I like it and rate it a 10 because it gives good exposure to our amazing rookies. Normally rooks don't get much fanfare around the league. 2. I expect them to #1 not be a liability out there and then contribute in some positive way to the team. Lucky our rookies this season have both been fantastic! 3. Nobody. We should prob add a depth defenseman so we can upgrade over the bot and then go for the cup 4. Hmm that's a tough one, don't know enough players so I will say whatever defenseman compliments Guntis perfectly to be my partner for the playoffs 5. I think we might make a small move for dman but we shouldn't do anything else 6. Oh man so sad and tragic. I remember watching Johnny in the world juniors and thinking this kid in unbelievable and then followed his career ever since. I also drafted him as a prospect in a couple dynasty leagues and he won me championships. Such a great player and also great person, incredibly sad the loss of the Gaudreau brothers Gaikoku-hito and Thunder 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/54500-vancouver-wolves-press-conference/page/55/#findComment-1037412 Share on other sites

Hard to come up with stuff. 2) it’s tough…and a lot to work through and learn. I’d say just ask questions and lean on the locker room. 3) Sharky! Haha nah, nobody, like our squad…just need to get the scoring rolling. 4) Probably Randy Bobandy…he’s tearing it up with 84 points this year…total stud. 5) I trust Frank and I’m hoping Rip stays off the block! 6) Only remember watching Johnny Hockey play. Just had silky mits and out together a ton of highlight reel goals. Horrible tragedy for that family. Frank 5,209
1. Rookies as Theme week on a scale of 1-10 what do you rate it and why? I like it. It's open ended enough to be up for interpretation and covers some of the most promising members in the VHL going forward. 2. What are your expectations for Rookies when they join the VHL? Explain I expect that they earn as much as they can so they can steadily improve since the lack of production early on may be off putting to some but if they keep at it eventually the numbers will go up. 3. Who on the Vancouver Wolves should be trade by the end of the week or the trade deadline and why? Soju, but ultimately it will be someone nobody expected as we've under achieved so far this season. But I do believe will still have a very strong team and just need a tweak to the chemistry. 4. If you could trade for one player in the league who and why? I would trade for @VattghernCZ but I'm not sure the league will allow trades between the VHL and VHLM. But if they did I'd be all over that. 5. Do you think the Vancouver Wolves will make any moves at this season trade deadline? Yes, spoiler alert. There will be a trade or two. But what will the trades be? 6. Sad News hearing about what happened to the Gaudreau brothers so what do you remember the most about either one of them? Only really know of Johnny. I think his most memorable moment was when Calgary had that dominant season offensively with him, Tkachuk and Lindholm as a line. Too bad that group didn't stick together might have been able to do even more. Only Tkachuk really flourished away from the other two. RIP gone way too young. Thunder 1,166
1. Have the Vancouver Wolve met your expectations this season to date? Why or why not? The wolves are stacked with talent. Maybe I was dreaming too much but I expected us to be so damn good, no one could touch us. 2. Has your own player met your expectations? Why or why not? My player is a pussy. He cant even get into a fight let alone lose. He doesnt hit and he doesnt block enough shots. He’s shit. 3. After today incident were Malmo player Rave tried to injury Slater; have you or your player ever lose control during a sporting event? Explain? Jake Thunder got called for some weird shit, but I cant remember. Only time I lost my shit playing was in college on play at the plate. The runner ran into me, which was fine but he punched me in the stomach too. Even with the chest protector, it caught me good!! I didnt drop the ball tho!! And we won the game. 4. Toronto & Calgary continue to prove that the VHL has a goaltending issue!! Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Explain… I dont know. I havent paid attention to them. 5. Is there any team that you would like to play in the first round or wild card round of the playoffs? Why? I’d like to play Seattle so we can crush them and put them out of their misery. 6. If you had to name the Vancouver Wolves regular season MVP, who and why? Logan Ninefingers. Hes a stud and is dominating in all parts of the game. I thought we would be contending for the top spot in the conference, so right now I would say below expectations. 2. Drafted high, high TPE and just shit. So we’ll below expectations. 3. Martin should lose control on the ice, beats his current skate around for 25 minutes a game doing nothing. 4. A Riga GM back in the earlier VHL days had the thought that a team with a 500 TPE was better than a team with a 1000 TPE goalie, so looks like he was right. 5. I would rather skip the wild card round please. 6. Slater. Switched positions and still leads the way offensively. She’s a keeper. Frank 5,209
