Oh man, you didn't actually think that was suspsension worthy, did you?

Also, Q is fired! @Fire Hakstol any thoughts on this?

Oh, man. I sure did!

The hit itself, no. Whatever that shit was afterwards, yes. 2 games was enough, 1 game would have been fine. 0 games I wouldn't have been surprised.

Fire Hakstol, hire Q.

Not going to happen though.

Honestly hockey is just such a weird spot that it's odd that Q, a fantastic coach, should of been fired by Chicago. It's considered a good move because the style of that team didn't really gel with his approach to the game, his ideal players etc. It led to stunted growth to the identity of where they were headed. Yet oddly enough, I'm sure everyone would agree that Philly hiring Q would be great. Coaches honestly almost just change as team identities do throughout the ebbs and flows in the NHL sometimes. But most of the elite coaches are always playing somewhere. It's super weird.

Also I wouldn't say it's impossible that Philly actually is bold enough to make that play. It'd be huge for you guys imo.

Dave Hakstol is the 5th longest tenured coach in the NHL and doesn't even have a playoff series win to show for it.

Fire Hakstol.

Hextall*

Dubas definitely told Willy that they can get as close to $7M as possible, but his cap hit was starting with a 6 lol

Finally done though! Hopefully they at least wait until the end of the season before getting on the Matthews/Marner train lol ?

@DollarAndADream take care of Leivo! He's a beaut, and you guys will love him (saw he scored last night too)

Yeah, I have faith in him. :)

I've watched some Leafs games in the past year, and Leivo always seems like he works super hard and has a great shot. He's already clicking with the team, and better than a lot of players on the current Canucks roster.

Yeah, he just fell victim to the numbers. His skating has improved a ton, even in the last 6 months. But we’re about to have Brown on the 4th line RW, and Ennis has been real good too. With an opportunity to play with EP or Horvat, he can definitely hit 15-20 this year.

i think ep is the guy who is a rookie? i think most could get 15-20 with him, he is pretty exciting from the highlights ive seen

Yeah, Petterson is nasty. Still, Leivo's got a great shot, so putting him with either should work well for Van.

I feel like Toronto media always over hypes mediocre players. Leivo is way better than Corado but it's a similar situation. He really only had a couple good games this year and two years ago. If he was really that good he would have shown it during practice and forced himself into the lineup

Ehh I don’t think anyone is claiming he’s a star. He’s basically a Lee Stempniak type that will probably be a journeyman, 3rd/4th line, PP specialist type who can fill in for short bursts on higher lines, giving 15-20 goals. In Toronto, there’s no room for him. In Vancouver he’s getting a chance to prove he might be more. It is what it is, but I wish him well.
