Eh to be fair that was only @Victor ? If the time were to come, I would be open to a new team assuming the logo and such could be organized. Always good to change things up, and just generally I'm not really a huge fan of the idea of a franchise shuttering and then popping back up in the exact same spot down the road...just from a 'lore' perspective, if nothing else.

There'd be no exception for active players, that part of the rules is meant to discourage just that.

@Beketov, assuming that was you, did I forget to post games last night? I had no idea haha!

Should grant him 24h furlough to see this!

I'm compelled to leave them since it was admittedly my fault for not thinking to build it into the Portal, and that the rules were kind of unclear/not communicated well. Plus it's a small amount of TPA that they're over (3 and 11 for Crimson and Revchenko, respectively). But I'm going to chat with the VHLM Commissioner's and see what they want to do, I just wanted to get the restriction built into the Portal first.

Hello VHLM, Some of you may not be aware but currently there is a limit of 175 TPA for a VHLM players. In other words, once you earn 175 TPE and apply it to your player, all TPE earned is supposed to be Banked up until you move into the VHL, at which point you can apply all the TPE you've been banking. But we're going to up that limit to 200 TPA. These restrictions are in place to ensure players don't overly dominate the VHLM where it is supposed to be a relaxed, developmental league. As well, there is currently a restriction in place that players with carryover must Bank any amount of carryover greater than 30 until they reach the VHL. We've decided that this causes unnecessary hassle for something relatively insignificant and that we will go back to the old way, where a player can apply their carryover as soon as they create. Note, however, that carryover WILL count towards the TPA limits described below. Players who currently have their carryover deferred on the Portal have had it added to their Banked TPE. Please see the existing rules here (which by the way are written in kind of a confusing way): The new rules, which are effective immediately, are as follows: Players with VHLM rights must have less than 200 TPE total at the VHLM TPE-Cutoff date (marked on the off-season schedule each season) to be eligible for play in the VHLM. Players over 200 TPE at or before this cut-off will not be eligible to play in the VHLM whatsoever. A player playing in the VHLM can apply a maximum of 200 TPE to their player. In other words, if you are under 200 TPE prior to the season starting, choose to continue playing in the VHLM and then surpass 200 TPE during the season, all TPE over 200 must be Banked. TPE can still be earned with no restrictions, it just has to be banked until you exit the VHLM. The TPE restriction for the VHLM TPE-Cutoff date includes banked TPE, unclaimed TPE, and there may be punishment for circumventing the rules at the discretion of the VHLM Commissioner's. A player whose VHLM rights have expired is only eligible to be signed by a VHLM Team if he is under 150 TPE. Any player who is called up by a VHL Team will not be allowed to be sent back down if they exceed the 200 TPA limit. Points will not be removed from players attributes in order to accommodate for this. Finally, the VHL Portal will now enforce the TPA restrictions. If you have over 200 TPA, you will still be able to claim your updates and even mess with the rating-update tool to plan your build going forward, but you will not be able to save your ratings until you exit the VHLM.

I don't see any reason for that. It looks like you clearly have the interest and the staff to make it work. I'm happy to give it the go ahead, we'll just need to get a new VHLM Mag group and private forum set up again for the new team and in the meantime you guys can finalize the staff list.

I prefer the older way of VHFL as well. It'd be cool if both things could be portal-ized at some point, especially trivia since someone whould obviously still have to enter the questions so no jobs lost. Though in VHFL's case, if we stuck with the drafting format, rosters would have to manually entered by one person and portal would just be used for 'tracking' because it's definitely not worth it to build something for drafting VHFL.

In that case you will definitely want to check out my bio for my original player!

Yeah there IS a cap of technically 175 TPA (I think) but that's going to be increasing to 200, and the cap will be built into Portal updating soon.

That post was made at a time when the previous VHL simmer, Jardy, had particularly frequent drunken escapades that led to a lot of late or missed sims, sometimes for a few days even when nobody else had access to the simming files. But that was a pretty short period, once I came on as backup simmer we started using dropbox for the sim files and had a pretty good system of me covering him when he was drunk.

Thanks a lot and excellent job! This was really well done for not being around at the time of his career, I have to say.
-
Yeah I had that on my 6s at the end of its tenure, I always did the 'hard reset' holding the home button + power. But then I switched to android with an s9 and I'll never go back!

This is correct, or at least the way i meant in the OP of the HOF article thread. I just used Free Week vs.claiming at as a PT so that people could use the free week whenever they wanted.

He'll be updated next time Higgins loads the file. Was brought to my attention the other day that Lefty had created two players by accident and had been applying all his TPE/updates to the one called Lefty but Weekes was his intended player so I had to transfer everything over to Weekes.
-
Yes VHLM players too, though i'm less worried about any inactives.

Fixed was applying update.

Hi, Some of you may have noticed that on the create-a-player form, instead of typing a birthplace you now select a Country from a dropdown list of all countries. Mainly this was done to a) automate player creation in the sim and b) ensure flags could be shown properly here. Problem is that migrating everyone from a text-field country abbreviation entered by the simmer to the country dropdown was tricky, especially because Higgins is lazy AF and set all the new players to Canada for some reason that is beyond my understanding. And a so lot of newer people are probably set to Canada who shouldn't be. Luckily with the country dropdown versus manual entry, countries/flags can be guaranteed accurate going forward. So, easiest way to get things fixed up is for you to check your own player's flag here, and if it's wrong post here letting me know your player name and what your correct country should be. Thanks!
