Haha 79 shots on net for us in the Chicago game? Wow. If we can just pot 10 on net every game per player from here on out I'm totally okay with that.

While the Phantoms have hid a bit of a snag of late, there was a point a few games ago where they were second in the European Conference. However FA acquisition Sven Reikkinen says he's been enjoying his time with the competitive team. The following was a quote from the Fin before a recent game. "Yeah look it's always up and down in this league so we've been on a bit of a cold stretch of late. I think we can play better than we have though. I'm just happy to be playing important games, not sitting on the face of a rebuild looking in. I loved the team in London and the atmosphere but I think sometimes you need to be in the thick of it to grow as a player, that is something I'm really looking forward to this season with Prague. Overall I've felt I've gotten more confident in my game, and that my ability to provide stability as well as generate some offensive chances just with my shot has progressed. We still have a lot of season left and I'm feeling good about where this Prague team can go this season." Right now Sven is currently is pacing to have the best statistical season of his career to date, which you would expect for a fourth season player of his caliber on the uptrend coming out of his contract. Still, you never know when you go from being one of the better D on a team to playing with a lot of similar and better caliber players if your going to be able to keep up or continue to improve the metrics. Thus far Sven is fitting in fine with the Phantoms, even if they'd still like to see some more goals from the Fin, especially on the power play.

1. Season 81 has begun. What do you think about our start? We've been pretty good, we could be a little more consistent especially offensively but it's an up and down league and that is going to happen sometimes. I think in general as a team though we've shown we are absolutely a playoff team and a Cup contender if things go right for us. 2. What are your personal goals for this season. Not suck? Truthfully I'd just love to be in any of the D award races, although realistically given his lack of hitting Sven probably doesn't have a chance ever at the top defensive D. Need to get some more goals going though, he's slowed a bit there with Prague due to all the goal scoring options. 3. If you could get any individual award which would you like the most. Umm *looks up* I'll go with the Labatte for best overall D. I think if you had the SB and the +/- to go with a high point total you can contend for that with low enough hits, as long as the rest of the defensive metrics are very strong. 4. What is something you would change about the vhl. Go back in time, realize what the league was becoming and growing into and properly prepare it for some of the things we probably (i did see) coming. Realistically though I think we need a new sim engine and I've said that for years. As we continue to grow and patchwork our way around the limitations of STHS it just makes sense that we need to inevitably find something that works better for our player pool and build meta structure. 5. Did you decide to partake in VHFL? If so how do you think your team will do? I normally would but inactive Devise is just trying to get back to earning to the Cap and not wasting his Fan590 player store purchase, so I'll say this is a hard no. I missed it as I do a lot of the off-season stuff these days. Off-season for me is like a "what VHL?" time sometimes depending on the stress haha. 6. Did you snag any black Friday/cyber Monday deals? If so what did you get? Fuck capitalism. No seriously, I have no problem with sales but people need to realize that you can get deals equivalent to Black Friday and Cyber Monday throughout the year if you pay attention. If your the type of person who see's people trample each other as they get in line to buy the newest products on sale or whatever during these holidays and you go "there is nothing wrong with that" I got some bad news for you about where society is going to be headed. /rant There is nothing wrong with a little capitalism here or there mind you, but the structure of stuff like that is plain unhealthy. My advice? Don't buy into that shit. It's bad. For society. Seriously.

After much delay and hassle, resim of the open triple sim to start the season is done. I'll be doing another double sim later tonight to catch us up to where we are supposed to be at this season, I just want to give some time for GM's to make adjustments if needed. Thanks for all your patience.

Where did the triple sim from last night go you ask? Well it's still in the index but ignore that as it's being resimmed tonight. As for the reason: It turns out the two expansion teams would like their roster of players. Not just the few I saw when I built the index. Perhaps creating the bots and filling them up without bothering to look at their updated roster would be my boo boo. Perhaps possibly doesn't mean perhaps in this paragraph. Anyway; resim tonight see ya then.

