  1. It's no secret that John Madden has had a rough rookie season. It's been nothing but disappointing in his eyes, right from the beginning. Madden is in the top 20 in league shots, above the likes of The Charm, Diljodh Starload, Mark Gebauer and Julian Borwinn, all of whom, have scored 20+ goals this season, however all Madden has to show for his constant attempts at scoring are a mere 9 goals. Not only that, but Madden also gets more ice-time than most other players, spending a daily average of 28:40 on the ice, almost half a game. The fact is, Madden has all the time he needs to score goals, yet he fails to do so. Part of the fault could go to his line-mates, two inexperienced rookies, both of whom have less than 15 points this season and are also struggling to find their game, but if this is the case, it is clear that Davos' lines need to be mixed up. Madden's +/- this season is another big eyesore. Through 37 games played, the young forward has posted an abysmal -24 rating, second worst on the team. This is major cause for concern as Madden has never been on the minus side of the spectrum before in his career. One of the things he is known for priding himself in is his +/- rating but it has clearly taken a turn for the worst this season. While it may be somewhat of a factor, it isn't only because he plays on Davos that his +/- suffers so much, as Rylan Peace, Elias Dahlberg and Pat Svoboda all have +4 or higher, which makes it clear that playing for Davos doesn't guarantee you a low +/-. Seeing Madden out of character struggles ensue, coaches and trainers have done their best to get him to find his game again, often giving him power-play time with the other Davos stars. Nothing seems to be working and it is becoming a downwards spiral for Madden, so much so, that Madden just finished a stretch where he only had 1 point in 12 games. The lack of production is concerning for Shawn Glade, GM of the HC Davos Dynamo, who picked Madden back in the S64 VHL Entry Draft. Other players drafted after Madden have had much better starts to their careers. The 7th overall pick, Diljodh Starload leads his team in goals with 21, while the 8th overall pick, Kyson Blake is 21st in league points with 42. Both of these players are rookies who played with and against Madden in the VHLM, the previous two seasons and scored less points overall than he did. It just seems like Madden is having a harder time transitioning to the faster paced VHL than most of his peers are. Another thing to note is that, although Madden has played on the power-play for the majority of the season, he has managed only 3 power-play points thus far. Experts are generally confused as to why the rookie is having such a hard time adjusting to the league and will likely continue to be stumped until he picks his game up. The rookie curse does seem to be an entity in Davos among some of their more notable players. Both Dahlberg and Svoboda had down seasons before they found their groove and started chipping in, so Madden can only hope that this lack of productivity only sticks around for one season, before he's ready to really kick off his VHL career.
  2. At this moment Codrick Past and Podrick Cast have exactly the same amount of points. 51 each. However, Cast has played 37 games and Past has played 36. Thus, Codrick Past is the superior player. A big congrats to @Kylrad for getting the W in style on this one.
  3. New Questions for week of Mar 18-24. Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE or 6 Questions for 2 TPE. Enjoy! 1. Who has been the most underrated player on the team this season in your opinion and what do they do that makes them underrated? 2. Do you have any rivals on Halifax or on opposing teams? Who are they? 3. What are your thoughts on the trade that Halifax made recently to bring in Jet Jaguar and Edward Vigneault from the Philidelphia Reapers? 4a. (For S66 Players) Which VHL team do you most want to play for? 4b. (For S64-S65 Players) How do you think you will fit your VHL team's roster and locker-room. Are you happy with the team that has your rights? 5. Is Halifax in a position to contend next season? As of right now we only hold a first 3rd rounder and a 6th rounder, and we may see Blake Gaudette return for a second season and our starting goalie, Chase, for a third. 6. If you were to compare your game to any NHL player, in terms of simularity, who would it be?
  4. Nice article man, just gotta point out that there is no rookie award in the VHLM because half of the players are in their first season and even if there was, you have already played a season in the 'M, as have HHH and Lynch, so none of you would be eligible. Other than that though, great article, gonna be awesome to see Wolfe start to hit his prime soon. Amazing potential.
  5. Halifax can offer 3rd line minutes on a contending squad so long as you agree to stay active and earn TPE. We have an active Discord locker-room with plenty of players and alumni who can offer help. I am willing to help with any questions you have about how to earn TPE or the site as a whole. Hopefully you consider us. The contract would be for one season at $1,500,000. To accept this contract, quote the post and say accepted.
