  1. I've watched some League players play it while they stream. Seems interesting.
  2. After starting off the season with a 5-3 loss to the Bern Royals, the Ottawa Lynx have won 6 of their last 7, netting themselves 12 points and a tie for most points in the VHLM. Leading the way have been offensive defenseman Matt Rielly (9-5-14), center Frederik Ernst (2-12-14), and stud defenseman Connor Low (6-7-14). While captain Brennan McQueen was off to a slow start with only 1 point in his first 4 games, the second year player has picked up his play of late, scoring 5 goals and netting 2 assists in the 4 most recent games. Between the pipes, rookie Mike Szatkowski Jr. has been good enough for the team to succeed. With a .885 save percentage and 3.10 goals against average, Szatkowski Jr. has kept his team in every game. One player off to a somewhat slow start is winger Robert Gow III. With only 4 assists to his name so far, the son of VHL retiree Austin Gow has performed below expectations so far. Known as a sniper, it’s extremely odd that RGIII is the only Ottawa regular without a goal so far.
  3. Sorry to those who applied, but this position is no longer open. I thought we'd be losing 2 GFX graders, but we didn't lose any. Thank you for applying and your interest is noted.
  4. Graders need the ability to lock topics in the appropriate section of the forum.
  5. In breaking news that shocks the world, it's all but official that Pronger won't play again. Feel bad for the guy. Not only was his playing career cut a couple years short, but he's still having trouble day to day with things like bright lights and heights.
  6. That one was on the old site...
  7. If you would have told me you were doing this I could have added some interesting quotes from his time in Ottawa
  8. Looking for another GFX grader. Tell me why I should hire you. Applications are due by 10/16.
  9. I get a 404 error message when I try and download the Client File.
  10. Is the chat going to be made available on some of the other themes?
  11. Ottawa Unveils S35 Roster With the S35 VHLM season set to being in the upcoming days, the Ottawa Lynx have officially released their opening day roster. G – Mike Szatkowski Jr. C – Robin Gow (A) C – Frederik Ernst LW – Chop Cho LW – Petr Janus LW – Dan Jones Jr. RW – Brennan McQueen ( C ) RW – Robert Gow III (A) D – Connor Low D – David Januzaj D – Matt Rielly D – Jacob Peterson GM – Jim Gow Ass. GM – Austin Gow During the off-season, the Lynx added a plethora of talented players at all positions who are all represented by well-respected agents. These players, as well as those who suffered through S34 (most notably star winger Brennan McQueen), are in a position to challenge for the Founder’s Cup, which has been noticeably absent from Ottawa since S23. A proud franchise with six Founder’s Cups to their name, the fans in Ottawa are beginning to get excited with the idea that this team may be the one to finally break the drought. After sending a majority of their draft picks in the next two VHLM Dispersal Drafts away in order to improve the team this year, this is the best chance for the fans of the Ottawa Lynx to rejoice in the glory of a championship, as dark years may be ahead.
  12. Haha. My girlfriend's reaction when I told her about the VHL was "so you write articles about your imaginary players in this imaginary league with these imaginary people you've never met before and you find this fun?"
  13. I think KingIsh is missing as well.
  14. Laviolette gone. Yay. Craig Berube taking over as head coach. Eh. I wish they went with someone outside of the organ-eye-zation, but I know that would be challenging to do during the season. Berube was in charge of our PK for a couple of seasons, and the group was usually in the top third of the league. Also was the last coach of the Phantoms to make the playoffs, which was pretty impressive considering the best player on that team was Steve Downie.
  15. Robin Excited to Start Season Ottawa Lynx center Robin Gow is excited to start the VHLM season. Gow, a S36 VHL draftee and the fourth overall pick of the S35 VHLM Dispersal Draft, figures to be part of an excellent 1-2 duo with recently acquired Frederek Ernst. Both players are currently battling for the right to be the team’s 1C and play with second year winger Brennan McQueen, who figures to be one of the best in the VHLM this season. While Gow may have more of a pedigree than Ernst, Ernst has put in more practice hours and his play style may mesh better with McQueen. Either way, both players will be pushing each other for the top spot. After practice one day, Robin was quoted saying “friendly competition is always a great thing to have on a competitive team. We’re always pushing each other to be the best we can be. Since we know the first line spot isn’t guaranteed for either of us, we’re less likely to get complacent.”
  16. Schenn and Coburn are what they are: defensive defensemen who are never going to really contribute offensively. Grossmann is awesome, but is even worse offensively than the 2 above. Streit and Kimmo are more than adequate puck movers, while Schenn and Coburn are average-ish, depending on the day. Kimmo Timonen was criminally underrated during his first couple years in Philly. Obviously, as he's gotten older, he's slowed down a little bit, but he's still awesome. Meszaros is serviceable as a 5 or 6 when healthy. Problem is, he's never healthy. Guys got a coconut for a brain.
