  1. Recruitment Ideas for VHL With Theme Week being an absolute banger of nothing new, I have decided to provide incredibly valuable insight on "How to Fix Recruitment" and your nice 4 steps how to do it! Firstly, I need to make my position clear - when my good friend @Ahma asked me about Theme Week and potential podcast, we both agreed that there really isn't any good reason to focus on this topic, with my response being: My take - they big people, recruit is big job. Do job. Secondly, who would I really be if I didn't take up this glorious challenge and get you some juicy ideas! Recruitment is this lovely and finicky thing where you have to balance strawberry syrup of expectations with a beautiful handful of uncooked rice called "trust me, this is not NHL24 sim or nothing like that". So for that I have few suggestions. Let us start with the simplest and in my humble opinion, the most important thing - Theme Song. We have existed for far too long as a community without a high quality Theme Song. It has to have synthbass and some lovely synthchorus effects, real violin and cello that is all brought together with traditional drums and a killer electric guitar solo with as much wah and distortion you can get (Basically we need to hire Slash). That said, we would also need to work on lyrics. My idea for that would be to focus on our strongsuits and what everyone will appreciate... Hmm, I actually might have something for you..... Imagine this as a ballad, in the style of "I would do anything for love"..... Whenever you feel down and lonely When time is just a moderate commodity Don't think twice and say it slowly I want to join your cozy community V H L - it is the place where your dreams become reality V H L - it is the space where all of us can lose our sanity V H L - don't think twice V H L - don't look back JOIN US AT VHLFORUM.COM! To be honest, I think I nailed it. So now, all we really need is to contract someone to write that, play it, mix it and master it so in total - will probably be around 4000 dollars, but, hey -wouldn't it be cool? There is also another thing we could LIGHTLY focus on when it comes to recruitment - we need a phone service advertisements. Hear me out - what could possibly go wrong if we would decide to hire underpaid workers to make calls to random numbers every day and talk about "Your own professional hockey player experience in Victory Hockey League". To be honest I think some might think we are a scam however, let's face it - aren't we a bit of a scam? Of course we are... I have already thought of the introduction whenever the call is made "Hello there potential prospect! Would you like to hear a story about a young player Scotty Campbell and how you can be just like him?" - I truly think that this would not only work but we would get all the best people here to join! *Don't forget to tell about a chance to donate some money to speed up that process towards becoming Scotty Campbell!* I knew I had great ideas but people, I think I have finally managed to out-do myself. Beautiful. Let us make sure we can achieve that together and increse VHL to a point when VHL will have 32 teams, VHLE will have their own Minor league called VHLME, VHLM will have 32 teams and each team will have a subsidiary team in Vicotry South East Asia Hockey League! I'm out!
  2. D.C. DRAGONS PRESS CONFERENCE Rough start, time for changes? Answer 3 for 1 TPE, Answer 6 for 2 1. GM Frostbeard has told media that if needed, he is willing to make tough decisions and move roster players if the level o fplay doesn't increase. Do you think it is the right call? 2. Jason and Frenchman both had a really tough argument and VLG refused to comment after the last game - what was the argument about? 3. Last season our team was one of the best offensive teams, now we rank as one of the worst, what could have been the cause of that? 4. We have seen our goaltender have pretty shaky games, how would you motivate our goalie to be more focused and not worry about the past performances? 5. How do you feel about your player's performance? 6. Defensively we have been playing decently - what is the key to success in having a good defensive performance every night?
  3. S91 Donation Transaction ID: 7ES65209MJ084450G 1) 5 Uncapped TPE 2) Doubles Week 3) 1M Player Store

  5. Well, I somehow forgot I can do this now too... @Cookie - Can you please write in this thread and confirm that I did in fact recruit you to VHL?