1. What are your expectations for the Wildcard round between Seattle Bears & Calgary Wranglers? How many games and who wins? Seattle should win and deserves to win. Time for these teams with sub 500 tpe goalies to drop like flys. And that's the last and only nice thing I say about Seattle. 2. Will you follow the European Conference Wildcard games? Why or why not? Yes last seasons cup winner came out of the EU wildcard. I was surprised Davos finished Warsaw off in 4 games. 3. What are your expectations for the series between HC Davos & Warsaw? How many games and who wins? I thought Warsaw would win in 5 and Simon would make Dilson a sim darling early on but nope Davos won in 4 and Warsaw's regular season carried over to the playoffs. 4. With a first week bye into the second round; what are you going to do with the few extra days off? Either way, Vancouver is picking up the clubs and heading for the greens once again… Are we ever going to win again? What do you think about Vancouver being bounced from the playoffs by Chicago? 2. Finals are set and are you surprised by who made the finals? 3. Do you think changes are coming to the Vancouver roster this off season? Explain…. 4. Do you golf during the off season or what other active do you take part in during the off season? 5. NHL season is starting soon so what are you most excited about for this coming NHL season? 6. Riddle: I am always in front of you, but you can’t see me. End the game on a huge winning streak to move into 2nd, to get bounced immediately. 2. I'm not surprised. Toronto has been the class of the NA for a few years. Riga started showing their worth last year. 3. I believe we will see changes, depending on the cap available and players available in trade, as no one is coming in draft wise to help the roster. 4. I will be staying in Van City working on my defense and passing. 5. I'm excited to be hurt again once the first round of the playoffs starts. 6. My gut. It was definitely unfortunate, especially since we lost in 7, but will only build character and make us even more determined to win next season. 2. Surprised it wasn't us! But no Toronto and Riga are both top teams so was not surprised to see them in the finals. 3. I think we could see a couple changes but probably nothing too crazy, we have a good core, maybe some minor additions. 4. Guntis Gavilrovs competes in lumberjack games in the off-season, he can chop a tree down in under 10 seconds. Coincidently the same amount of time that RIP Wheeler lasted with mama june. 5. Very excited about a lot of things, but one of them is to see how the high-end rookies do, Michkov, Celebrini, Smith, Stankoven, etc. 6. The future! but also what Thunder said. Gaikoku-hito 2,081
Windy Change ….. Windy has been blowing around the Vancouver Locker room create a buzz, whirl wind and it felt at times like a huge mess with players flying everywhere, picks bouncing from team to team and when it was all done; While I think it is all done; right? Vancouver Wolves have a new roster with players even changing position to say the least it has been a crazy 48hrs or so but yes Vancouver should for the most part be done and now ready for the season so lets get into the questions….. 1. Biggest departure from all the trades? Who are we going to miss the most? (Mark Calaway, Guntis Gavilrovs, Dalkr Vidarsson, Owen Lazaro or Pierre Marc Bouchard) Explain why? 2. Vancouver also add a few players so which is the key addition to the roster that will make a huge impact this season? (Matteo Stefano, Rip Wheeler, King Kisslinger or Guntis Gavilrovs) Explain!! 3. Award have been present and one of the hardest ones I had was picking last year’s MVP Who would you have picked for our MVP or do you agree with my selection? 4. If you had to change any of the award or add award to the Vancouver Wolves presentation which awards, would you change or add and why? 5. So we traded our MVP tender to Toronto; do you know have these games circled on the calendar or is it just another game against Toronto? Explain…. 6. Riddle: Made for victory, not for sipping tea; if you win me once, in history you will be. Thunder 1,166
1. Biggest departure from all the trades? Who are we going to miss the most? (Mark Calaway, Guntis Gavilrovs, Dalkr Vidarsson, Owen Lazaro or Pierre Marc Bouchard)Explain why? Mark Calaway cannot be replaced. Experience and skill along with VHL maturity. Dont know what I’m gonna do. It’s bad enough that I’m going through withdrawals losing Owen Lazaro, and I went on a hunger strike when I thought Guntis was traded. I was in a state of shock when Dalkr packed his bags, and the thought of losing my buddy PMB is just gonna throw me off a cliff. My head still hurts. 