    @Sami K

Patrick Triscut is a balenced forward who can pot some goals, and make a sweet dish. He does not really excell at one area in perticular right now, as he looks like he plans to round out his game in juniors. Hes not exactly started off all that hot with 6 points in 26 games, but he has been a vocal leader in the lockerroom and a man who looks to be a solid addition to any team going forward.

In a typical draft he likely finishes in the first round no problem, but this is not a typical draft and started off abit later than many of the guys above him. He projects to be a late first or second rounder in a strong first gen draft class. Whoever nabs him will be lucky to have a potential star in the making in a later round than we usually find them.

    Welcome to the Bern Royals!

If you're a recreating member I'm sure you'll already know the best ways to maximize your player's TPE each week.

For new players: this site can be a little difficult to navigate around, so this thread will help you out until you get used to things.

You first start off by claiming the free 30 TPE for creating a player.

Each week you can earn a maximum of 9 TPE/week, excluding uncapped. Here are the normal ways to earn TPE.

-Each week you can do either a Media Spot or a Graphic. You can do one or the other each week. Media Spots are basically 450-550 word newspaper articles. Graphics are more like what you see in other member's sigs. If you want a better example, check a few that are posted in the sections.

For each MS or GFX, you will need two graders to grade the work. Grader's decide how much your Point Task is worth. Once the second grader has locked the thread, you can claim the Point Task for the amount of TPE the graders give you. They are worth a maximum of 6 TPE.

On weeks where you can't find the time to do a Point Task, there is an alternative that is less ideal. You can instead opt to do the Pension Plan. You post in the Pension plan thread and claim a lower amount of TPE than doing a Point Task, which forfeits the right to do a Point Task on that week. If you are a new player you may claim 2 TPE. If you've have one previous player with 400+ TPE/or your current player has surpassed 400 TPE  you may claim 3 TPE. If you've had two or more previous players with 400+ TPE/or you had one previous and your current player is over 400 TPE you may claim 4 TPE. Ideally you will do a point task instead of pension plan, but pension plan is better than nothing.

-After you've finished your PT for that week (Media Spot or GFX), you can also do a Fan 590 or a 2-Point Podcast. Fan 590's are a 150 word article that doesn't need to be graded, so it can be claimed right away. Fan 590s are worth 1 TPE. 2 Point Podcasts are worth 2 Points, and require an 8-10 minute podcast. You can only do either a Fan 590 or a 2 Point Podcast each week, not both.

-The only other way to earn capped TPE is to get a job in the league. Job opportunities are posted Here (LINK NOT UPDATED). There aren't always jobs available, but if you see one you're interested in don't be afraid to apply!

That's everything you can do to earn capped TPE, its impossible to get 9 TPE/week without a job, but you don't need one to be a great player in this league. There are a few other ways to earn TPE, this time uncapped.

-As long as you're in the VHLM, you'll be able to claim 1 TPE, uncapped, from the VHLM Practice Facility. Each week of the regular season a thread will be posted by the VHLM Commissioner. If you post in this thread, you automatically earn 1 TPE for that week, which can be claimed immediately.

-Another area that a lot of members forget it the VHL Fantasy Zone. There are multiple ways to earn uncapped TPE here.

-Each week of the regular season, there will be a thread posted for the VHL Pick 'Em. Three games will be posted that will take place later that week. If you can successfully guess all three winning teams you earn 1 TPE.

-Every two weeks the VHL Predict a Score takes place in a thread. This time only one game is posted, but you have to guess the winner AND the score of the game. If you successfully guess both, you earn 3 TPE.

Since many of you won't know much about the VHL, as you play in the VHLM, you may want to copy the predictions of another member, possibly your GM.

-Sometimes a Fantasy Pool will take place, ranging from NHL predictions to March Madness to College Football. Even if you know nothing about them, making a random ballot is a good idea. Everyone earns TPE for participating, more being earned based on accuracy.

-There is now a VHLM Fantasy Zone as well. The same rules and games apply as the VHL Fantasy Zone, but is only eligible for VHLM Players. All VHLM Players are still eligible to particpate in the VHL Fantasy Zone, so make sure to do both!

So basically you want to make sure that each week, before Sunday at 11:59 you do the following.

-Media Spot or Graphic / Pension Plan
-Fan 590 or Two Point Podcast
    -VHLM Practice Facility
    -VHL Fantasy Zone
    -VHLM Fantasy Zone

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I would like to add that you should do your rookie profile as soon as possible, because the 8 uncapped points can really help boost your tpe and stats for your achievement tracker for the end of the year.

You can also write your biography which is a one time claim of up to 10 uncapped tpe. This will consist of childhood, highschool and college (if you went). This could really give you a nice boost.

