SlapshotLegion replied to Enorama's topic in Player Press Conferences
1) What do you enjoy most about the VHLM? 2) Any current VHLM players you look up to? 3) What are your goals this season? 4) When you are eligible for the VHL, which team do you wanna go to? 5) Thoughts on your GM? -
Las Vegas-Ryuu Crimson and Dylan Nguyen of the Saskatoon Wild were arrested. According to the story, Defensemen, Dylan Nyugen, Left Winger, Ryuu Crimson and goaltender Alex Pepper (of your Las Vegas Aces) were out celebrating the Victory Hockey League and the Victory Hockey League Minors Drafts, when all of a sudden, two police showed up. Ryuu and Alex were out so Dylan was alone. The police asked if he had been drinking, which Dylan replied with a yes. Unlike Canada, where the drinking age limit is 18 or 19+, in America it is 21+. So Dylan was arrested for possession of alcohol. Then Ryuu Crimson was also arrested for the same reason. Alex Pepper was not caught due to being their designated driver plus not being at the scene at the time. "I know that in Saskatoon they were told I wasn't charged. It was true at the time, but then they looked at surveillance and arrested me as I drove to the station. Dylan and Ryuu Crimson were brought to the police station, until they were bailed out by Alex Pepper. Then Dylan and Ryuu were brought to the court, to which both had to pay 2000 dollars as a fine. Dylan started a PAC (political action committee). "Well it was pretty much a bunch of bulls**t. I was out with my friends having a good time, ya know. I might have had a few drinks , but we were not bothering anyone. Anyway Alex and Ryuu go off to get something and leave me for like a minute and all the sudden this cop comes up to me and is like ‘have you been drinking?’. I just said yep, and all the sudden he asks for my ID, next thing you know I’m being put in a cop car. Luckily about 20 mins later Pepper and Ryuu come strolling in and bail me out. Anyway like tw o days later the judge orders me to pay like a $2,000 fine. I paid and I left. It’s all good now. Like I said before just a bunc h o f BS. America’s drinking laws are trash and cops are egotistical dicks, that pretty much sums up the incident. Next time, I ’ m inviting Alex to co me party in Canada, at least until i’ m 21 .” Dylan said about the incident. Ryuu Crimson said this, "America and their weird laws. Man, we are more peaceful and more careful when it comes to alcohol, despite the fact the lowest drinking age is 18. Like jeez, making the age higher ain't doing sh**. This situation and topic is like how they allow guns but kinder eggs are banned. Okay. Sure. They need licences and maybe there's an age limit but like, the Kinder Eggs should only be banned for children like, come on, not the whole nation. I'm sure anyone in their teens could eat the eggs and be completely safe. This whole ordeal is just dumb." Ryuu Crimson was also accused of shoplifting but this was found to be false.

Hey guys, I am making some goal horns for the VHL. This is for the VHL GMs but it's fine if you wanna check em out. Rules: First come, first serve. First one to claim ownership of a goal horn gets the goal horn. 2. TPE Bribes are accepted. So far I have only made 2, but I will try making more. this is just for fun so dont rage. I had to put in pictures or else the goal horns wouldnt function properly in the file but whatevs. so don't mind the oslo logo, they do not own them. I will make a discord channel where you can view and listen to them cause the forum is being dumb https://discord.gg/qCgGUn2 All claims are open @Beaviss @Spade18 @hedgehog337

