Hamilton Excited for Draft

Former Bern Royals defenceman Jeff Hamilton is ready for the Season 46 VHL Entry Draft. After a very successful first and only VHLM season, the young Brit is set to take the ice for a major league team in Season 46 after a strong few weeks of practice this off-season. After depositing 126 points and ending up fourth in league scoring, Hamilton proved that he has more offensive flair than his younger Brother Phil Hamilton who went first overall in the Season 45 Entry Draft. Whether or not that VHLM success translates into big league success remains to be seen at this time, but Hamilton certainly has potential.

Hamilton speaks to reporters ahead of the S46 Entry Draft.

"I think I can be an impact player in this league. I showed that I could make an impact as a raw rookie in the VHLM having not even been drafted to start the season, I think I did pretty well. Of course it helped to have played with so many great players who will be sharing the draft floor with me later this week. I'm looking forward to seeing how their careers pan out and maybe even playing alongside some of them in the coming years as we look to help a franchise move forward," Hamilton said.

One player in particular who Hamilton enjoyed playing with was Zach Parechkin who is represented by the Dollar and a Dream player agency. Parechkin led the Royals and the league in scoring and is considered by many to be the consensus first overall selection in the draft this season. If indeed he is drafted by the Toronto Legion first overall, it is unlikely that Hamilton will join him, but no one is quite sure how the draft will shape up at this point.

"Zach's a great teammate and I wish him a lot of success. I'd love to join him wherever he lands, but I think he'll go first overall and I don't know where I'll go. I'd love to play with Sean Blacker too, he's a good guy and I'm happy to see his player agent back signing guys to the VHL. He'll be a good player in this league. I've seen a few mock drafts that have me going fourth or even fifth. We shall see. I've only heard from two teams and those are the two teams with the first four picks," Hamilton said.

The S46 Entry Draft has a lot of potential talent.

It appears Toronto and Seattle have interest in the middle Hamilton brother, but it would be highly surprising to see anyone other than the future star Parechkin go first overall. He is a head above the other prospects in the draft. The Labatte Player Agency of course has a sterling reputation of producing top notch VHL players and despite less activity than in previous years from the agency, Labatte is said to be determined to make yet another player a Hall of Famer.

"He'll be a good player. I think a lot of General Managers would be silly to pass on this kid, but I can't speak for them or their decisions. He'll play well and he'll do it wherever he lands. I have a lot of faith in this kid and I wouldn't be surprised to see his practice hours increase now that he is drafted. He's not the kind of kid that wants to play second fiddle," Labatte said of Hamilton.

Whatever the S46 Entry Draft beholds will be exciting. Hamilton is somewhat of a wildcard at this point as other prospects have gotten more hype this season. Labatte insists though that sometimes being the underdog is the best place to be. "Just like in Season 2, sometimes it is the diamond in the rough that becomes the most memorable player while the more noisy guys fade into obscurity," he said.

Thanks for the high marks, sterling. :)

I hope we can some way end up on the same team, but it's hard to imagine that.

That would be ideal. I could always tell Mike to go to hell. He did fuck me over once.

Content: 3/3 - ~650 words. Easily hit the word mark. You had a great career in the VHLM, and I'm sure it will carry over into the VHL with the Seattle Bears. I hope to one day be reunited and play with you in the VHL.

Grammar: 2/2 - No mistakes to be seen.

Appearance: 1/1 - Lookin' good.

Overall: 6/6
