Solid use of B&W. I really like how sharp the face is combined with a good use of blur to create a nice look. The lighting could be a little bit better contrast wise which would help out a lot. You have to remember that lighting is especially important when you don’t have colour to work with. I also like the idea behind the stat sheet effect but maybe clean it up a little so that it isn’t all over the place as much.

Dmoushey_31 reacted to Toast in Riga things
I’d just like to point out once again that predicting that Cologne wouldn’t be swept with a win against the wall is one heck of a win for me! I’m going to enjoy that extra one TPE…
Back to Riga news though. It’s a shame that we weren’t able to get to the Final ourselves, but to advance to the European final in the first season this team is really together is one heck of a feat. We’re only going to get better going forward and hopefully we will be able to find a few other pieces in the off-season to really help this team move forward.
After the flop that was Kopralkov’s first season, he had quite the good post-season! Going toe-to-toe with Sandor just goes to show how damn annoying the sim is when it comes to goalies but is also a cool little thing for my rookie goalie. With another big update to come through the off-season hopefully Kopralkov will bounce back nicely from the rough start and Riga can go on a great run!
Going into Faux’ last season we really need to do whatever we can to make a solid run in the conference next season. There’s a lot of room for opportunity so hopefully we can take advantage of it.

Text is the main thing to hold this back. Also, think the stock work could be a tad better here. Outside of that, great job.

With more practice and experimenting, I think you have the potential to do even more good work. @Dmoushey_31

Jordan Maverick is Quietly Having a Career Season

Jordan Maverick celebrates after a goal
"Jordan Maverick" may not be a household name around the VHL, but he is certainly starting to turn heads in Riga. Now, the Reign aren't looking like the greatest team on the planet right now and currently hold a 9-22-5 record while placing 4th in the European Conference. However, they are only 4 points behind the last playoff spot, currently owned by the Titans. Maverick is a big reason as to why the Reign still have a chance at seeing post-season action.
After 36 games played, Maverick has 12 goals and 21 assists for 33 points, which is good for 2nd on the team. He also brings a big physical presence to the game, throwing out 104 hits, while only being hit 69 times himself. He creates plenty of turnovers and scoring chances going the opposite way. He was given more responsibility this season and has been on the first line for most of the entire season. While Riga is a young and developing team, Maverick hopes to be a player that can lead by example and help drive his team forward for a hopeful playoff appearance. At the end of last season, Maverick had 19 goals and 26 assists for 45 points. He is on pace to set new personal records for goals, assists, points and hits this season.
Maverick was asked recently about his performance so far this season. "I'll be honest, for awhile I was just going through the motions of being a new player on a struggling team. For most of my career, I feel like the teams I've been on didn't have high aspirations and just weren't able to find the edge or stride or whatever it took to be more than just competitive. So, I decided recently that instead of just sitting back and observing, that I would take it upon myself and make sure that I was not the reason my team wasn't winning. I focus more in practice and am the first was on the ice and last one off. I normally have the backup goalie stay after practice now so that I can work on my shot, deflections, and a few other things. I'm hoping that the things I do now set an example for my team and maybe even inspire others to give it their all as well."
Jordan Maverick signed a 3 year contract at the beginning of the season in hopes that his dedication will inspire others to join, whether it be from within, or via trades and free agency. He has stated that he would ultimately like to fulfill his contract in Riga, but also wants to play for a winning team. Hopefully, he will be able ti do both! We are starting to see more Maverick jerseys in the stand as fans love his two-way ability, his knack for making a timely assist, and for his bone-crushing hits. Look for Maverick to keep getting better over the next few seasons as he has a shot of becoming more well-known league-wide!
