  1. GRIMGOR IRONHIDE ON S91 ENTRY DRAFT Oi, ya gitz! Listen up, 'cause it's me, Grimgor Ironhide, da biggest, meanest, and greenest boss you'll ever know. I'm in charge of my own mob of ardboyz, and they all know I'm da Big Boss of da World Edge Mountains, da master of da Darklands, and da true warlord of all black orcs. I'm here to tell all them teams thinkin' 'bout pickin' me in this S91 VHL Entry Draft – I'm da real deal, and I play da best krumpin' hockey there is, ain't no one better. What can ya expect from me? Well, I'll be breakin' some bones, looting, and takin' heads off puny, weak necks. It's all 'bout domination and showin' da world that I'm da biggest boss, and I mean da biggest! But there are a few things you need to know if you wanna have Grimgor Ironhide on your team: FIRST – I won't lift a finger 'less you scout me good. I'll sit on my green arse for as long as it takes, but I ain't playin' if you don't scout me first. SECOND – I'm only loyal if you give me all da ice-time, all dapoints, and a big mob around me. I'm da boss, and no one else matters. I'm da biggest of bosses! THIRD – I ain't signin' no long-term contracts. I fight, I win, I pillage, and I loot – I DESTROY EVERYTHING! WAAAAGH! I don't care if you got da weakest or da strongest team, just give me a shot, and da wins will follow. I also wanna prove myself in VHLE for one season – show 'em all how strong I am! I AM DA BIGGEST OF BOSSES! When it comes to talent, just look at my last season in VHLM. I smashed through everyone, and now I'm gonna do da same in VHLE. Then VHL will see da wrath of da World Edge Mountains,da master of Darklands, and da true big warlord of all black orcs – that's me, Grimgor Ironhide! And let's not forget, I'm a champion, not some puny champion, but a champion of da big game of hockey. Me and my crew in Mississauga won da biggest of cups! Not da kind you drink from, but da kind you put behind your throne to show you're da biggest boss. I do have one request, though. da team that drafts me better have a good feast ready – da biggest fish, da biggest game, I wanna feel da thrill of victory once again! So, there you have it, I'm da Big Boss of da VHL now, Grimgor, da Green Menace, da biggest of black orcs, and da most savage orc, alive or dead! WAAAAGH! Well, ya see, there's this fancy word called "Post Scriptum," and I reckon I should give it a whirl, just like I've seen it done before. So here it goes: I've also found myself takin' a likin' to some of them poems, and I gotta say, they're more beautiful than anythin' you'd find with them stunties or them fancy-pants men from da Empire. This Alexander Pope fella, he's a true master of words, and his verses give me strength for any battle. Now, I might not understand all them fancy words, but there's one line that's stuck in my head: "There stern religions quenched the undying flame, there died da best of passions, love and fame" - yeah, that's the one! I reckon there's more to 'em words than meets da eye, but it sounds like somethin' a big boss like me could appreciate. So, there you go, I'm sharin' my thoughts on this fancy poetry stuff. Now, back to krumpin' and conquering! WAAAAGH!
  2. D.C. DRAGONS PRESS CONFERENCE Our playoff spirit crushed, no matter, moving on! Answer 3 for 1 TPE, Answer 6 for 2 1. GM Frostbeard was called out for "Not making any moves to improve for the playoffs" - do you think our squad needed an improvement? 2. What do you think our squad will look like next season, stronger, weaker than the one we had in S90? 3. Ben Laas recently stormed out of the interview after a reporter asked "LA is heading to finals, how does that make you feel?" - do you have any insider information on why he took that question so personally? 4. With Ryuji Sakamoto and Geoff Bezos resigning for S91, do you feel like we are making the right decision to stick with the players we had? 5. There is going to be a massive hole in our roster as GM Frostbeard has talked about not resigning both Adolfsen and Futch, do you feel there is enough talent this upcoming FA to fill those roles? 6. Keegan Gamble is going to be joining our squad and potentially fight for the Rookie of the year award, what sort of a suggestion could you give to our young stud?
  3. So for 8 games we do 7.5%, and for 3 games we do 5%? If anything it should be then closer to 7.5% and 2.5% then, at least mathematically. But then again, I think that punishment isn't the most influential thing for those teams anyway so we should just keep living and enjoy life.
  4. After seeing some added messages - in my opinion, if no punishment was served before doesn't justify rule break right now. There should be punishment for everyone who plays bot goalie more than 8 games unless they have no other goalie than a bot goaltender. I see it as "If we let 2 games slide, every tanking team will play their bot 10 games".
