Less a player name and more a player, it's really great to see Thad back. Good member, and hope he stays active - could definitely be #1 pick in next year's draft.

I really want to be in the top three seeds. We've stumbled a bit recently and fallen behind Riga, but I've got faith in this team to pick it back up and do great things.

Not really much of a resolution person, but I have been reading more so far in January. That's something I'd like to maintain for the rest of the year, we'll see if it sticks.

 

4. How far along are you in terms of your ideal build (have you reached it, are you banking for depreciation, etc.)?

I'm actually at an interesting spot where any increases would take a lot of TPE. But at the same time, it feels too early to start banking with depreciation a season and a half away? So I need to see what I want to do about that.

 

5. Who would you say is your player’s best friend on the team?

Bucatini's relationship with Del Rocco is well documented at this point. But with him being new, it's like your boyfriend from another school coming to your prom - it's weird to introduce him to all my Davos friends from the past four years.

I'm actually more of a tea person just because I don't really like coffee that much. But the honest answer, probably to my detriment: diet coke.

Hope that Carolina will be able to keep Rantanen because the cost of a half season is insane. Necas is also a really good player and will do well for Colorado so good for both team. Just don't understand why Chicago didn't get more, but maybe lot of teams were available to retain salary?

It's all about confidence. Moscow may be the higher seed, but we've beaten this team as the lower seed before. Just need to jump out to an early lead and hold.

Vancouver has a lot of players with experience who have won plenty in the past. I'm not going against them until proven otherwise.

 

4. What keeps you active and motivated as a member of the VHL?

For me, it's all about personal goals. I'm not a big Discord chatter or anything, so it's fun just to try and accomplish the most that I can with my player, and see what happens.

 

5. For player names, where do you personally get inspiration from?

It's all over the board really, but I do like actual person names rather than memes. Makes it feel more grounded to me. But where that person name comes from, it's whatever pops up at the time of recreation.

Just wild. It seems like it's all about a Mavs GM who thinks he knows more than everybody else, which is just not a fun place to be. I feel bad for Dallas fans.

1. Our season may be over but I am extremely proud of our squad. Any final thoughts on our performance throughout the entirety of S97?

I would have wanted more, but I felt we acquitted ourselves well. Took a very strong Moscow team to the brink, and I think we'll be back next year.

 

2. Who do you predict will win the Continental Cup now that another round is over?

If Moscow can beat us, then surely they can beat anybody! But seriously, I think they have to be the favorites now that Malmo and Vancouver got knocked out.

 

3. Were there any eliminations so far that surprised you this playoffs?

I really thought Malmo was going to be able to overcome the Victory Cup curse given their experience and that strong defense. But Riga's a very strong team as well, and props to them for getting it done.

 

4. Is there anything about the VHL that you would like to change if you could?

Honestly, any changes would just be at the margins, stuff like adjusting update scales or recruitment ideas. You don't have a league that's lasted this long if the fundamentals weren't sound.

 

6. Do you prefer the summer or winter Olympics?

It's got to be summer for me. While I appreciate the hockey and it's fun to see some of the niche sports like luge/bobsled, the amount happening during the summer Olympics makes it such a big event.

 

7. Yesterday’s Super Bowl was probably one of the most snooze-worthy I’ve seen in a while. Did you watch the game?

My extended family's originally from the Philly area, so even though I'm not an Eagles fan, I'm happy for all them. Philly fans often get a bad rap - they're passionate, but I don't think that's a bad thing.

I really don't care. My guess was us winning vs Vancouver in the finals. both are out.

Summer overall, Winter for ice hockey.