  6. D.C. DRAGONS PRESS CONFERENCE Roster is set, are we ready? Answer 3 for 1 TPE, Answer 6 for 2 1. AGM Willems was recently interviewed and he said that "Keegan Gamble is the real big deal, the true future of the league" - your thoughts on that? 2. Calaway and Laas have been slowly becoming very good friends, some journalists have called it "the great defensive bromance" - as a teammate of theirs, do you agree with that title given? 3. Both Jason and Sakamoto have won awards this season - how much will that influence their morale going into the next season? 4. If you would have to predict our position in standings at the end of S91 - where would you put your own D.C. Dragons? 5. What would be your ideal pre-game ritual? 6. D.C. Dragons ownership has started a new merchandice campaign called "Arena of Dragon" - a GoT and HoD themed hockey equipment - are you interested in acquiring some of that?
  7. D.C. Dragons Special Announcement We, the incredibly proud Dragons family, have always felt the need and in that a great honour to look for the best in our midst. It is that time to commemorate a career of a true D.C. Dragon, a player who embodied the true heart and soul of this team. In this case, we are talking about a player that had a tenure under 2 different GMs. Here is the comment from GM Eno Rama, the founder of D.C. Dragons : In my entire tenure as GM, I always positioned competitive windows around my goalie. If I had a good goalie under contract in a given season, I wanted to be competitive in that season. We had a couple really solid goalies even stick it out with us for a full career. Only one goalie ever brought us home a cup. To comment on this myself, as a GM that has spent only few seasons here, there were few players that I could always rely on and I knew they would keep pushing and make us all strive to do better. That strong backbone for us was no other than our D.C. Dragons career goaltender. Before the start of S91, we are proud to announce jersey retirement of our own Bubbles Utonium, the amazing Nr.27! Congratulations @fishy - you managed to not only build a truly wonderous and talented goaltender in Bubbles Utonium, but you also managed to set an incredible standard for any goaltender that joins our franchise! Good luck in the retirement and thanks for the amazing seasons spent with the Dragons!
  8. D.C. DRAGONS PRESS CONFERENCE Season is coming soon... Are you ready? Answer 3 for 1 TPE, Answer 6 for 2 1. GM Frostbeard, after being pressed by a journalist, has said that "I am yet unsure what role will Frenchman and Jason has on our roster, one will play second line, who? Not sure yet" - Do you feel GM should already know how his lines will look or this is a normal situation for a team not to know who plays where yet? 2. Keegan Gamble and Keita Kourou have been both actively bonding and have both been seen golfing together in the off-season, what are your thoughts on that? 3. Ben Laas recently was called out after he said that "Vincent is not good enough of a captain", some quoted that as "Vincent is not good enough at mixing Captain Crunch with milk" - which one do you feel is the right quote? 4. On our roster, who is the player that has the highest ceiling on what they can achieve in VHL? 5. Local newspaper "D.C. Chronicles" released an article stating that D.C. Dragons should go into another rebuild and GM Frostbeard should retire. Do you agree with that statement? 6. Do you individually feel you have done enough practice this off-season to achieve more next season?
  9. GM John Frostbeard steps up to the podium near the DC Dragons home arena on a winter infused autumn morning with a Red, Gold and Black scarf around his neck"Season 91, a season when we came back to playoffs, pushed to achieve new heights and yet didn't manage to prove our real worth. Now we are more than ready to push once again to strive above what many expect us to do. We are the underdogs but we are also a team full of passion and incredible talent that right now wants to prove that we belong among those teams that are consistently making playoffs. For that, however, we need few leaders to guide us through this season!"Here are the Captains for S91 D.C. DragonsAssistant captain and a player entering his last season, a dominant and focused individual, misunderstood but incredibly talented defenceman that proved himself this last season with our D.C. @Minebro Good luck in Vancouver! @cl4rk Welcome to D.C. Dragons - let's have a great run together!
  15. When will VSN learn how to spell Grimgor Ironhide....
  16. Wow.... Honestly, not going to lie, never expected this in a million years. LA became a home and even though we had some rough patches and even some situations when Miglasķēms got put on the block, we pushed through it and made the best of the situation we could. It was my pleasure to be there for LA and I knew that LA will always be there for me! Many guys there deserve all the praise - @KRZY, @Berocka, @Gustav, @wcats and of course many, many more. It wouldn't have ever been possible without you my good sir @InstantRockstar if only we had a chance to spend 8 full seasons together! It would have been absolutely marvelous, thank you for this great, great honour!
  17. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
