Congrats Coach. Well deserved man hope you have a great ceremony/life ahead with the future Mrs...Coach. Also whenever I've talked to females or anyone non VHL related about the VHL the conversation goes like this. "You play and post as an imaginary player and update your attributes in an imaginary league with people you've never met?" Of course they say that layered with so much judgement in their tone. And I laugh, casually and go. "Yep, just like you and most of the world watch movies...about fictional imaginary people pretending to do things that most of the time never happened, or play a video game set in worlds that in some cases could never exist as you play pretend." Ultimately...we all enjoy pretending. It's just more common for graphics, and TV's and music to be the method to "trick" us into immersing into said activity. Your imagination is just as useful as those things, so selling yourself short and saying that all these other forms are so much more legitimate is nothing but a joke. Fake is fake. The enjoyment you get out of things is all that needs to be legitimate.

People who watch shows to see constant plot moving forward at the expense of characters are generally not big on pure character shows such as Breaking Bad. They like TV usually more so for unpredictable holy shit moments. While BB had some of that sprinkled in it really shines in episodes most find boring. The slow heavily intense character episodes early in the first season are a pure example of this. Walt alone struggling with his pride, his life, getting cancer and his family to me was so engagingly. Episodes of Walt and Jesse stranded as they explore the depths of their patience also just great to me. For others that stuff is dull because very little happens. But those who do find BB mind blowing generally do because when you spend so much investment making your characters feel like real people with real growing organic personalities and issues when you get to the holy shit moments they hit so much harder. I've seen a million shoot outs in action movies and other shows but when it happens in BB its gutwrenching. I feel the emotion because bullets are being fired by and at more than just superficial plot pieces, but by people who the show has worked so hard to make me believe exist. Some have a much easier time investing and suspending their critical mind but I know for me that is what set BB apart. Its commitment to spending time making the characters feel real.

Downie is pretty good actually. But I'm curious to see if Flyers can fix things. Surprised Lavl got the boot 3 games in.

I may do the same. I generally always like to follow and cheer for one team from the opposing conference. Obviously Caps are my team but I used to always follow the Wings. Now that they are in the East I was planning on following a younger team, Dallas was likely my choice but after seeing Avs play last night may have to follow them instead.

Yeah I didn't see it in the thread when I looked yesterday. Either way it's a great mock up.

Ben Lovejoy also hit Mackinnon knee on knee a bit earlier. I watched this whole game actually, Avs look very good. Mackinnon is a stud. But essentially Roy got mad that Lovejoy went knee on knee on Mackinnon and sent out his bruising line which got everyone mad. Then he started yelling at Perry clearly mouthed "fuck you" to him and then nearly killed BB with the divider. Roy is going to be hilarious to watch this season I think.

Green is iffy but returned to form last season. Offensively anyway. So he has the stats there. Schultz I agree with but he had solid points last season as well. Even if Edmonton loses he could have a whale of a season. Bouqmeester is tough, as he will likely get top minutes with your great selection in Pietrangelo. The rest of my roster though I'm very happy with, lots of balance for all the fantasy stats. C - Toews C - Lecavlier C - Seguin LW - JVR LW - Ryan O Reily LW - Lucic RW - Ovechkin RW - Brouwer RW - Tarasenko G - BOBROVSKY G - Holtby I mean a few "iffy" but potential picks there but if they work out (Tarasenko, Seguin, Holtby) they work out really good. I'm curious what you ended up with for a roster Kendrick?

Keith, Justin Schultz, Green, Bouwmeester and McDonaugh say hi. But yours is pretty fucking sensational. I honestly feel like those of us who actually drafted have a huge advantage here. My entire draft team seems way too good.

I am not able to see this Red Skin either. I've gone through all my options under change theme. They all look relatively the same save for the banner 808 did at the top.
