  1. Content: 3/3 - A nice look at the goaltenders of the VHL. I don't think it comes as a surprise to anyone that the top ranked goaltenders are also on the top ranked teams. It'll be interesting to see how this list changes over the next couple seasons. Grammar: 2/2 - Pefect! Appearance: 1/1 - Not worth a deduction, but I thought the text was pretty small. Made it somewhat hard to read. Overall: 6/6
  2. Content: 3/3 - A nice look into the current situation in Vasteras. The Iron Eagles look to finally have a young core in place after attempting to make a post season run a couple of seasons ago. Vasteras kind of reminds me of the Flyers in a way. Both teams have a storied past, yet each of them are living off Cups won long ago. Hopefully both teams can pick up their games in the near future. Grammar: 2/2 - Toast had everything covered. Appearance: 1/1 - Solid. Overall: 6/6 FINAL: 6/6
  3. Content: 3/3 - A nice look at the Dynamo's beginning of S35. Obviously we're a little more than eight games into the season right now, but it seems like the Dynamo may have a shot of making the playoffs in the European Conference this year. I'm sure this pressure free year will be utilized by both a young team and a young coach in order to improve their game. Grammar: 2/2 - Nice! Just one typo. to games = two games Appearance: 1/1 - Solid. Overall: 6/6
  4. Overview: 3/3 - It's good to have you back Bushito. A nice introduction into the life of Damon Tyrael. Always like to see the underdog succeed, so hopefully Tyrael has a successful career here. I liked that you added the "favorites" section at the end. I thought it was a nice touch. Grammar: 2/2 - A good amount of mistakes, but just short enough of a list to not warrant a deduction. on weather = on whether Rebels top six = Rebels's top six (x2) twenty five = twenty-five ex-team mates = ex-teammates Victory Hockey League Minor draft = VHLM Dispersal Draft seen weather = seen whether decisions, it = decisions. It Appearance: 1/1 - Solid enough, especially with the new formatting. Pros: 1.75/2 - Over 200 words. Thought the leadership pro was a little weak. More detail needed. Cons: 2/2 - Just over 200 words. Each pro was solid. Overall: 9.75/10
  5. Was Alberts hurt? He had a whopping 0:37 of TOI.
  6. New York has 14 points, which is about how much I'd thought they'd get all season.
  7. Lynx Off to Hot Start It is often said that in order for a team to succeed, players must understand their roles and perform to the best of their ability. So far, this seems to be the case for the Ottawa Lynx. The Lynx are currently off to one of their best starts in recent memory. Winners of ten of their first thirteen games, the Lynx are currently sitting atop the VHLM in points with twenty-one, three more than the second place Minot Gladiators. There are multiple factors that can explain the success of the team so far. However, it can easily be summed up with a simple idea: everyone is doing their job at a high level. After a bit of a slow start, Ottawa’s top line, which consists of center Frederik Ernst and wingers Brennan McQueen and Robert Gow III, has begun to pick up their play. Ernst has had no trouble lately setting up his talented wingers. His nineteen assists lead the Lynx, who are currently second in the league in goals for per game with 4.15, behind only the Turku Outlaws, who have 4.31 goals per game. Captain Brennan McQueen has noted that an increase in chemistry has been the driving factor in this increase in production. Members of the Lynx waiting for the season to start. “With the trouble the VHL and VHLM were involved in that resulted in a delay to the start of the season, it was hard for me and the rest of the guys to really get anything together. Neither of those guys were with the team last year, and I was used to playing as an individual and attempting to carry the team last year. This year, there are a plethora of talented guys on the team. I can trust them to be in the right place and at the right time. The three of us make a great line. I've got some hands and am great along the boards, Ernst has incredible vision, and RGIII has the potential to be an elite goal scorer at this level.” While offense may get the ladies, defense wins championships. While the Lynx as a whole have done a great job defensively, they are led by one of the premiere defensive prospects in the league, Connor Low. Low, who is currently one of the league leaders in minutes per game, points for a defenseman, and shots blocked, has made sure the entire team has bought into the defensive side of the game. After an early season practice with some rather inept defensive play from the forwards, Low called a players only meeting and ripped into the forwards in general for their poor play in the defensive zone. Goaltender Mike Szatkowski Jr. was also rather displeased, noting, “these guys are leaving me out to dry like I was just a wet sponge or something.” The depth of the Lynx has also done a great job with secondary scoring. When the first line was off the a slow start, the second line, consisting of center Robin Gow and wingers Chop Cho and Petr Janus. Robin, who currently leads the team in points with twenty-two, has carried this line offensively. While Chop Cho is a solid player, Petr Janus is not really someone you want on a scoring line. However, the addition of Jeevan Samuelsson should rectify this situation. Acquired from the Yukon Rush, Samuelsson not only provides more of a scoring presence on the second line, but is also adapt defensively. In the meantime, offensive defenseman Matt Rielly has done a great job providing offense from the back end. The free agent acquired during the S35 off-season currently leads the team with eleven goals. While the Lynx are off to a hot start, they realize that much of the season still remains. They know better than anyone else that anything can happen with so many games left. However, with their hard work and dedication, it seems clear that this Lynx team has a chance to go all the way this year.
