The Oslo Storm are currently locked in with the Ottawa Lynx for a battle to reach the VHLM conference finals, and one man who is feeling the pressure of the task ahead is rookie goaltender Arvid Aamo. The Storm's man in net for the season has delivered solid numbers but the task that lies ahead of him is large in its significance. If the Storm are to have any chance of reaching the next stage of the playoffs, Arvid must deliver a performance that his opponents simply have no answer for. In the first game of the series, the Storm suffered an unfortunate loss to the Lynx, losing 2-1 and sending some panic around the locker room about whether the team really has what it takes to successfully progress deeper into the playoffs. In answer to this, Aamo gave a much better performance in Game 2, collecting a shut out as he allowed the Lynx to score no goals, and the Storm squeaked by with a 1 goal victory. From what we've seen of this series so far it looks as if it's going to be incredibly tough for both sides, with only the slightest margins being able to separate them, and if the Storm are going to come out of the other side victorious, a lot of pressure will fall on Arvid's shoulders to help his team get there.

After the rather unfortunate circumstances in which his season began, with an infuriatingly long stretch as the team's backup for a reason that still remains a mystery to all, the chance provided to rookie goaltender Arvid Aamo of the Oslo Storm to show what he can do has been an opportunity that he has grasped with both hands. In the 39 games that he has started for the Storm in his run in net so far, Aamo has demonstrated his strong level talent by ranking in the top 3 league wide in all major goalie statistics, with the second best save percentage and a top 3 wins ranking despite  having nearly 30 less starts than the majority of his competitors. Aamo has been a big part of the strong run of form we've seen from the team of late and it's undeniable that he's really carried his weight in helping the team do as well as it has. Now that his faith and effort  has been rewarded with the chance to really play to his strengths and show exactly what he can do as a starting goaltender, it seems like the only was is up for Arvid Aamo, and the young Norwegian will be hopeful that his good run of form is something that will have caught the eyes of VHL GMs who could be looking at him as a potential franchise goaltender of the future come draft day.

After what has felt like an eternity spent so far this season sitting on the bench as the team's backup goaltender, it was today confirmed by the Oslo Storm that rookie goalie Arvid Aamo has been given the nod to take up the mantle of being the team's starter between the pipes for the remainder of the season. After being selected by the Storm in last season's VHLM Dispersal Draft, the (more or less) hometown kid had stepped into a situation where it appeared that he would be the clear choice as the team's main option in net, but due to reasons which haven't exactly been clear, the job was given to Emil Woods, a goalie who has been on the roster for quite a while without showing much improvement or progression but hadn't done that bad a job at holding down the role so far this season. Maybe this adequate performance was what made the team slow to give Aamo a chance, but after a consultation today followed up by a press conference it was confirmed that Aamo would be taking the reigns going forward. An exciting opportunity has arrived for the young goaltender to prove his worth to the team after being its backup for so long, it is up to him to now live up to his first impression.

Feeling shaky or is activity a good feeling?

It's a good feeling to be back and properly active. I'm hitting all the possible TPE weekly which is nice, and hope it goes to show people I'm serious about this player. The failed ones I made post Dadonov will most likely put a shadow over me I can't really get out of, but with them I knew myself they were never going to go anywhere, whereas I feel like I can take Aamo to some big heights.

Who do you want to be drafted by?

Honestly, I'm happy to be drafted by anyone. The landscape of the VHL has changed a lot in my time away in terms of who's where and what teams are good, so really I'd just like to end up in a destination where I'm wanted and there's gonna be

a chance for me to play.

    Expectations for your career?

I would love to make HoF. It's a bold statement but I think Dadonov would have gone there if he'd been on better teams and I'd kept earning TPE at the rate I had, he really played an incredible game during his first few seasons. To try and get Aamo there would be a fun experience.

The first 8 games of the Oslo Storm's campaign have been wholly uninteresting for rookie goaltender Arvid Aamo, largely due to the fact that he hasn't seen playing time in any of them. The Norwegian had been under the impression before the start of the season that he would be given a starting role and would have the responsibility to try and lead the Storm into the playoffs. However, things have shaken out differently, and the team has named Emil Woods as their starting goaltender in all of the first 8 games of S60. Woods has performed to a decent enough standard, keeping the team on a solid pace and in a middle of the pack position, but it remains unclear what the situation is going to be in net for the long term, as Aamo is unsure whether or not he will be getting the nod to step in and play some games during the next week or not. "I'm raring to go and eager to get out there and play some games" he told reporters this morning. "I hope the coaches give me the chance to show what I can do soon, and I'm able to get my first starts of the season under my belt". Exactly when we will get the chance to see Aamo start his first games in the VHLM remains unclear, but hopefully for him he'll soon get the nod and the opportunity to show what he is capable of.
