicality with hitting everything that moves. They all also defensively very good. It feels like the whole 1st line has found some chemistry and will only play better. But, after the 1st line, the level of forwards drop down. We have Oskars Harumpf as a 2nd line center and he is a helluva player. Crazy good passing and vision. But there are the two rookie wingers, Simon Valmount and Maxime Perron. Both S44 draft class players. They aren’t developed as much as the two veterans on the first line. But, I can say for sure that Valmount will get A LOT better and improve into a crazy player! So, they both have potential to be great players. The second line will improve. Harumpf plays great two-way play, Perron is a scoring threat and Valmount is the physical guy who can do it all (score, hit, etc.) In the end we have somewhat good depth on forwards. Both 1st and 2nd lines can score and play good defense. :dav: :dav: :dav: :dav: :dav: :dav: :dav: :dav: :dav: In the back end we have the best defenseman in the league, Mason Richardson! He does it all, and does it better than any defenseman. The only one who will play on Richardson’s level is Jake Wylde who is also amazing defenseman. But the problem with defense is that we have only two defensemen. Playing with Richardson we have a great shutdown defenseman who hits, blocks shots and plays responsible defense, Vladamir Komarov. He can also produce some offense, but mostly a defensive defenseman. Biggest problem is our defense at the moment. We have only two defensemen, but Coach told that he will acquire a defenseman at some point. And so that problem will be solved too. And our goalie is one the best in the VHL, Callum Sinclair. Still young goalie who will get better. And still plays in a high level as a goalie. We are a team with good mix of experience and younger players. I say that Davos will beat any team in playoffs. Helsinki is too young. Riga has Thomassen carrying the team, and he can’t win it alone. Stockholm might be a problematic team to play against. Cologne is definitely a team we can win, they lost Köenig, Klose and O’Malley. But Davos will be in the finals against Quebec or Calgary. When the playoffs come, nothing will stop us. It would feel good to score the golden goal in Game 7 overtime against Riga in conference finals… just saying." Valmount said.
