Da Bearz: Off-season

Man, that was a lot of fun. We're ready for more. Winning that series in that amount of games to the Malmo Nighthawks was epic. The party is still slightly felt in Seattle and it was a really fun thing to be able to get that cup with this group of guys so much faster than we all thought. Hell, I've learnt that you never know when your next cup is going to be. I got to thinking and just wanted to drop a little blurb off my thoughts heading into the off-season on what it's going to be looking like for the Bears as they enter the conquest of repeating their triumph and defending their championship. I think it's doable. I think the possibilities are very strong.

  • Seattle has a stacked group of depth forwards and over 50% of those forwards are in their rookie contracts of their careers. This means great, active players on the ice and even more so in the closer room. Looking at the roster, it doesn't lie. It's only going to get better.
  • Our defence lost a small bit but looking at how things are going this off-season, there's a pretty solid chance it's replaceable with either a top end guy or a mid level defender coming in to fill holes. We know our youth can step up. We watched it happen in the playoffs. Ambrose Stark (myself), Hulk Hogan ( @HulkHogan) and K. Low ( @Smarch) hold the blue line at the moment. Only 3. But 3 real good ones that are still in their rookie phases of contracts. $.
  • Our goalie, well... he's playoff MVP. It wasn't by mistake. His last series was a little tougher, but you could flip the mirror and show Malmo's goalie playing the same. Both teams played their own games well. The best part about this? @Rayzor_7 is only going to get better.

Seattle understands that they have a few small areas to look at. They currently have a stacked team, are looking heavily to defend their title and are going to be looking to do everything in their power to make that happen. That could be through FA signings, trades etc. They will be adding talent and they are interested in talent. There's a lot of names out there right now, throughout the whispers of the league, but also very apparent if you look at teams finances and see what players are left without a contract, that the Bears and the Bears brass have been speaking about behind close doors. The moment those doors open, you can expect the Bears to be there. They're lifting the cup in S69. They are defending. It's going to be a lot of fun to see who is going to be a part of that and we're excited to see who we roll into the season with.

Sounds like a fun group to be around. Looking forward to watching you guys kick ass next season.

Best group I’ve ever had and all people have to do is look at our roster and see how scary good it is. It’s only improved from last season and now with @oilmandan FINALLY COMING TO SEATTLE (Ive wanted this to happen for forever)...
