  1. Roster set. Jenkins and Ying replace Fujimoto and Krigars. Ying was NOT a selfish choice. I needed a pass-first forward and I still had TPE to mold him. I only chose Krigars before because with Fujimoto still on the roster I planned on one balanced line and one run-and-gun line, which won't happen now.
  2. Two roster moves: Conrad Jenkins @Kylrad replaces Takashi Fujimoto @BOOM and Rudi Ying @punkhippie replaces Fredinamijs Krigars @hedgehog337. Press conference tonight.

  3. Quebec's 1st is shaping up to fit in nicely with Key Perought's position on draft rankings! @NUCK
  4. Here I picked a roster and did lines for you. Anything for you Robbie. Kylo-Adultman-Harambe Dortch-Boeser-Dragonslayer Snow-JC Girard JourneyMan-McDouglas Manley (V2A maybe since he just retired) Lawrence
  5. thank you Boom and appreciate the support. The irregular heartbeat thing sadly is true, and I don't know why a generally healthy 23-year-old is having to deal with this crap.
  6. And congrats to @YEAH!stlemania for being the backup
  7. I will admit I made a mistake when announcing the initial six players for the roster. Conrad Jenkins should have been ahead of Takashi Fujimoto in any and most cases. Aside from Maximoff, Cornerstone, Digital, and Holikolov being correct choices, I will say I kind of picked Fook Yu and Fujimoto right off the bat without looking at all my choices, because they were both East Asian and I kinda have a long-standing bias towards Fong, and was teammates with Boom the whole year. I still debated a long time on taking Jenkins as the sixth forward, but definitely not at the expense of dropping Fujimoto because I REALLY didn't want to drop anybody that I already named and crush their spirits and potentially ruin future encounters. To be honest I debated dropping Fujimoto and/or Federov quite a bit the last few days. Ended up not taking Jenkins even with two open forward slots as I deemed Rodriguez and Krigars were better fits for the team with the other four forwards already named. It was also tough giving @hedgehog337 two spots in the team when I wanted as much active people as possible, but in the end I did what I had to do... Congrats to Krigars and @evrydayimbyfuglien on the last two forward spots. Regrets to @KitRas @Tyler @Kylrad and myself for missing out on the last forward spot. Honestly it took a LOT of thinking and internal debate and I doubted myself countless times. And I only threw myself in the mix because with about two more weeks of PTs before the WC starts, I could have potentially had at least 36 TPE to work with and mold a decent player that fitted the team style if I did my AB and RP.
  8. Anderson hospitalized due to irregular heartbeat; Team World ramblings Infamous player agent Scott Anderson was hospitalized overnight due to an irregular heartbeat as he was sent by ambulance from Vancouver International Airport yesterday. Anderson, who in addition to being Rudi Ying's player agent and being on the league committee that ensures the player base practices correctly, has recently had to deal with a full plate being recently named the general manager of Team World in the upcoming S54 World Cup after already stepping up to co-GM the Las Vegas Aces since Robbie Zimmers' personal leave. Returning from an overseas trip that included stops in Russia and Singapore to meet the player agents of Aleksei Federov and Takashi Fujimoto, Anderson was scheduled to fly onwards to Las Vegas to see the Aces host the Ottawa Lynx in game 5 of the VHLM playoff semi-finals. The Aces, who will now meet the Saskatoon Wild in the finals for bragging rights to the Four Star Cup, would eventually go on to beat the Lynx 3-2 in overtime courtesy of a Takashi Fujimoto hat trick. Anderson has since been released from hospital after undergoing intensive medical testing, which included, but was not limited to, blood tests, electrocardiogram tests, and x-rays of the chest. Although he is now back in his temporary residency of Las Vegas to watch the Las Vegas Aces go for their final four wins this year, he is scheduled to return to hospital early next week for further testing such as stress tests and echocardiogram ultrasounds. Rumours have been swirling lately over the final compliment of players that Anderson will take with him to the World Cup, as Team World looks to continue their medal streak after winning gold in S50 and bronze in S52. Anderson named six players - Jakab Holik, Bobby Digital, Pietro Maximoff, Franchise Cornerstone, Fook Yu, and the aforementioned Fujimoto - to the roster at the start of the week, and added a further three defensemen - Guntis Petenis, Maksym Barnyashev, and Seattle Bears' rookie Federov - a couple of days later. This leaves three open spots on the roster, one of which must be used to name a second goaltender in addition to Holik. While defensemen such as Pavel Komarov, Alexander Thrower, and Roman Sokolov are expected to be omitted, there are notable names up front such as Felipe Rodriguez, Fredinamijs Krigars, and Conrad Jenkins who one could make a solid case for being included, as well as a trio of VHLM forwards in Luigi De Rossi, Slava Aleksei, and Rudi Ying, who have all had varying degrees of success this year in the minors. Anderson has also made public comments in the past few days voicing his displeasure and frustration with the excessive number of snipers Team World has at its disposal this year. "While I would love to have a top six of Locke-Unassisted-Maxwell and Maximoff-Krigars-Kohler, I'm not sure how that would work as they are all shoot-first players," said Anderson. "That's a similar scenario I'm currently facing having to choose between a group of talented forwards such as Maximoff, Cornerstone, Fujimoto, Krigars, De Rossi, and Jenkins to name a few." Despite being named to the preliminary roster, Federov and Fujimoto were rumoured to be possible omissions from the final roster after Anderson met overseas with their player agents, however it will be tough to drop Fujimoto after his hat trick tonight single-handedly propelled the Aces to the playoff finals. It will be interesting to see how this plays out as Anderson is expected to meet the roster selection deadline and finalize his roster tonight.
  9. With the roster selection deadline for the S54 World Cup roster fast approaching, only 41 players have been named to the preliminary rosters. Team Canada and Team Western Europe (not including the lack of a backup goaltender) are the only two teams to have finalized their roster, barring any last-minute changes, while Team Scandinavia and Team World have both named nine players so far. Team USA has yet to submit their rostser, while Team Mercenaries have an extended deadline to select their players as they take their pick of the unchosen. Currently, Stockholm and New York each have seven players who will participate in the World Cup this off-season, while Quebec City and Helsinki will each send six players to the biannual tournament despite being the favourites to meet in the Continental Cup Finals. VHLM team Las Vegas Aces is next in line with five players participating in the tournament, including Rusty Trombone, Takashi Fujimoto, Diego Jokinen, Felix Savard, and Luca Volkov. The Riga Reign will have three representatives at the tournament, while the only other VHL teams that will be represented at the tournament so far are the Seattle Bears (Aleksei Federov), Toronto Legion (Torstein Ironside), HC Davos Dynamo (mist4ke), and Cologne Express (Markus King). The VHLM is also represented by a further three players with Oslo's forward duo of Mattias Forsberg and Verner Reinholdt both getting the nod for Team Scandinavia and Yukon Rush goaltender Key Perought earning the starting job for Team Western Europe in net by default. At the time of writing, the Calgary Wranglers are the only team in the VHL that will not be represented at the World Cup. 7 - Stockholm, New York 6 - Quebec City, Helsinki 5 - Las Vegas 3 - Riga 2 - Oslo 1 - Yukon, Toronto, Seattle, Davos, Cologne
  10. Oh shit, a goal, two assists, and first star!
  11. Team World roster to be finalized tonight! Two forward positions still open along with backup goalie, but could Ying make last-minute changes and drop some players already named?!

  12. We took a bit too much cocaine pre-game and it took longer than expected to wear off.
  13. Felix Savard to Cologne confirmed? Jakab Holik crapping the bed and getting pulled against Quebec?
  14. Home ice advantage shifts to the Big Apple
  15. Great initiative @Kendrick
  16. Gonna be a tight one. Keep fatiguing each other out and Vegas will meet whoever is stronger.
  17. @daBenchwarmer you WILL get more ice time tomorrow, our GM thought the game was tomorrow and didn't make the change in time. And why am I serving slashing penalties for @BobertZ, go sit in the box yourself for two minutes and give Ottawa a damn chance to score on the powerplay.
  18. That is a pretty good impersonation of DT though.
  19. Why the fuck does Team World have so many snipers at forward?

But my mind is blowing up trying to decide on which six forwards I'm taking. I'm on the fence for going all out run and gun with a first line of Maximoff-Krigars-Fujimoto/De Rossi...
