Just gotta point out what a good all-rounded player Kozlov is. Scores a goal, gets 3 shots, 4 hits and has a very good night on faceoffs, going 9 for 15. That's pretty blessed.
-
Noticed that Anthony Matthews is really leading the team as the 2C. And he doesn't even need HHH's help.
-
Nice big juicy win in classic 21st style. And holy fuck Freeman is good.
-
Edger Tannahill lit it up. 7 shots, 2 goals, assist, 3 hits yet he only played 18 mins. That's unreal!
-
Wow Hunter Wagner got 7 shots and didn't get any results. That's unlucky..
-
Fuck, and with that defeat, they overtake us.
-
Wow, Frostbeard, Beaviss and Morozov has been a big line this season.

Minnesota has been on fire!

WEDNESDAY - The all-time leader in Halifax points, Nathan MacKinnon got in contact with Aran Thranduil, the assistant general manager of his old team after spending over half of a season at defending NCAA state champion Regis University in Denver, Colorado, with whom he committed to, after spending 3 seasons in the VHLM with Halifax and failing to make Helsinki's roster for S65. MacKinnon told Thranduil that he had been having a hard time fitting in in Denver and had an interest in making a return to the VHLM for the remaining 20 games of the season. This was great news for Halifax, who, while trying to maintain the VHLM's top spot, have struggled lately. Halifax GM Anthony Rogers took one day to negotiate a new deal with the long-time VHLM star while MacKinnon booked a flight back to Halifax. THURSDAY - MacKinnon signed off on the deal, first thing in the morning and called Rogers and Thranduil to let them know. Halifax management through an overnight party with team owner Shawn Glade and captain Dimitri Volosenkov that started at 3:00 PM and lasted until 11:30 AM the next day. "We are obviously very excited to have a player of his caliber and experience join the team once again," said an excited Anthony Rogers, through a very thick French accent, "It isn't every day that you see your franchise points leader return from college and I think he has potential to add a lot of depth to our squad and carry us to the finals once again. This season is huge for us and we need as much help as we can get if we hope to pull off another good cup run." After putting up 46 points in S62 as a rookie with the new expansion team, Halifax 21st, MacKinnon came back the following season as the 1C for the team. That season, he led a weakened Halifax roster to an unexpected third place finish, coming off the season with 114 points, good for second in the league. Halifax ultimately fell short in a seven game semi-finals, but MacKinnon and the rest of the S63 team put forward a good effort. In S64, MacKinnon didn't have as much pressure to perform with Halifax being very deep and played on the third line, mentoring newer players along. Even with limited minutes, playing in the shadows of big stars such as Diljodh Starload, John Madden, Hunter Hearst Helsley, Bolt Vanderhuge, Elasmobranch Fish and Shane Mars, MacKinnon still managed to put up almost 90 points, fourth on the team, whilst helping Halifax cruise to a second place finish. The team beat Ottawa in 6 games, advancing to the finals, where after losing the first 3 games, they almost mounted a comeback, winning the next 2, but ultimately Las Vegas prevailed and so the stacked team from Halifax was exasperated. The top 3 scorers, Starload, Vanderhuge and Madden as well as Fish and Bald Guy headed to the VHL, while Shane Mars, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Matteo and Viktor Kozlov were all sent away via dispersal draft, but perhaps the two most notable departures were those of Nathan MacKinnon and Nikita Flipachyev. Flipachyev held the team record for career goals scored with Halifax and MacKinnon for career points, assists and virtually every other major category. Both had spent 3 seasons with the team, amassing over 200 points each and it was sad for the staff and players to see them leave for college. Little did GM Anthony Rogers and AGM Aran Thranduil know at the time, but this would not be the last time they saw their star forward. SATURDAY - MacKinnon will make his season debut for Halifax tonight, starting on the third line with Blake Gaudette and Nacho. Fans are excited to see how their old poster-boy will mesh with the new-age lineup that Halifax has assembled. One thing is for certain. Halifax's lineup looks a lot stronger with MacKinnon on it and their cup hopes are about as real as ever. As the 21st make their way through the last leg of the season, MacKinnon can't wait to start making an impact for his team again. (694 Words)

@Beketov @Will My player is not included as a rookie, because there was a mishap last season and I ended up on Davos' roster for 3 games but I was not actually put on a line. I spent last season in the VHLM and I'm pretty sure I should be counted as a rookie on the portal.

Hai Chase, you're killing it this year. Don't forget welfare this week. If Scead does more point tasks, we could probably bring him back to the team, but it looked as if he was inactive.

@Chase Klein they didn't tag you, but you're playing for the great white north in world juniors. Congrats! Go make me and the rest of your Halifax teammates proud!

Well not a lot more flexibility, but there wouldn't be as much pressure to get the updates done. If someone sent in their updates and had to leave the next day, they don't have to worry about updaters approving before they can apply TPE, meaning updaters have to worry less as well, as long as they get most of them done by Saturday, when the league file is updated. As I say, it isn't a lot more flexibility, but it's some for both sides. Whether or not the league views this as a worthwhile way to spend their time is up to them, but I like the idea of not having to return to the site just to apply your TPE. This may be going to far, but another idea is to have the cutoff for claiming TPE for that week at the same time as the league file is updated. I've seen this used in SBA and it works well. You type in your updates, apply your TPE, and then on Saturday, the updates are approved, meaning your TPE is set and stone and then the league file is updated. This would be a major change to the updating system and a lot of work to implement, but the league must change to improve.
-
Yes, as it would provide more flexibility for both the updaters and the players.

New Questions for week of Mar 25-31. Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE or 6 Questions for 2 TPE. Enjoy! 1. Which aspect of your game needs the most improvement right now? 2. Which team has been the toughest to play against this season? 3. Which team has been the easiest to play against this season? 4. Are you satisfied with your performance this season, so far? 5. Is there anyone that you look up to as a role-model, leader or mentor on the time this season? How do they inspire you to play your game? 6. Where do you see yourself 3 seasons from now?
-
@Beketov can we claim for this immediately or will a separate reward thread be put up at the end of the week?
-
I think the VHL could add a mechanic to the portal similar to the one on the SBA Online sight (Equivalent of the VHL Portal). On SBA Online, you can enter your updates and apply TPE as soon as you have entered the amount of TPE you are claiming. For example, if I did a graphic, I would then claim the six TPE and instantly apply it. This way, members do not have to wait for updaters before they can apply TPE. They can just apply it once and then take it off their mind for the rest of the week, rather than having to come back a second time after your updates have been approved. Of course, the TPE won't officially be applied to the player until the updaters approve it, but it will be pre-assigned so that there is a better chance of the players' attribute changes making it into the league file in time. I know often, I get my updates in late Friday night and then go to sleep. They may be approved as early as an hour later, but when the league file is updated the next day, I will not have had time to update my player's attributes with the TPE that I have just earned. It would be much simpler if we could do it all as one process. This is a common feature which I have seen used in every league I have been in, aside from VHL, including SHL, NSHL and SBA. I think it would be a beneficial step in the right direction if the VHL followed suit. (268 Words)