D - Fabio Jokinen Birthplace: Finland Height: 6/3" Weight: 200 lbs. Jersey Number: 3 Drafted: S52 GM Frank (Quebec Meute) Username: @jRuutu If you guys admire Bobby Orr, then you will like Jokinen. Fabio Jokinen is known to be one of the most offensive defensemen in the game, and one of the best defensemen in the history of the Victory Hockey League. He was a dedicated player and will always be remembered by the Victory Hockey League. Spending 6 seasons in Quebec, he always had 16+ goals, impressive for a defensemen. He was also known for his defensive ability, winning the Inagural Jake Wylde Trophy. Then he spent his last two seasons in Toronto and Seattle respectively. Surprising he only won one Continental Cup, considering his hard work and his scoring records. Career Awards: S54-S57 Devon Marlow-Marta Trophies - Finals Team 1 S56 Sterling Labatte Trophy - Top Offensive Defensemen S56 Continental Cup - Playoff Champions S58 Sterling Labatte Trophy - Top Offensive Defensemen S58 Terrence Fong Trophy - Finals Team 2 S59 Jake Wylde Trophy - Top Defensive Defensemen Season 52 Statistics: Regular Season: S52 (QUE) | 20G - 34A - 54P | -30 | 171SHT | 1GWG | 64PIM | 141HIT | 149SB In the Victory Hockey League Draft, he was the 3rd overall pick and showed that he lived up to that honor. In Fabio Jokinen's rookie season, he scored 20 Goals, really impressive for a defensemen, and a rookie. He had a total of 54 Points and he his plus-minus was -30. Surprising really. If you were watching the VHL back then, you knew he was going to be a big star in the VHL. The Jokinen name is known all over hockey, and it looked like he was gonna be the next big Jokinen. Also keep in mind, unlike other offensive defensemen, he didn't have much shots. This would end up being the only season he didn't make the playoffs. Season 53 Statistics: Regular Season: S53 (QUE) | 20G - 50A - 70P | -11 | 243SHT | 4GWG | 64PIM | 196HIT | 208SB Playoffs: S53 (QUE) | 2G - 1A - 3P | -2 | 16SHT | 0GWG | 8PIM | 13HIT | 15SB Fabio Jokinen impressed the Victory Hockey League world, coming into his second season, by getting 20 goals, the same amount as last season with no growth in goals. But he grew in assists with 50 assists. He got more shots than last year. His plus-minus stayed in the negatives but went up considerably. He also improved in hits. He also got his first experience in the playoffs, getting 2 goals, 1 assist, which is 3 points. This would also be the first and only year he would reach 200 Shots Blocked. Season 54 Statistics: Regular Season: 54 (QUE) | 16G - 66A - 82P | 70 | 327SHT | 5GWG | 188PIM | 209HIT | 113SB Playoffs: 54 (QUE) | 1G - 7A - 8P | 5 | 44SHT | 0GWG | 32PIM | 42HIT | 21SB This season, Fabio Jokinen had his career low 16 goals in the regular season. But he had his second highest assist count of his career. He also went into his second playoff run, still with no Game Winning Goals in the playoffs. Fabio and the Meute would win the Devon Marlow-Marta, which they would win 3 times after that. This season he had a career record of playoff hits, but nobody pays attention to that. Despite their loss, the Meute were just getting started. Season 55 Statistics: Regular Season: S55 (QUE) | 18G - 63A - 81P | 52 | 147SHT | 3GWG | 147PIM | 182HIT | 83SB Playoffs: S55 (QUE) | 3G - 10A - 13P | 7 | 29SHT | 0GWG | 9PIM | 15HIT | 35SB This season, Fabio Jokinen got career lows in Shots Blocked. More important news, he had career highs in Playoff Blocked Shots. Him and the Meute went on to win their second Marlow-Marta. They would go to the Finals only to end up being defeated the second time by Helsinki Titans in the finals. You had to wonder when they would finally win the cup. Season 56 Statistics: Regular Season: S56 (QUE) | 24G - 82A - 105P | 71 | 272SHT | 8GWG | 138PIM | 120HIT | 119SB Playoffs: S56 (QUE) | 3G - 7A - 10P | 1 | 37SHT | 0GWG | 27PIM | 42HIT | 27SB Fabio Jokinen's dream came true this season. He ended the regular season with a career high with a regular season plus-minus of 71. He also ended with career highs in regular season assists. But that wasn't all he did. Him and the Meute made it to the playoffs. He tied his career high of playoff goals, which he set the season before. But none of that compared to what happened next. After 2 painful years of failing at the last step, he finally did it. The Quebec City Meute were the champions. Not the Marlow-Marta champions. The Continental Cup Champions. He would get a Sterling Labatte, his first individual award, which he would win again in Season 58. Season 57 Statistics: Regular Season: S57 (QUE) | 17G - 57A - 74P | 54 | 191SHT | 5GWG | 101PIM | 144HIT | 127SB Playoffs: S57 (QUE) | 3G - 7A - 10P | -5 | 33SHT | 1GWG | 12PIM | 37HIT | 13SB Fabio Jokinen and the Meute would have an awesome last season together. Fabio Jokinen