  5. Ah, yeah, never thought of that and you are right.
  6. Clearly, everyone here has strong opinions about this so here is mine. I feel that this is a okay'ish punishment, that said, there are few talking points that are worth discussing. Firstly, when it comes to the idea of "punishing by lowering draft odds" I think is the least heavy hitting of any potential punishment and it makes most sense as for a rebuilding team the goal is to get as high of a Lotto pick as they can and by punishing where it hurts the most is always the way to do it. Losing a 3rd or a 2nd for this wouldn't make sense as we could start a precedent where GMs in a rebuilsing season play their bot 11/12 times, lose a 3rd to potentially get a higher pick in the Lotto. As a GM, I would take that bet any day of the week knowing how "important" is a 3rd Rounder. Secondly, when it comes to 5% loss in the draft odds, I feel like 3% for CGY and 10% for WAR would be a bit better of a punshment but I have never been against the principle "punish hard so it doesn't repeat".
  7. Me luvs you so much, RAAAAAAWR, we'll break all o' em stunties!
  8. I have told you multiple times, I don't want to play for you @Spartan - the same way as I don't want your babies and yet you keep asking...
  9. Grimgor iz da best, da big boss iz never going to be overlooked!
  10. Grimgor Ironhide on his time in VHLM and the future "I am da big boss" said the most feared and ruthless player in all of the VHLM, not even Vlad Von Carstein can in any way compete with magnificance of Grimgor, black orc big boss and leader of his 'Ardboyz. After joining Victory Hockey League, Grimgor needed a time to evaluate what he can do here after being stuck in this realm. "For many days I slept and ate and slept and ate, in da end I was exhausted by da idea of not havin' anythin' to bash in and pillage, nothin' to destroy and loot, nothin' to raid or raze. I felt weak and puny, just like some squig. But now, it's different! I 'ave a chance to break bones and destroy my opponents in a weird power dance dey call 'ockey, and to me, dis is da manliest fight ever!" - Grimgor Ironhide, da biggest and da meanest Greenskin warboss, also a player for Mississauga Hounds! To this point, interviews with Grimgor have all been incredibly chaotic and basically indistinguishable from his screams, however if we should combine it and get some idea, we can say that Grimgor has enjoyed his time in Mississauga, he even once has said that "Mississauga is da team with big power and even more ferocity!" - to us that is the greatest thing a striaght up brute can say. His season has been absolutely off the charts, not even the greatest black orc to ever live doesn't he is that good. In some interviews Grimgor has said, fairly openly that he is excited about the idea of spending a season in VHLE and proving how strong of a fighter he really is! Right now, many would rate him as one of the Top Wingers in his Draft class however there is a question about loyalty as it has been said that Grimgor will quite probably not be of any interest in staying in a team where he can't shine as the Number 1 forward and also doesn't have an opportunity to play on the highest stage. To this point, Grimgor has been scouted only once and he does expect to be scouted few more times as he has openly adimitted that to him being scouting is showing respect, respect that "a low and weak squig will never get". To him it really is a question of pride that someone asks him to be on their team rather than just drafting them and saying "Here, join our LR". Grimgor is a man of simple understanding of life, however he is a cunning offensive player with a strong physical aspect to his game. As of right now, Grimgor Ironhide will probably be selected in S91 1st Round, with our calculations, potentially in the Top Half of the 1st round. Talking a tiny bit more of the future, Grimgor has recently conveyed a message that he doesn't have any preferences, just a team that is willing to put him in the central role and a squad with feroucious talent and ability to make playoffs under his rule and power. To end this, I would like to quote Grimgor Ironhide about hockey: "Fer many days, I kipp'd and chomped, and kipp'd and chomped. By Gork and Mork, I was bleedin' knackered, not 'avin' nuffin' to krump, nothin' to sack and plunder, nothin' to raid or flatten. I felt like a puny, snivelin' squig, I did. But now, things've changed! I've got me a shot at snappin' bones and smashin' me foes in this strange brawl they call "hockey." To me, it's the most brutal scrap there is! Gork 'n Mork would be right proud!" Clearly, it can be said that Grimgor is ready to fight more and stronger opponents!
  11. D.C. DRAGONS PRESS CONFERENCE Closing in to the end of the season! Answer 3 for 1 TPE, Answer 6 for 2 1. How would you rate DC Dragons season at this point? 2. When it comes to your own player and the production you are seeing - are you satisfied with everything? 3. GM Frostbeard was recently seen leaving a bar in Bratislava heavily intoxicated and singing Latvian song 'Ai, jel manu vieglu prātu' - some have called this disgraceful, do you think a GM should worry more about their public appearance? 4. Ryuji Sakamoto has been one of the best defencemen this season, do you think having a strong veteran presence like that is important for this team? 5. With our team heading into playoffs after a long rebuilding run, do you think this team is ready for a deep playoff push? 6. Adolfsen and Futch were both interviewed by "Hockey Enthusiast Network" and have been quoted saying that they feel like their role has been diminishing on this team season by season, do you agree with that statement??

