  1. We are only 8 games into the 41st season of the VHL, however early on Brady Stropko of the Seattle Bears is making a name for himself as the hot young superstar to watch. Stropko is tied for the league lead in points with 15, leads the league in goals with an astonishing 11, and is obviously a early favorite for rookie of the year. While thus far his individual success has not translated to much team success, Stropko is a shining star among a rebuilding Seattle Bears squad. Coming off a year when 3 rookies made their way into the record book, Stropko could follow suit in what marks another legendary season for a rookie in the VHL. The question for Stropko will be if he can keep pace as the grueling haul of the season rolls along.
  2. That was the hook of Guardians though. So many of the rest of the big budget Marvel movies are "funny" but still super self serious. Guardians was literally a big budget B movie that is filled with silly campy humors and over the top space opera plot. I felt that was half the charm of it. That it wasn't afraid to be exactly what it should of been. Absurd, silly and campy. Not every movie needs to be a Picasso of plot and character development to the point that it's amazing. I still respect your right to dislike it, and if I were to compare it with actual films that I hold up as pieces of art/more moving stuff it's not even in that realm. But that is kind of the point. It wasn't made to be in that category. Mindless entertainment as a means to connect the space stuff with the Marvel universe in a way that audiences would respond to, and not resent.
  3. 10 shots, and a goal and 2 assists. No need to complain you and Laich are tearing it up together!
  4. Brick Wahl was a Wahl for this one.
  5. Stat padding against Davos? I LAICH IT!
  6. Well thats a hell of an opener for us!
  7. http://www15.zippyshare.com/v/92879093/file.html The ever mysterious no show hype....... Edit - Audio appears to be messed up. I am only getting me, even though I have set it to mono countless times messing with the actual tracks of our recording but it doesn't seem to have picked up Jericho/Chris. Lemme see if I can fix this. Double edit - looks like it messed up and I can't fix it. GOD DAMNIT. I don't want to have to re-record this. Triple edit - This is going to have be a placeholder post until we re-record then. Fucking lame.
  8. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" That scream was genius!
  9. You were probably the most shouted out player on the Pajodcast for how underrated you were. Good career sir, and look forward to your recreate!
  10. Green obviously had all the confidence in you PC crew. Thanks for your heaping support Greeny!
  11. Dear god I haven't though about Readers Digest in forever. My grandmother used to have those hanging around the house, even as a kid I was perplexed by their existence.
  12. Yeah I figured I'd let him take the liberty of showing an actual hockey player as opposed to whatever the hell Richardson actually is. A hockey larper who really works 8 hours a day at Taco Bell and owns a pet goldfish named Rupert right?
  13. Some of it will get listed on the card next season some not. Higgins figured out how to get the flip effect working on the forum so it's just a matter of executing that and then figuring out layout/what we want to put on the back for next set. But the fronts and backs are on the player pages right now for this set.
  14. Your welcome. I did all the PC write ups haha. Also yeah when we did this for last season Kendrick Seattle had no actives.
  15. Go check your player pages. We don't have the card flip effect on the player pages, but I have spoken with Victor/Higgins about it and since the coding for it is HTML we may be able to get something going. We'll see. But the front and back is on peoples player pages.
  16. Has to do with some peoples player profiles listing states and countries and some listing countries. We have a format in place for next year with what we will be putting on that slot, in the case of countries we are going to replace it with World Cup eligibility.
  17. If you go around the boards to player pages, you'll notice the entire set of Season 40 has been added to the applicable player pages. With some help from Boubabi I have gotten an entire set base done up here with card flip effects for everyone to enjoy and see in one place. I want to thank Boubabi and all of the PC crew (Jackim, Frank, Noah, 701, and Kesler) they did a fantastic job! I realize we are late on the season, but we had a delay and then had to replace most of the PC crew halfway into the season. We will be getting started on the Season 41 set soon, and it should be up before the start of the playoffs in Season 41. Without further adieu...here is the cards! North American Conference Calgary Wranglers New York Americans Quebec City Muete Toronto Legion European Conference Cologne Express Davos Dynamo Helsinki Titans Riga Reign Vasteras Iron Eagles Note that the players team locations and the subtext was made for the "start" of Season 40. Now to give everyone a heads up for next seasons cards, we will also be doing where players are at the time of season start. We only do active players as well. The "rules" for our active players is someone who has updated within the last month of the time I go through and compile an active list. So if you want a PC done for you with a set just keep updating every weekish and you'll be done. Enjoy everyone!
  18. Thats a fair statement. But that is kind of what games are becoming now. As a loyal follower of GB I rarely agree with all of their reviews. I just love their video content and their anti corporate approach to games coverage. Reviews for Destiny and not just on the GB side of things were very much the same as Driveclub. People expected something more like Borderlands with an MMO vibe and got something a bit more hybrid/risky and focused on what it wasn't as opposed to what it was. I personally love Destiny, and felt that because of expectations it really wasn't given a fair shake from reviewers. But at the same time the PR teams build that hype, and remained vague about the game. Driveclub was in a similar boat, they didn't talk at length about the systems/structure of the game before hand. Games are in a real weird spot right now all together though. You have the copy and paste Ubisoft formula, literally all of their games involve the same concepts of mini map finding "towers" or equivalent and unlocking your side objectives swallowed by whatever genre of gameplay and insert stereotypical story. Even all the clones of theirs, a game I really enjoy like Shadows of Mordor followed so much of that ilk. Then you have the games that are trying to take advantage of the popular genres that did hit, like MMO hybrids, or MOBA hybrids. On both sides it's been severely underwhelming reaction wise, mostly because people are sick of seeing "last gen games" which is what the Ubisoft/a-typical approach feels like, but nobody really knows from a larger perspective what "new" to do. They just are adding concepts and elements from other things into their games. Everything that is new ends up feeling so similar, but with "twists" that it's tough to appreciate it. If it wasn't for the indy game scene games would be in a real awful place right now creatively I feel. I'm hoping with a lot of big releases next year we'll see some more positive momentum. Ultimately though I get why reviewers/opinions are swayed more towards people not meeting expectations that exist in the industry and not being even more than what those expectations are. It has just been so long since a big AAA game really floored anybody from really any angle.
  19. I mean reviews are opinions. Across the board Driveclub has had people on both sides either say they love how it controls/handles or hate it. He was on the side of those who hated that aspect of it. It already lost marks for me because I don't like circuit racing driving games, just not my style. Not a big fan of GT. I miss the old Need for Speed customize your car in an open world style racing games. That or Burnout Paradise. It's why The Crew was on my radar. But all are still opinions. Of course you like it, I haven't seen you bad mouth a single PS product ever. Even when they were handled poorly. In the case of DriveClubs launch I haven't seen any posts from you about how horrible it's been with the technical stuff, the delaying of the PS+ edition etc. But if this was Microsoft doing it you can bet your ass you'd have a post about how mishandled it was. It isn't me trying to call you out for being a fanboy, I'm just saying. I own more Sony products than anything but they did handle this Driveclub launch horribly. But once they finally release the free version I'll give it a chance, see if the handling/controls and pretty visuals are enough for me to enjoy track racing.
  20. Yeah I have no doubt they will get to it all eventually. But it was a bad launch for a game that a lot of people didn't end up liking anyway. I have yet to try it, but graphically it looked super impressive. It's just one of those things that made me wish Sony had a Forza Horizon equivalent coming out this year though. I'm still curious about The Crew but reviews have been mixed and several big outlets have yet to give a review on it due to the embrago stuffs.