would get a lot this last season, he would win his last Marlow-Marta, and would make his last ever appearance in a Victory Hockey League Final with the Meute. The Meute would lose to the Riga Reign. Jokinen tied his career high for playoff goals again. Jokinen will always be remembered as a Meute. Season 58 Statistics: Regular Season: S58 (SEA) | 18G - 65A - 83P | 45 | 277SHT | 9GWG | 6PIM | 145HIT | 153SB Playoffs: S58 (SEA) | 1G - 13A - 14P | 1 | 31SHT | 0GWG | 8PIM | 28HIT | 26SB Welcome to America, Fabio! This season Fabio Jokinen would join his first ever American VHL Team. After 6 awesome seasons with Meute, he came to Seattle to play with the Bears. They would make the playoffs, where he got a career record of 13 playoff assists. They would win the Terrence Fong Trophy, the only time Fabio would win it. They would sadly lose in his last performance in the Finals, to the same team that had beat him to it, the Riga. It wasn't too bad though, as he won his last Sterling Labatte. Season 59 Statistics: Regular Season: S59 (TOR) | 18G - 72A - 90P | 53 | 263SHT | 5GWG | 122PIM | 217HIT | 156SB Playoffs: S59 (TOR) | 1G - 3A - 4P | -1 | 21SHT | 0GWG | 24PIM | 15HIT | 7SB Welcome back to Canada! Fabio Jokinen would play his last season with the Toronto Legion. Jokinen would have a career low of 7 Blocked Shots in the playoffs, and a career low for PPG. This season he would make the playoffs but not make the finals. Despite the lows and the failures in the playoffs, he had a good last season, a surprising one considering his age. Career Totals: Regular Season: | 151G - 489A - 640P | 304 | 2019SHT | 40GWG | 925PIM | 1359HIT | 1108SB Playoffs: | 14G - 48A - 62P | 6 | 211SHT | 1GWG | 110PIM | 186HIT | 147SB To sum it up, Fobio Jokinen is arguably one of the best defensemen in general, defensively and offensively. He is definitely the best Meute defensemen of all time and one of the best in the Victory Hockey League. He is definitely the perfect example of a two-way defensemen. Every aspiring defensemen should look up to him. If you don't think 1108 Blocked Shots and 151 Goals in 8 seasons is impressive for a defensemen, you're either Bobby Orr, or very very drunk.

Chance Matthews Biography [1/2]
SlapshotLegion replied to DaftRaincloud's topic in Archived Career Tasks
Review: Okay, the story is really good. The whole family problem and affair thing really surprised me. Stereotypically the male usually cheats but the female did it which made it a bit more interesting. Also, invite Ryuu to the wedding, remind him of the thing he will never have! I wouldn't be surprised if this was your story or if this was a real life story because the pieces fit together and make so much sense. Again, wonderful. -
Claimed: Edwin Preencarnacion Biography [2/2]
SlapshotLegion replied to Tagger's topic in Archived Career Tasks
Review: A baseball player as a hockey player? Genius! This is a great biography, (as expected from the king of Nacions) and the naming is very mysterious. I'm surprised nobody else has wondered why the names are so similar. Maybe Encarnacion cloned his younger self over and over again. Who knows? A really good story and the transition to hockey was a really good idea! Maybe explain more about why he chose hockey instead of Basketball or something else. (I know that hockey players are typically also good at baseball and vice versa but still, explain a bit more) -
This was a really good biography! This was the most fun to read and quite the peculiar story. To one day not know how to even skate to joining the Victory Hockey League, I loved it! The whole Godfather thing was really interesting and cool too.

Review: The stat sheet was a really good touch up to the Biography and it was a really realistic and very interesting to see. The comments at the beginning made it like a real biography, (for example, Killer by Doug Gilmour) and the visuals were great. The stats at the beginning were a nice touch as well. It would have been better if it incorporated more of his life, because at the beginning it starts off as a biography but as it progresses it suddenly feels like a full on scouting report, not a biography. That's completely fine, but just add a bit more about his life.