  6. 170 New York Americans @ Calgary Wranglers 171 Moscow Menace @ Seattle Bears 172 Riga Reign @ Vancouver Wolves 173 HC Davos Dynamo @ Helsinki Titans
  7. Calgary Wranglers. Lol I guess they're just that irrelevant that you forgot they existed.
  8. oof, that is Madden's a bitch
  9. Not a lot to say here, but I think you should pick one Canadian team and one American team to keep it balanced, and then break the league into the Canadian Conference and the American Conference. Would be more fun with conferences and teams could build rivalries against fellow country teams.
  10. Davos' season is off to a rough start so I thought it fitting that the mood be very sad if the team were to have a banner or something.
  11. New Questions for week of Mar 11-17. Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE or 6 Questions for 2 TPE. Enjoy! 1. Now that some of you have had a chance to settle in, how are you liking the league as a whole so far? Are there any suggestions you have? 2. Do you have any suggestions for either McWolf or I as GMs? Is there a way we could make you feel more welcome? 3. Which VHLM team has the best conbination of name, location and logo? (Don't say Halifax, you won't be fooling anyone) 4. Which VHL team has the best combination of name, location and logo? 5. Which VHL team is going to win the Continental Cup? 6. Will we continue being as good as we have been for the whole season?
  12. @Nacci25 Done! I have a higher res version if you want too, but this one is low res because it makes a nice size for a sig.
  13. Chase is #1
  14. 4-1 for Riga
  15. Well written bio. I like the fact that you have Cody as a multitalented player who could have had a career in football but fell back on hockey instead. Makes him a much more interested character to read about. The grammar in this biography was very good and you told and explained the story well, without anything out of place or random. The only thing I noticed, and this comes from just lack of knowledge rather than poor writing, is that you said Cody signed in the VHL. Currently, he is playing in the VHLM which is like the VHL's junior league. You'll be drafted to the VHL at the end of the season. Other than that minor error though, I would give this biography an 8.5/10. Nicely done!
  16. I thought this was very well written and I really liked how you didn't just make Odinsson out to be a naturally gifted hockey player like everyone else does. He actually had to put in some work and wasn't always the best player on his team. Those kind of bios are more readable, realistic and relatable. I liked how you tied a former VHL star into the story as Vaydar's dad and how you didn't ignore the existence of the NHL, but included into the story in the form of Odinsson having to choose between the two leagues. Overall, very solid bio, and my only suggestion would've been to focus more on Vaydar's life and less on his strengths and weaknesses.
  17. New Questions for week of Mar 4-10. Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE or 6 Questions for 2 TPE. Enjoy! 1. How has your start to the season gone for you. Were you expecting more, maybe a little less, or are you playing how you thought you would? 2. Why do you think the team has had such an excellent start to the season? 3. Over a 72 game schedule, how many wins do you think Halifax will finish with? 4. Which parts of your game have you been excelling at the most this season and which parts still need some work? 5. Are there any teams that you have especially liked or disliked to play against? Why? 6. What do you think of the name "21st" for a hockey team? Do you understand its historical meaning?
  18. Vancouver Wolves win 4 -2
  19. Moose hits 200 TPE. +10
  20. I think we got a better shot than many people think. Dahlberg - Peace - Svoboda is money. Oh not sure if you saw, but I was pissed man. I put like hundreds of TPE into the transition only to be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY so a welfare player could play. I worked in out with Shawn though and I'll still get to play center for most of the season. Davos memes are great. Since I wasn't actually playing for Davos last season, I found them just as funny as anyone. If we continue doing trash this season though and the memes keep coming, I might start hating them. Very happy when I heard the news. Malenko stepped into our LR and instantly made his presence known until he was traded. He is probably the most influential Davos player of all time, and he even played a game. Ya its just casually like 2:50 AM right now. I guess most people sleep at night. Find that weird. I love em all. McWolf and all my Halifax bros are amazing, but I think I know Shawn the best, as well as the longest. No... u? No one wants to play against that kid. I've played with him for 1.5 seasons and played with him as a kid, never played against him but I don't really want to. He would dump me on my head easily. If you're referring the world cup one, I think its really stupid. I spent like an hour posting comments on every game to get in the lotto and then after I was done, someone told me there was a resim coming. Listen, I applied for a head job in S63. Didn't get it. I was then hired as an AGM. After that, I applied for Brand Exec and WJC GM both in S63. Got neither job. Near the end of S63, I quit my job with Oslo, only to be told that Trifecta had plans to give me the team the next month. Became the Halifax AGM. In S64, I applied for WJC GM again, didn't get the job. At the end of the season, I made it very clear that I wanted an expansion team. Didn't get one. I then applied for WC GM and Brand Executive again and I actually got the brand exec job. So after like 8 attempts, I've finally landed a GM role, even though its of a brand, so at the pace I'm going it could take years before I get a real job. One day though.
  21. @Plate Finally done lol.