Doing these will help you be a star for your team, both here in Bern, and where ever you end up once you get to the VHL.

    Cheers!

Yeah, essentially cut the season shorter, and give 1-2 weeks where the entire TPE cap is doubled to 24, to make up for the week(s) lost to shortening the season

The offensive forward list at the end is a break down of how much "Overall" your player will increase as you spend your TPE for that ability.

So right off the bat with passing.

    Read this: Passing (40-70) 13.00

as: If you increase Passing from 40 tpe to 70 tpe, your overall will increase by 13.00 points

I'm hoping to be one of the premier defenceman in the VHL in five seasons and hope to become one of the leaders on the ice. As for a goal, I'm hoping to reach around 300 points in the VHL.

That's what I'm hoping to become, I feel like kids in places like Sweden need a hockey idol to look up to to ensure the game continues to grow in our homes.

I have always been willing to put in the effort but I have never managed to make everything click at once. The coaches have me watching film and performing many different drills to improve that portion of the game. I've learned that skating actually plays a bigger role than I expected when it comes to the defensive zone.

It has been great so far, not having to move to a new continent has probably helped me get off to a big start in the league. The guys in the locker room have been great too, I have no complaints with the team so far.

So guys i did want to talk about something as we have a lot of new members.

The VHL has a retention problem with people, some of it has to do with annoying ways to earn TPE. But alot can be attributed to, poor sim results. Everyone expects to be a star player right away.

Do not get discouraged, if your guy does not light it up right away. I will do my best to help everyone succeed, but aslong as you stay active and updating i promise the results will come.

A good example of this would be my current player Sergei Komarov i basically hit cap before end of the season, but my guy had 15 points all year. I came back down the next season with all my skills properly updated and ended the year with 130points, and a cup ring.

Just keep working hard and do not be afraid to ask me @Velevra @Beaviss @nikkurri17 questions as we are the vets.

    Hinga Dinga Durgen Jr. III

    Basic Information:
    Hometown: Copenhagen, Denmark
    Height: 6’4
    Weight: 215 lbs
    Handedness: Right
    Age: 18
    Jersey Number: 31

Hinga Dinga Durgen Jr. III is a Danish goalie born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Durgen always loved hockey from a young age. Throughout his goaltending career he has always played at exceptional levels, posting under a 2.00 GAA for all his seasons, and over a .910% SV PCT. Although facing a knee injury in his sophomore year of high school, he never flew under the radar and was able to have an exceptional junior season, being offered a contract from the Esbjerg Energy to play on their U-18 team in Denmark. He played an exceptional season there, and was posed on staying in Denmark to play hockey for a few more years. That was until the Saskatoon Wild of the VHLM offered him a contract.

    Pros:
Reaction Time: Durgen has always proved that he has a swift reaction time. Having the ability to make quick decision glove saves, going into the butterfly with perfect timing and exceptional response to the 2 on 1, almost being unbeatable when there is a pass across ice setting up a goal. Durgen combines his quick reaction time with his incredible reflexes to come time and time again making highlight reel saves to keep his team alive and give them a fighting chance. This skill shines bright on breakaways, penalty shots and shootouts, making him a reliable choice for any coach to make in must win scenarios and just everyday games.

Rebound Control: Durgen has shown through the years that he is great at taking away the rebound. Unless making a pad save, he gives up little to no rebounds. On scrambles in front of the net he follows the puck well often taking away those lucky bounces. On Esbjerg he shows that taking away second chance opportunities was a big priority of his and while playing for Saskatoon, it should be expected that he becomes a nearly mistake-free player.

Discipline: Durgen is an extremely disciplined player, learning to respect his coaches and management from a young age. Since he is a goalie he rarely gets in fights, and also does not chirp very often, letting his game do the talking. He rarely takes Delay of Game penalties where he did not make an attempt to play the puck. His teammates always seem to enjoy him, and he is not known for causing conflict in the locker room. Durgen rarely misses practice unless a serious issue arises. He is the embodiment of a disciplined goalie and is a good chance for teams.

    Cons
Size: Durgen isn’t the biggest goalie out there, he’s not particularly a guy who will take away opportunities strictly by size. He lacks in being able to take away high range shots, while he’s in butterfly and will give up goals often in the space between his side and post. Not to mention the fact he plays near the end of his crease a lot of the time creating scoring opportunities. Luckily this didn’t taint his stats because shots weren’t very accurate while he was a kid. However going against elite competition will test him and with more weight training and a new diet he can make up for his size.