INDEX @VHLE GM Index is finally here, just a note for the two expansion GM's (Geneva and Oslo) that I haven't created the bots yet but given your roster sizes you don't need to send in lines, I can auto that through once I've created the bots and we are ready to go. For everyone else the rosters should be fine send in those lines! If you have any issues with your line ups you should hopefully know the drill. Shoot me a PM or DM on Discord and we can clear it up. As a last note, I'm still not on a great enough internet to be able to do livestreams for a spell yet, which is why we structured me to run E this season. I'll likely be able to livesim again before the season is over however so once that can become a more normal thing I'll let you know. Anyway; lets have a fun second season of this here E league thing.

Thanks to all the interested parties, wanted to make a decision on the first day. @Banackock and @Nykonax Seattle and Vancouver are both very good teams and I totally get the appeal of FA stacking for your best chance at a Cup. I however was looking to not only find myself on a bit more competitive team for a couple seasons, but also nail some more bucket lists for non OG franchises that I have yet to play for. I still very much wanted to stick with London as well as @McWolf can attest, but the team being stuck for a few seasons trying to find it's competitive wings means that there is a window for Sven to venture out hit a bucket list team that also happens to be in a competitive swing here. I'm happy and excited to join @Acydburn and the Prague Phantoms for the next couple of seasons here.

Regardless of the incident that happened on Discord last night (that sounds like it's being properly investigated by the mods) I did want to echo the sentiments here about a much needed culture shift in the VHL. There has been some talk privately with Blue from the mod team about some more clearing of the air on the guidelines and standards for moderation. While this is still a work in progress, I do think that the argument that more appropriate representation on the mod team is something we should absolutely consider. Especially as we look examine what is and isn't appropriate behavior from the ground up. Insight from the people who are going to be the most outside of this culture bubble that absolutely does exist on the VHL and has for years seems like a minimum. A starting point to then working on trying to get some of our culture fixed up even more, and hopefully to create a more welcoming community for everyone. Please don't use this as an opportunity fellow members who like myself are due some of this critique, to dig in your heels and presume we don't have these problems. The "joke" that is our Discord situation can stop being a joke at some point and start cleaning itself up so people don't feel so alienated or uncomfortable spending time chatting there.

INDEX @VHLM GM We finally have an index! I obviously given my own delay will not be starting the playoffs until we have all the GM's lines in, but feel free to send your lines in via the portal. If you have sent them in already trying to use the regular season index I'd still recommend pulling the playoff client file and sending in lines again. If you have any roster notes feel free to hit me up via PM on the Forum or DM on Discord and I'll make sure to get them in for your games. We'll be doing a double sim today (Friday) to make up for missing the start of the playoffs on Thursday. I'll do them in pieces though to give GM's a chance to adjust lines as needed after the first two games. Thanks for the patience let's have a fun playoffs everyone!

Here ye here ye, it is the VHL's biggest season in ages. A new league, 6 "sorta new" teams and a roster cull. I feel like I was just talking about how the season was just starting and it was fun to be entering new territory as a league here. Then a plethora of life things happened, and the usual hustle and bustle of the season took hold and before you knew it, here we are. Sitting not that far away in the final week if I got my math right of the end of the regular season for S80. I haven't honestly paid that much attention to the E, not as much as I'd hope I would. It's not the fault of the league or me not even having a player there, life created a situation where I'm only really tracking my own player this season minus a few check ins to the E a few times this season. I know for me personally given I always thought they were a stellar logo it's nice to see Stockholm light it up this year. But in general the parity (as expected given the league size) would be a bit higher in the E and realistically 5 of the 6 teams have all been competitive, which is good to see. For now though we'll just have to keep rolling with it. There doesn't seem to be any "breaking at the seams" with a third league as a certain someone might of had you believe, and I think we'll be able to start looking at and using some data for how it's affecting career paths and overall league flow after 3 seasons of it being in operation. Obviously we know stuff now, but the first season of a shift like this is always a settling in process, and as things get into full swing we can then really start to gauge the effect this has had on roster sizes, player stats, and the player experience. Onward, forward, progress, you know that sort of thing.
