The Draft

It was a busy day for Moscow during the draft. 2 first round picks and multiple trades for the Menace, what more can you ask for? I was unfortunately away for the draft (thanks back to back 12 hour shifts) so I'm just seeing for the first time now. @Victor has not disappointed with the very active draft day. First, lets get to the trades. Moscow moved their S73 3rd round pick to Seattle in exchange for RW Remy Moreau. I like the move a lot, without this move we probably wouldn't have gotten a winger with a decent amount of potential. Moreau will probably get lots of comparisons to whoever that 3rd round pick ends up being. Welcome to the team @Da Trifecta! Onto the second trade, ill try to pick this one apart, but off first glance it seems Moscow wants to get those rookies here now as apposed to later.

Wow does this trade excite me. Lucas Brandt is the biggest piece coming back to Moscow. A skilled center-man who put up 87 points in his VHLM rookie season, A typical super solid 1st round pick. Glad to have you @twists! Vin Calia is another center-man that was acquired. Drafted last year in early round 2, Calia is making a name for himself. he put up an astounding 128 points in 72 games in his final VHLM season. Welcome to Moscow @VinCal! Krestanovich was the 3rd piece coming back to Moscow. This small RW has a knack for scoring, and put up 24 points in his rookie season with Saskatoon in the VHLM. Welcome to the team @Boragina!Now to get 3 promising young players is gonna cost you, but I think for the price of 2 seconds and a first, its worth a shot to try and squeeze in another core faster. Moscow picked up Alex Letang with their other first round pick at 11OA. Letang put up 56 points as a defenseman in his rookie season in the VHLM. Welcome to Moscow @Spartan! Moscow made a third trade almost a week ago, sending Gritty and Smitty to Vancouver for Depth D man Jacob Perry. Perry should fit into Moscow just fine, with Pavlov and Lagesson to show him the ropes as well. Glad to have you here @Liberty_Cabbage! With the European conference seemingly wide open for now, Moscow still have every shot to make a push for the finals. With the team looking more spread out, this off-season could be looked at as a shot to stay competitive in the future. Its not a secret that Moscow have seen better days, but the returning core will look to lead the young guns on the team.

As I type this article with excitement for the future. Everyone at Moscow will not be forgetting what Smitty @flyersfan1453 and Gritty @ContinentalCup036 have done for Moscow during their 3 seasons with the team. Lots of great memories, and who can forget winning the continental cup with them! I wish you guys the best of luck in Vancouver!

Moscow sent Smitty and Gritty to Prague, not Vancouver, but I couldn't make the "rights deal" stick and they subsequently signed with Vancouver

Ah I see I didn’t know I had just assumed, but thanks for the correct info?
