What's to Become of the Express?

Recommended Posts

When Hamilton came to Cologne in S48, they were ready for a run of dominance, and one could say they had that. Each of the past three seasons they've topped Europe and gotten to two Cup Finals (just losing out to Toronto both times, and being thwarted by Davos this past season for a three-time CC match-up.)

This off-season was set to be extremely exciting for the Trains. There were huge names that were slung out into the FA market and Cologne had their eyes set on almost all of them. Team Captain, Phil Hamilton, sent out PM's to all of their targets, hoping to break his GM's streak of not being able to attract FAs to his team.

However, as the new season approaches all of their targets, @Draper, @sterling, @STZ, @TheLastOlympian07 have gone and signed elsewhere. No one made it clear to Phil as to why they didn't come to Cologne. Even long-time Cologne player @Kendrick jumped ship to North America.

If I knew the reasons people didn't want to come to me team, perhaps I could be more helpful to greg with getting FAs. Even just one of those signings would mean that Cologne's strength would be alive and well and they'd be set to dominate Europe once again. But now it looks like the team is in ruins.

There is, coincidentally, one more FA that can have the single-handed biggest effect on Cologne's Cup efforts this season, and this is the goalie phenom, and Hamilton's former teammate, Clegane (@Victor). With Hans Wingate (@CowboyinAmerica) forced to retire, it means that G. Clegane is the best goalie in the league, and even with Kohler leaving, Clegane would automatically bring us into the mix as Contenders.

So I suppose this is a desperation plea for Victor. Please come to Cologne. I'll be your real friend for real. I'll move to England, work in London, live in Gerrards Cross, and by you pints on the weekends. We've already won 2 Cups together, now let's get us our third!!

Of course, if Clegane does not sign in Cologne, Cologne are what we would call "fucked". Hopefully it does not come to said terminology.

How long as Cologne been contenders for now without a cup? Poor Clegane.

:sea:

Well the last cup isn't even ten years old, so not too long.
