Cersei loved Robert at first she said something like every woman in the kingdom wanted to be with him and he was mine. However he wanted to be with Ned's sister and after the war when she died he just kept drinking and turning into fattie. On their wedding night he said lyanna's name.

No, Cersei is definitely a complete fucktard. Whether you want to call her evil or a cunt, that is what she is. She had Lady killed out of spite, Robert just went with it because he didn't want to deal with the headache of his bitch wife later. Speaking of Robert, she had him killed too. Also she seemed to get a kick out of the Red Wedding, and considering how taboo that shit is that puts her in the minority. Extra book minor "spoilers": She once threw her best friend into a well when she was a child, which was basically cold blood murder. Also her method of disciplining Tommen is to have him whip Pate. And, not really spoilers, but now that Tywin is gone in S5 she takes it upon herself to try to be "Tywin with teats." We'll see how that goes.

Whipping boys were standard practice for the time.

Also, saying Littlefinfer killed Lysa just because is being short sighted. The Vale is a key stronghold in Westeros and holding Robert Arryn in his hands is already a good position to be in.

  • 4 weeks later...

A little overdue, but this is my favourite reaction to S4E8 that I've seen yet.  It belongs to my brother.  I don't know why I took so long to show it.  Sorry for filming it like a potato, I was trying to be discreet and wasn't really thinking.

Lol Jardy that is really your brother I bet you could get that footage onto all the late night shows and stuff if you sent it in around the time next season gets put on TV.  They interview cast members and george martin and show reaction videos and stuff on like Conan/Jimmy Fallon.

Yeah I thought of that same thing actually, haha.  It's unlisted on Youtube right now, I might consider attempting to make it go viral.  I don't know how he'd feel if I showed the entire world though.  This video makes me laugh every time because it's so out of character for him to get so emotional about things.  He rarely gets upset like this about anything ever, never mind a TV show, haha.

Also, for the record, this was basically my identical reaction when I read the Red Wedding chapter a year earlier.  Almost verbatim.  "NO!  I hate this book!  What the fuck!?  Ohh my Goood, nooooooo...."  "Jordan, what's wrong?"  "I...I don't like this book.  Why did he do this?  I really don't like this book at all..." "What happened?" "I...I can't....I just...I hate this..." *run upstairs to room, pout for two hours, vent on VHL*

All I remember from reacting to that moment was my jaw dropping and thinking, "I'm going to puke"

Pet Peeve: When people who either watch the show or read the books call Daenerys "Khaleesi" with no other descriptors. Khaleesi is a title, not a name.

For example, imagine holding this conversation about your friends:

"So I got a call from Postal Worker the other day, he asked if I wanted to go to a party he was having. I told him I'd get hold of Blackjack Dealer and Hotel Clerk and get back to him. Really, I'm not sure I want to go, especially if he brings History Teacher there. History Teacher is a drag at parties."

Would you do this? I'd expect you would call them by their names, not their positions. Now it's different for people who are actually in the GOT world, they're calling her Khaleesi in much the same way as we might call Obama "Mr.President" or the Queen of England "Your Majesty" as it's an honorific to her. The difference is, they're talking TO her, not ABOUT her. When they are talking about her, they call her Daenerys, like any normal person would.

For these reasons, half of me cringes when people name their baby "Khaleesi." I mean, I guess it sort of makes sense, but I feel like most the people who do the naming don't actually realize that.

I think my least favourite argument FOR it that I've seen is "Oh we name babies princess, reigna/regina, jesus, duke, etc... but we can't name a baby Khaleesi?" Like well you could, but I still think all those other names are just as stupid as Khaleesi. People seem to think the stigma comes from it being a fictional character, when it's really just dumb to name a kid after a title (imo).

I don't mind those names, and maybe Khalessi wouldn't be so bad if parents were like, "Yeah, I named my daughter Khaleesi, which is Dothraki for 'Queen.' My other daughter Khalakki means princess." But no, they're like "Yeah, Khaleesi, like that badass blonde bitch from that Game of Thrones show, lol."

If we want to get super nit-picky, it isn't even Dothraki for "Queen", it's their own title for their leader :P It's the equivalent to queen! Yes, I'm a huge nerd.