Leadership: Always being known as a quiet one, he’s never really possessed the traits of a leader. If you want someone to rally your players and inspire them at a 2nd intermission to get them back in the game, this is not the guy for the job. He has always been a listener and is usually reserved. He maintains good relationships with his teammates and will sometimes act as a mentor to his fellow goalies, but that is only when he goes out of his way, not a normal occurrence

Style Control: Although being able to follow the puck well in various situations, he really is taken off guard by players who are good with their hands, and who can pull of insane dekes to score goals. This is something he will need to work on as he enters the VHLM as he will be facing more elite company, and you should expect him to keep improving in this category.

Hinga Dinga Durgen Jr. III Biography

    Early Life
Born in the city of Copenhagen, Denmark to two hard working parents, one being a butcher who owned his own shop and made a decent income and a stay at home mother. When he was three years old, he took his first step on the ice, as his father was always a huge hockey fan, especially of the local team Copenhagen Hockey in the Danish league, and always wanted his son to grow up playing hockey. By the time he was 5, his parents enrolled him in a hockey program for youth that were under 7, to hopefully get him to love hockey and not just the thrill of skating. His first few games were upsetting, he was playing forward and just got tired of getting shots and not scoring goals, so his coach switched him to defense. He didn’t do particularly well here either as he wasn’t strong in skating backwards and was too slow to keep up with the faster forwards. His father promised him that by next year he would be playing goalie, as the financial situation didn’t allow for more equipment at the time. Hinga endured the rest of the season playing a mixture of forward and defense ultimately scoring 1 goal. During that offseason his father bought him his first set of goalie equipment, it was expensive but his father was determined to have his son play hockey. He brought his son to the rink every morning to shoot pucks at him and practice all the fundamentals to being a goalie, and every night he brought him to gymnastics to gain flexibility so he could truly be the best goalie he could be. The following season he was only 6 but he was already beginning his long path to being one of the top prospects out of Denmark in years. In his first year of being goalie he played very well, putting up 3 shutouts in 18 games. For the next few years he took hockey very seriously, playing insanely well for someone of that age, until his grandfather died. His grandfather was an inspiration to him, he was the coach of his team, former goalie for Copenhagen Hockey and the one he spent time with on the ice when his dad was busy. He truly built a great bond with him and he was so distraught that he had to take the year off from hockey when he was 11 because he couldn’t handle playing under a different coach when the only one he knew was gone. His father understood, and let him stop playing on the ice but he stressed the importance of staying in shape for next season. So to substitute he learned how to ski and gained even more endurance making his skill set one that was truly special. When he was 12 he made his full return to hockey and little did anyone know, he was about to have a season that is just improbable! His first game, was an emotional one. He worried about having a horrendous game, allowing goals on every shot, his mother who was always the one to drive him to games told him that it would all be ok. His mother's calming words must’ve been like magic to him, because he didn’t allow a goal on 22 shots, even though his defense was sloppy and allowed 5 breakaways to get through he stood strong. His efforts led them to a 3-0 win in the first game and built up his confidence for the rest of the year. For the rest of the season he finished with a .952 SV% and 1.23 GAA, posting 8 shutouts. At this point the outlook on his future looked extremely promising, with European clubs already sending scouts for their junior teams. Durgen continued playing well never allowing over 3 goals a game for 3 straight seasons until he was 15, when he messed up his knee and had to sit out a considerable amount of time. The buzz really wore off during this time leading him to think that his future had just collapsed.

    High School
By the time he was 16 he had made yet another return to hockey, playing for his high school and AAA hockey. His time was completely consumed causing his grades to fall but despite this he managed to play very well in both situations. For his AAA team he managed another spectacular season with a .942 SV% and a 1.56 GAA, and in high school playing even better with a .961 SV% and a 1.31 GAA. He was becoming a household name in Denmark, and received attention from Esbjerg Energy a Danish professional team who offered him to play with their U-18 squad. Posing him with a difficult decision, should he take the risk and pursue hockey professionally and this was the first time he thought to himself “Could I make it to the VHL?” at this point he was only thinking of playing in Europe never even considering going to North America but this was becoming a reality. The other option was a bit safer, going to college, graduating and finding a job. The former seemed much more exciting to him but he always thought “what if it doesn’t work out?”. His father always assured him that, both he and his mother would support him no matter what.

    Pro Hockey Beginnings
That summer Hinga made the bold decision of signing with the Esbjerg Energy at age 17 as a starting goalie. He played tremendously well going against the likes of Rasmus Dahlin and other VHL-bound prospects. He put up a .920 SV% and a 1.72 GAA suddenly gaining the attention of the GM, Gooningitup of the Saskatoon Wild. He called Hinga in Copenhagen and offered him a contract to come play goalie for them. Hinga got on one knee and began crying, thanking God for allowing him to make it through all his hardships. Hinga said goodbye to his parents a few days later, who were filled with joy and pride that their son made it this far, as Hinga flew off to Saskatoon to hopefully become a legend in the VHLM and an inspiration for those in Denmark.