  16. D.C. DRAGONS PRESS CONFERENCE D.C. Dragons are on the way to playoffs! Answer 3 for 1 TPE, Answer 6 for 2 1. In a recent interview, GM Frostbeard openly said that "Dragons have a wonderful LR chemistry that is tough to beat" - do you agree with that statement? 2. Jason and VLG are both very high up scoring lists and have proven to be our top 2 offensive juggernauts - do you feel that will be enough to do good in playoffs?? 3. City of Washington recently released a statement saying that their favourite sports franchises are Wizards and Capitals. How important it is for Dragons to make it into that Top 2? 4. Backup goaltender Geoff Bezos has been stellar this season, do you feel that if things go sour, we need to give him few more starts? 5. Ben Laas and Justin Adolfsen have both already appeared in Viking Brandy commercials and the brand says their sales went up 23% after those commercials aired - do you feel that more of our players should go and start working with Dragons main sponsor? 6. Mark Calaway and Ryuji Sakamoto have both been incredibly influencial for our squad this season, do you feel their presence in the LR and do you think that resigning both Calaway and Sakamoto is important for our franchise?
  17. What it really means to be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY? I am not really sure. I don't really think any of my players or for that same case, me as a GM, have ever been FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY. That said, I feel that sometimes people tend to have certain doubts about what exactly makes it a true fisting. To entertain that fact, I will try to create a bit of a fun narative so we can see where it leads us in the end. To be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY, at least by Cambridge dictionary it means "to insult someone by not giving them any attention or treating them as if they are not important". To explain it more simply, to overlook someone. As a league member for almost 5 years, I have seen a ton of calls for someone being FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY, firstly, you see that in award nominations and award wins, that in the end extends to job interviews and hirings. Do no lie to yourself by saying "I have not seen anyone FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY when it comes to VHL jobs" - we all have our simplified biases that we focus on when making a decision on whether or not something deserves the title. I am not going to name any real examples as those are readily available if you so desire to search for them. It really is the inherant problem of being biassed - in one instance, we, jury of the people, look at hiring and award wins and sometimes think "Clearly, someone there was Biased and decided to go with member/player X, while not seeing qualities of the member/player Y", in another those who made the decision, votes, hired, selected, they might feel that the bias far more strongly stems from us, the ones who feel more associated with the "FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY" individual. Imagine yourself a situation - two players, with almost identical on-ice production receive nominations for MVP, their teams finish closely in terms of points, they are the clear 2 front runners for the award, team composition is similar and yet player X receives 5 votes and player Y receives 2 votes. Would you at this point argue that it is Bias? Would you argue that someone here was FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY? What if the vote situation was closer - player X receives 4 votes and player y receives 3 votes? I would argue that getting FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY in this situation far more likely would be attributed to the 5-2 vote, rather than to 4-3 vote as it looks far more close, it can be easier acceptable and yet the difference between those is a vote of a single individual. What happens if that one vote doesn't go to the player Y and if it goes to player Z, with votes looking like player X receives 4 votes, player Y receives 2 votes and player Z receives 1 vote, knowing that player Z was not in the same league as players X and Y? You could argue either way. In reality being FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY is nothing more than a calling, it is a life goal to be in that situation, to strive and fill that empty void deep in your heart, to fuel your self-righteous heart with great power and excitement! Live, feel the world and be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY and while doing that remember that life has perpetual meaning that being biased is not only a part of our human condition, but it also creates constant doubts about other biases and pushes us to live in semi-paranoia for all the time. Next time, when you see an award win that you don't agree, a job hiring you don't support - remember to think rationally, look at all the facts and relax.
  18. When I see him on the street, I am hitting his face with a brick. Sakamoto is the king we deserve.

  22. D.C. DRAGONS PRESS CONFERENCE Roster is set, emotions are high - lets show the league what Dragons can do! Answer 3 for 1 TPE, Answer 6 for 2 1. In an interview GM Frostbeard has openly said that he sees Calaway and Sakamoto as the best Defensive Duo in VHL. Your thoughts on that comment? 2. Jason has recently got into trouble after he was carried out of a nightclub by assistant GM Ivo Willems, some local news outlets have called it a 'disgrace to the sport of Hockey' - what do you think about this situation? 3. After long deliberations Viking Brandy brand has signed a 5 season sponsorship deal with D.C. Dragons. Few local breweries and alcoholic bewerage brands are calling this a 'traitorous move'. Do you believe our team should sign Latvian/Danish owned alcohol brand or should we focus on something more local? 4. It has been reported that D.C. Dragons have widely been rated as the potential 5th Seed in NA, making playoffs. Do you think it is a low/high rating for our team? 5. In a recent interview Keita Kourou was called a "untallented and weak player" by anonymous player of Calgary Wranglers roster. What is your reponse to that claim? 6. Lucas Grey recently returned to our roster and attended the end of the Training camp after spending some time away with their family. His response to question 'If he is ready to play after not working on his hockey game all of the off-season' he responded by saying 'I am not only ready, I am better that ever!' Do you think having a confidence like that can inspire the whole LR to play and perform better?