  8. I hope not just so I don't have to hear about the JVR-L.Schenn trade over and over again and more jokes about how we trade players away only to win a cup elsewhere.
  9. Content: 3/3 - A nice recap to the start of Davey Jones's career with the Cologne Express. If it all goes to plan, Jones should solidify the 2C spot behind Kameron Taylor and should be a pretty good 1-2 combo. Wish the Express the best! Grammar: 2/2 - Nice! As Toast said, just the number thing. Appearance: .75/1 - Odd spacing at beginning, just a picture and no color. Overall: 5.75/6 FINAL: 6/6
  10. This. Waiting to see what the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales are.
  11. Content: 3/3 - Oh boy, Eldred. As his GM in the VHLM, I got to experience some of his temper as well. Everything was pretty much fine and dandy until I claimed Dabs Ondabs. I don't remember what set the two of them off, but once Dabs became a member of that "Sterling" thing, the two started going at it pretty good in the locker room. At that point, Eldred PMed me and said that he wouldn't play for Ottawa anymore if Dabs was still on the team, so I either had to trade him or trade Dabs. Ottawa was a bad team at the time, so I was thinking of trading Eldred anyway, but this was all the confirmation I needed to know I was making the right choice. At this time, he was shipped off to Minot, where I think he only posted in the locker room once or twice. Back on topic, I thought it was a great media spot Kendrick. While we all knew Eldred a little bit, you obviously knew him the most on the site and were able to give us a better insight into his character. While it's never really a good thing to lose members, I think I can say quite confidently that he won't be missed. Grammar: 2/2 - I only noticed one. Good job. because I don't alcohol. = because I don't drink alcohol. Appearance: 1/1 - Very nice. Overall: 6/6 FINAL: 6/6
  12. Content: 3/3 - It's not too often that we get to hear about the men behind the bench in the VHL, but in this case, it made for a great read. Fong gets to continue on his career in hockey, while the Dynamo pick up a fan favorite, which should get some excitement back in Davos. Grammar: 2/2 - Just a couple more. Daisuke, his = Daisuke. His opponents, the Seattle Bears in = opponents, the Seattle Bears, in European conference = European Conference Appearance: 1/1 - Solid. Side note, but I really love the formatting on the new website. It is so much easier and everything just looks better. Overall: 6/6 FINAL: 6/6
  13. To OTT: RW - Jeevan Samuelsson To YUK: RW - Anderson Pooper S36 OTT 2nd Accepted. Hard to add Brooks to this trade, but it had to be done.
  14. Content: 3/3 - Thought this was a pretty entertaining read. At least this bout with amnesia occured during a slow time in the VHLM season! Keep up the good work. Grammar: 2/2 - Awesome. Appearance: 1/1 - Solid. Overall: 6/6 FINAL: 6/6
  15. Effort: 2/2 - Yeah, you put in hard work. Look: 3/3 - Looks very nice. Creativity: 1/1 - Yes. Very Creative. Overall: 6/6 FINAL: 6/6
  16. Any chance we can get the VHLM Draft Pick Tracker over here soon?
  17. Also, if Tim Thomas doesn't hurt himself, the Flyers are 0-8. First team since 1967 to not score 3 goals in a game within a team's first 8 games.
  18. 2 points through 8 games. 2nd worst G/G. More shots block and missing the net than shots on net this season. Giroux is MIA. Just awful. Only positive from this season is Steve Mason, which sounds really weird to say. Without Mason, most of these games aren't even close.
  19. Philadelphia Flyers #CONFIRMED worst team in NHL.