2. Vancouver also add a few players so which is the key addition to the roster that will make a huge impact this season? (Matteo Stefano, Rip Wheeler, King Kisslinger or Guntis Gavilrovs) Explain!! Is this a test?? I know so little about Matteo Stefano and King Kisslinger, but I’m looking forward to their presence and impact. As far as Guntis goes, he’s got a heavy burden of keeping me in line. And Rip Wheeler….. well you know what I think of Rip. He’s got “No Ragrets” 3. Award have been present and one of the hardest ones I had was picking last year’s MVP Who would you have picked for our MVP or do you agree with my selection? I already forgot who you picked as mvp, but I do remember that I thought it was a good pick so I cant see trying to outsmart you and pick someone else. 4. If you had to change any of the award or add award to the Vancouver Wolves presentation which awards, would you change or add and why? The Glue Award given to Riley Martin. There were many games that he was the passer just before the 3 players touched the puck to get the points. And Riley took shots that set up goals, but his touch on the puck was outside the point scoring… 5. So we traded our MVP tender to Toronto; do you know have these games circled on the calendar or is it just another game against Toronto? Explain…. Oh, I’m not concerned at all. I have a deal with Valdr that he’s going to open his legs if I take a shot on goal, and I’m going to let the puck go by if I think its gonna get him a point, so long as Vancouver still wins the game. 6. Riddle: Made for victory, not for sipping tea; if you win me once, in history you will be. What am I? Although all were great teammates and players so really hard to say. BUT, Ill tell you who were NOT going to miss and that is @ScottyP 2. King Kiss is a great pickup. Teammates with him in Warsaw. Great player and LR guy 3. We had a rough year keeping consistent scoring for sure. Dalkr would have been my pick just due to the 5 shutouts and amazing play. We just didn't help him out 4. It would be "THE LOAD" award for the player who we have to carry through the season for his bad play. YOU KNOW WHO 5. I wish him luck in Toronto but we have to light him up 6. I think we will definitely miss Calaway in the line up, he put up a lot of points and played well for us. Great player, 2. I think all the additions will be big for us, Kisslinger is an elite player and will score a lot of points, Wheeler moving to D is a huge help at both ends, Stefano is a great young player with a big opportunity, but of course Gavilrovs staying put is the most key move of all! 3. I do agree that Vidarsson was our MVP, he's a fantastic goalie and had a huge year. He was a key reason for our success. I would have picked him also. 4. The awards a great, I just won a few of them and am pretty happy about it. They are fun and try to reward all areas. I wouldn't change much but maybe a most improved award? 5. Vidarsson is a fantastic goalie and I was sad to see him go, but I know he'll do great in Toronto. I'm always up for games against them, now there's just an added element. 6. Frank 5,209
1. Biggest departure from all the trades? Who are we going to miss the most? (Mark Calaway, Guntis Gavilrovs, Dalkr Vidarsson, Owen Lazaro or Pierre Marc Bouchard) Explain why? I think Vidarsson will be missed the most if Soju doesn't live up to the hype. But I think all plaeyrs are kind of equal also I'm not sure why PMB is there and don't let me relive the butchering of our boy Guntis. 2. Vancouver also add a few players so which is the key addition to the roster that will make a huge impact this season? (Matteo Stefano, Rip Wheeler, King Kisslinger or Guntis Gavilrovs) Explain!! I am being trolled! I think King Kisslinger will have the biggest impact but I wouldn't be surprised to see Stefano have a big season, but also it will be tough for him playing with so many high tpa forwards. Hopefully the chemistry clicks this season! 3. Award have been present and one of the hardest ones I had was picking last year’s MVP Who would you have picked for our MVP or do you agree with my selection? I think because of how inconsistent our scoring was, Vidarsson was the right selection he started off slow but was consistent all the way until the end. The forwards and defense were pretty level nobody really separated themselves from their teammates. So you made the right choice. 4. If you had to change any of the award or add award to the Vancouver Wolves presentation which awards, would you change or add and why? Add best locker room presence award or something along those lines. We have so many great people and personalities in our discord LR it'd be a shame not to reward someone for their wit. Ninefingers being the captain makes him the best leader so that award feels too easy, but we have so many great voices and leaders on the team! 5. So we traded our MVP tender to Toronto; do you know have these games circled on the calendar or is it just another game against Toronto? Explain…. Hopefully it doesn't bite us in the ass. I think if the cap wouldn't have been an issue next season we could have held onto him a little longer. Dismissing the fact Soju is my player, it just made too much sense to go with the younger goalie who is cheaper especially if goaltending isn't as important in the hybrid system. Although I'm still not convinced that the low tpe goalies are a new meta but this season should answer that with Moscow having a 500 tpe starter. 6. Riddle: Made for victory, not for sipping tea; if you win me once, in history you will be. What am I? The Continental Cup. I'm still going to steep earl grey tea in it.
